Chapter Eight Now Up!

Chapter Eight Excerpt:

'"This morning," McGonagall began, her face white. "I was greeted by two hysterical young girls from Ravenclaw. They informed me that they, along with their best friend Melanie Trumpett, were approached by a cloaked figure who appeared to have came from the Forbidden Forest. These two girls tried to persuade their friend to come along with them, as they were cautious of the stranger, but they said that Ms. Trumpett was answering oddly. She didn't look the same, and her eyes looked "funny"...'

I love it absolutely love it. Please continue, I've been wanting to see a story like this with reconciliation between Harry and Draco as well as the others for some time now and you have given me precisely what I wanted.

Author's Response: I too got tired of reading of the (realistic) relationship between the two of them. Thanks for your positive feedback.

As Happily Ever After As They're Gonna Get by cjbaggins

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: My take on the first of those 'nineteen years' between the 36th chapter of DH and the epilogue.

Warnings: contains an unusually-shaped ring, a nosy neighbour, a rude shop assistant, shaving mishaps, thoughtful gestures, threatening goblins, and, unexplained appearances of Romantic!Ron and Romantic!Harry. You have been warned.

Rating is for *mild* innuendo and *mostly* innocent interactions but I wouldn't let my 9 year old read it.

The Vindication Of James Potter by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story

"James Sirius Potter, it is the judgment of the Wizengamot that you have been found guilty. You knowingly, in possession of sound mind and body, used the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse in the intentional torture and murder of one Gregory Goyle the Third."

James Potter was going to Azkaban for the rest of his natural life, and his whole family was in shambles. His wife and child have fled the country, his sister was missing, and his parents were a wreck. However, James knew that he had larger problems: his guilt was coming more and more in question.

Though he knew that James was withholding information about the circumstances of the murder of which he had been found guilty, Harry had secrets of his own; however, even he could not handle this torrent of trouble alone. Can Harry trust his darkest confidences to anyone? Even family?

How will the Potter clan stop the downward spiral into pain and disaster, and can they recover what they've lost?

You have me completely enthralled with this story. I love the twists and turns. I think I mentioned this in one of my earlier reviews but I'm glad you made peace between Harry and Draco. I was a little sad about the split between Harry and Ginny but it works and I love the path you took with Katie. She's a breath of fresh air for me and Harry. I've read many many fanfics and this is one of my favorites. I want to thank you for this. :) If you would like to e-mail me and talk about anything I would be thrilled. lobo_blanco1986@yahoo.com

Author's Response:

Well, um, yeah...you just totally made my day. :D

I've had a mixed reaction from my readers about splitting Harry and Ginny, but if one truly delves into the recesses of both of their characters, one tends to find that they really aren't as compatible as Jo intended them to be in the series. Ginny never understood Harry's desire to save the world at his own expense, and Harry would never stop being everyone's hero, because that's all he knew how to do at that point. There were very few people who would understand why he would torch his own marriage to keep someone's secret, but after the journey through these characters that I've taken in this story, I know them better than most of the people I know in real life. This just seemed like the natural course for the story to take. I knew that Harry would end up alone in the end because of how he handled this whole mess, but for some reason, I just couldn't make myself leave him with no one at all. He'll always need someone to protect and care for, and Katie just happened to have a position open with her and her daughter for just that.

Okay, that was probably more information that you asked for, but for some reason, ever since I got a semi-angry review for breaking up Harry and Ginny, I feel the need to validate my reasoning every chance I get. It's probably overly sensitive on my part, but when you've been working on something for 4-8 hours a day for five months straight, you tend to treat it like another appendage.

Anyhow, if you ever have any questions about the story or about events in the universe of Harry and the rest of the cast as I have it set in my mind, please don't hesitate to ask or to email me at avsno26rocks@aol.com. I really love hearing from my readers, good or bad, but sometimes, when people ask me questions, it actually sparks my creative juices and makes a better story as I write it. Well, that's all for now, so until we meet again...

You have my complete attention. Please, please continue writing, I love it. Unlike quite a few of the fanfics I've read on here this one is actually well conceived and plotted. Once again, please continue writing and I will continue to read and review.

Author's Response: [p]Wow, you have MY complete attention! You totally made my day. :D[/p] [p]Not to worry, you will most definitely find out what happens, because I'm pushing this story through as fast they'll put it up, and there's much, much more to come from my beloved characters. I chose Harry's children around which to center my story because it's nearly a blank slate with which to work. I can do things like send one of them to prison, because while we know none of the Trio would never kill anyone, we don't know James, Albus and Lily as well as them.[/p] [p]Well, again, thank you for reading and keep an eye out, because I have no intention of stopping this story. I think of it as my brain child, since I formulated the entire story around the first line, and it was all good things from there.[/p]

I must say I love this, every bit of it. Please, please continue. I would hate for this to become like so many others I've read unfinished and forgotten. I don't think I can take another of my favorite fan fictions being cut short before the finish. I love, you are an exceptional author. I think you would do well to create your own world and your own stories. I would read them.

Author's Response:

Haha, I'm totally chuckling/blushing. You just gave me warm fuzzies all over. :D

I have every intention of finishing this book, and I'm actually almost done, so it should be finished within the month, because I find it harder to write the further into it I go. I want it to be just right, and that takes a little time, but I guarantee a finish to this story. I'd be pretty disappointed in myself if I didn't complete it. Thank you so much for reading, and feel free to leave as many reviews as you want, because they make an author's day. Take care!

Peace in Heaven by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: After decades of hatred, a friendship begins...

Severus Snape wakes up after Nagini's bite in a hospital bed. He is dead, of that there is no doubt, but he cannot move on as the others who fell in battle have.

I am Equinox Chick from Hufflepuff and this is my entry in the November in-house banner/story challenge.

Author's Note: For this competiition, the writers in Hufflepuff picked banners designed by other Puffs and wrote a story based on the picture, title and catchphrase. The banner I chose was by Terri (mudbloodproud).

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. I think it's safe to assume that you all know that.

I am indebted to the truly wonderful (and QSQ award winning) Emma (Amortentia x) who has beta'd this fic. Not only did she sort out my punctuation, but she had some extremely good suggestions throughout the story.

I wish this wasn't a one shot, I love how you brought one of my favorite characters out of his shell and shown him the "light" as it were. Keep it up I do love this one. I would really like to see a sequel or this turned into a longer story even. Thank you for your genius and way with words, it makes me happy to know that there are still some people with a good imagination out there and to give Snape his due...Thank you.

Author's Response: Thank you very much for the review and the praise. I don't think there'll be a sequel, unless I can think of a new angle as they are just about reconciled now. Hmmm, Regulus entering perhaps *ponders*. ~Carole~

You have my undivided, curiousity rapt attention. PLEASE finish and SOON!!!!

Author's Response:

I'm working on it, I promise. I've just had to do some *eek* planning and outlining. When I started doing that, I have no idea, but I'd really like this fic to come out well. Thanks for reading and your support. A new chapter should come out soon. :)
