Summary: Nine years after Genevieve Weasley began her lustful affair with Demetri Rosier, she begins to wonder if there's more to the relationship. No matter the answer, her connection with him has dragged her into the Purity of the Night, a group who hopes to bring the purebloods back to power, and their leader has his eye on Genevieve. Now he will stop at nothing to get her, but the cost of Demetri and Genevieve leaving could prove fatal.
Teddy Lupin, always having been suspicious of Demetri, starts keeping a closer eye on his fellow Auror as mysterious things happen between Demetri and Genevieve, beginning with her disappearance from the Auror office. He, and the rest of the extended family, are determined to find her and bring her back where she belongs... away from Demetri, who they believe could cause her more harm than good.
Holy wow, the chapter's name really was "..."
But aside from that... wow strong chapter. First torture, then rape? And you know what I'm thinking? That that dream Viev had about Nathaniel taking Eli away? I hope it wasn't symbolic for what just happened in this chapter... things certainly don't look good for Eli
That Imperio must have been more than frustrating to Viev... such a strong, proud person bending to the will of someone else, aside from the obvious humiliation of rape. I wish Demetri had killed Nathaniel then and there... what on earth is Nathaniel thinking that involves Viev's family?
Author's Response: Thanks, TarynSage, for the review. :) And you think so about that dream? We'll have to wait and see, now won't we? With the Imperius Curse, that was another thing I considered, and why it made it even harder to write. Demetri isn't allowed to kill or cause any harm to Nathaniel, also, unless he also wants Genevieve dead; he was instructed not to early on and he is forced to listen to Nathaniel's orders by his father's commands. Oh, this just gets so much more frustrating by the minute, doesn't it? I won't take too long in submitting the next chapter, to see what Nathaniel has in mind. Thanks again for reading and reviewing! :)
Where is Albus Dumbledore when you need him!?!? (He is only excused because he's dead)
Nuuu Demetri! First you kill him, now you lock him away? My, you love torturing your characters, don't you? Lol
I hate cocky judges and attorneys. But was Diana really just trying to win the case for herself, or was that just Genevieve's perspective?
Author's Response: Thanks, TarynSage! Yes, I know I'm cruel, but things will get better soon... we all hope. About Diana, as much as she'd like to admit that she was mostly doing it out of the kindness of her heart for Demetri, part of her was really wanting to win this case for herself. She has a bit of pride to keep up. ;) However, that didn't stop her from defending Demetri in the best way she could. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)
Oh god, Nathaniel =O he's like Savage, but with more money and darker....
Speaking of which... what happened to Savage and Olivia? Did they get together in the end? Lol xD
Anyhow, ugh I feel sorry for Genevive having to stand all of the stuffy purebloods. It seems she forgot all about asking Demetri about his family relations...hmm, that dress tut tut xD
Author's Response: Oh, please. Nathaniel makes Savage seem like a lovesick little boy. You'll see soon; Nathaniel's been the darkest character I've ever created. Savage and Olivia: you know, I hadn't thought of that.... As for Genevieve, she had some sort of idea of what she was getting into when she chose Demetri over her family. The couple tends to stay out of the pureblood scene unless the Aurors need them there or his family asks (although Genevieve gets a bit touchy there). Thanks so much for the reply! :)
Dun duuun! What on earth is it that Demetri knows and is trying to hide?? Stay tuned to find out! Lol
Short but good. More characters made an appearance, and we've seen Harry in boss-mode hahaha
Author's Response: Next chapter you find out, I promise. ;) Thanks for reading and replying! Yes, I love Harry in boss-mode; that makes frequent appearances here.
Hahahaha I loved this chapter xD Sam and Ivette, their kids, Harry showing up, D/G.. just everything. I really enjoyed it :P
Awww I'd marry Demetri. It's a shame Genevieve doesn't want to... but at least she's considering the "children" factor lol
Favourite quote: "I remembered that Andromeda Black was blasted off because she married Ted Tonks, who had Nymphadora Tonks, who married Remus Lupin and created that very sad fellow over there." lmao!!!
