Strangers at Drakeshaugh by Northumbrian
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 280]

The locals in a sleepy corner of the Cheviot Hills are surprised to discover that they have new neighbours.

Who are the strangers at Drakeshaugh?

Am reallly looking forward to ECCENTRIC when it is finally approved and posted.
Looking forward to more from you