Author's Response: Haha, thanks, TarynSage. I'm glad you enjoyed it. xD I'd marry Demetri, too, but Genevieve has her principles in order. She's still iffy on the children, but she's already been pregnant, so she can't exactly say 'no' to Demetri now.... I love that quote too. :P Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)
This chapter was.... intriguing.... The change in Genevieve's character is puzzling. If Nathaniel was indeed there with her, I wouldn't have expected her to come out of the ordeal like that.
And then, why is she suddenly smiling at Felix and wanting to visit Ivette??? I agree with Teddy, something's wrong. Oooh dear... Nathaniel what did you do!?
Author's Response: Lol, thanks, TarynSage. Hmm... it is interesting that Genevieve did change character so quickly... you might want to look into what things could happen that could do that. ;) Thanks so much for the review! :)
Are you serious?
ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!?
I swear, I did not see that one coming. When you told me Demetri wouldn't be in the sequel, I never assumed this!! Omg Genevieve's free but you killed him!! D: Trust Nathaniel to double cross people like that... I'm in shock
And it happened so fast! No one had a chance to react. I'm hoping this is some kind of trick, but somehow, I think not...... )':
Aside from that, well written. I know what it's like to lose your beloved, though not to the same degree, and that's pretty much the way it feels. Nicely captured. Now you better not leave us hanging on this!!
Author's Response: I know, I know. Yeah, Nathaniel's been wanting Demetri dead for some time now and he finally chose to go through with it. And it did happen quickly, which is the sad part. And thanks for the compliments on the writing style; it was hard to imagine exactly how Genevieve would react given that she almost never cries and she's never had to deal with something like this. Thank you for reading and replying. :)
It sounds like a crazy plan that they have, but I hope it works out for them. The other outcome is not really an option. I hope they know what they're doing!!
Oi Teddy, you're growing up! :D Lol
Author's Response: Thanks, Taryn! Yep, crazy plan and we'll see how it works. Hopefully no bad outcomes, right? :) Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)
You know, usually I'd rant at the cliffhanger but I think I'm getting used to it Lmao xD
Of course you'd choose the last sentences of chapter 31 for the summary. Wow. This was fast paced. I'm seriously wondering how this is going to work out for them now. Does Leopold have the option of reversing the Contract for his son's sake? Stay tuned and find out in the next chapter of A Mix of Alliances and Sentiments!! Hahaha
Author's Response: What do you mean you're getting 'used to" my cliffhangers?? Don't tempt the author or she might have to come up with worse cliffhangers. >:) Yes, you know me too well to know that I will put the best parts for the excerpt. :P I'll be posting soon, if work doesn't overwhelm me too much. Thanks again for reading and reviewing! :)
I didn't like this chapter!! (Well, yes... but not what happened to everyone hahahaha)
Dammit. Damn that contract. It was a good thing Teddy and Tonks thought of leaving Harry a note for backup, and that they arrived in time, or who knows what could have happened there.
I suppose Genevieve will be taken to St. Mungo's now, and I bet Demetri is beside himself with anger... things don't look good at all :S
Author's Response: Lol. You didn't like it? Lmao. Well, thanks for the response anyway. ;) Yeah, it would have been really bad if back up hadn't have come. Genevieve will be taken to St. Mungo's, with an interesting meeting with everyone. Demetri is furious, but there's not much he can do at the moment. Thanks again for reading and reviewing! :)
I knew it!! Mwahahaha I knew it was Fauna! xD how could it not be? Lol
What I didn't expect was Genevieve keeping her from Demetri. I can see Demetri being a bit upset over that... but let that come later xD right now he's where he belongs :P
I have the same question as Demetri.. just when did Genevieve get pregnant? (I am so going to check our timeline!! lmao)
I loved the chapter :) nice ending to such a dramatic story. Happy in a way, but we know better don't we? lol can't wait for the epilogue!!
Author's Response: hahahahaha, thanks, Taryn! You were just waiting for me to introduce her into the story, right? Demetri would be slightly upset about not knowing, but he knows Genevieve did it for the best of reasons and right now, his concern is being with his daughter. I know I already told you when Genevieve got pregnant, but I'll say it again here for anyone else who is curious (should put it at the beginning of the epilogue too). Fauna was conceived several nights before the big fight with the Purity; it was too early to tell of Genevieve's pregnancy when she was at St. Mungo's and even then it would have been confused with the symptoms of the potion. Genevieve found out of her pregnancy while Demetri was on trial and knowing that the trial wouldn't go well, she decided to keep Fauna a secret. I'm glad you enjoyed this and I promise to post the epilogue soon! Thanks for reading and reviewing! :D
Wow even Genevieve's body is rebelling... bloody Nathaniel, that was unexpected. Not what he did, but the moment he chose to do it. I guess he felt that he should lull them into a false sense of security first, then strike. Smart.
That contract is evil. Render your victim defenseless before striking, why not? Demetri must be worried sick, and now he probably won't want to leave Viev's side at all. He'll get into trouble with Nathaniel, won't he? I don't think he'll let him go with what he did to Genevieve.
Genevieve's illness is kind of strange, though. Must know more. =0
Author's Response: Ah, yes, Nathaniel is a conniving son-of-a-witch. But he's going to try to get what he wants, no matter what it takes. Demetri is scared to death, but the sad thing is is that he can't do a thing about most of it. He is forced to go to work every day and can't come home until the end of the work day, leaving Genevieve rather vulnerable. Tension is rising between the two men, but Demetri will try to keep his cool for now, as protection for Genevieve (one wrong move and it can be labeled at rebellion). As for that "illness", I can tell you it has nothing to do with the contract. ;) Thanks for reading! :D
Dun dun!! Harry should listen to Teddy, there's something fishy going on! Though, it really looks like Teddy is more worried about what's happening with the couple at a personal level, rather than a professional one... if only he knew =O
He should be more careful when spying Lol he reminded me so much of clumsy Tonks at that moment! Demetri and Genevieve sure have a big problem in their hands... I'm really curious about how they will solve it, or if it can be solved at all!
Author's Response: Lol, thanks for reading. Yes, the clumsy falling was inspired by dear Tonks (wouldn't she be so proud?). Harry does understand that there's something going on, but he's a little more trusting of Demetri (just a bit worried for Genevieve's safety). Right now, things are bit in a confusion where no one really understands what Nathaniel is trying to do. Things will start getting more serious soon. Thanks again for reading! :D
Well, you already know I laughed at Leopold and the maid =P (and that login was a nightmare ¬¬)
Anywho... t'was a looong chapter! Love it =) Demetri's parents took the news well, all things considered. Freya's reaction was the best, pulling out Demetri's baby albums... why is it that all mum's do that? Lol. Charlie and Maddi.... their reactions should be interesting... looking forward to them, should Demetri and Genevieve feel like sharing xD
And that contract... poor Lucinda =( after what happened to them, people will be less inclined to betray Nathaniel :S
Looking forward to another update! (That I will hopefully be able to read the day it's uploaded ¬¬)
Author's Response: Yes, I did know that, lol. Thanks so much for the read and review! I did love how Freya is very happy at the news and as for Charlie and Maddi finding out... it'll be a while. Given the past between Genevieve and her parents, I doubt they'd be happy to find out that the daughter who left them to be with a Rosier because of lust got pregnant. And most definitely, that is precisely why Nathaniel chose to show everyone just how powerful the contract is. Will be updating soon, I assure you. :) Thank you again for reading (and reviewing, lol)! :)
Gah Teddy, come on! That he didn't say he loves her in front of you doesn't mean he hasn't said it somewhere else!!
Awesome chapter mzap :) I really enjoyed it. We got to see the rest of the gang and their kids.
Naughty James how he taught the kids to play 'Aurors and Death Eaters'... how old would James be by now? His dad's Harry Potter, he should know not to play that game Lol
And finally Maddi lays out the contract for us. Now there's no doubt about it and Teddy has a nice big clue, if only he saw it from all possible angles. Let's hope he does haha
Author's Response: Lmao. Thanks for replying, Taryn! Yeah, Teddy can be a bit naive sometimes... or just plain stupid. I love writing everyone with their children; the kids are so cute. James is about 20 right now, and I write him rather mischievous, actually. The purpose of this chapter was to clear up and try to simplify the idea of the contract, as it can get a bit confusing. As for Teddy, he'll get it... eventually. Thanks again! :)
Genevieve is going crazy!! O.o I agree with Teddy, she needs a vacation. So free Demetri and send them to Mexico!!! :D
I feel sorry for Teddy x] he was just trying to help, and he did get Diana on board, despite Demetri almost killing her brother.
Everyone help Demetri now!!
Author's Response: Thanks, TarynSage! Yes, I'll agree Genevieve is a tad... emotional right now. She definitely needs a vacation, but I think Mexico's a little far for her to travel. ;) Visiting her family might be better for her. As for Teddy, well Genevieve wasn't exactly going to show her gratitude quite so politely, especially with Teddy wanting some sort of recognition for it. Diana and Ivette are two women not quite so pleased with Demetri for what he did to Sam, but they realized (grudgingly) that it was for the best and that he wasn't really trying to kill Sam. Thanks again for reading and reviewing! :)
Wow, that was brilliant!!! I like the strange relationship these two have, and Teddy's entrance at the end was priceless xD
Big revelations in this chapter. Let's see how that changes things with the whole family...
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Jackie! I'm glad you liked this. Haha, about Teddy's entrance. For some reason, I love how Teddy and Genevieve absolutely hate each other; so much fun. Thanks for reading and replying!
Haha the chapter with the Rafiki guy! I remember the conversation we had about him xD and the conversation we had about Genevieve's dream, similar to mine brrr I just never knew who took my boy and we weren't running through a forest brr
I liked the Rafiki guy, some humour to this rather dark chapter. My God, Genevieve almost died. I bet Leopold is having second thoughts about that contract now... Next chapter should be 'The Contract Derailed' right? the extract you have in the summary! dun dun dun
Can't wait xD
Author's Response: Yes! I knew you would remember! Lol. Thanks so much for reviewing. And I remember telling you about the dream, but I'd forgotten that you hadn't read it yet. Yes, rather similar to yours. Very true that Genevieve almost died; if Leopold hadn't hesitated, she would have died. As for the next chapter, it's "The Contract Detailed", lol. Thanks again for reading! :D
I can think of just one memory that wouldn't have much to do with the trial, the kind of memory that slips in ;), but Demetri should leave it just to annoy the judges xD
Poor Demetri.. I hope this plan works :S
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing, Taryn! :) Hahaha, Demetri will be leaving that memory out... it honestly did slip in! And I don't think annoying the judges would be the best approach... if Demetri wants to get out. Thanks again!
Teddy, Teddy, Teddy.... I like him but he's going to get his behind really kicked by Demetri one of these days. Demetri showed his Slytherin side today! Yay! Lol
Loved Tonks x] I wouldn't have wanted to move from that couch either... just to look at some corpses... come on, Teddy, pah! hahaha
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the reply! Yeah, I'm pretty sure Demetri could take Teddy down any day. ;) Haha, and yes, Demetri has that wonderful Slytherin side that I just love. I agree with Tonks. If Remus was there, I wouldn't have wanted to move either. And I knew you would like Alexander... well, the name at least. Thanks again for the review and for reading! :)
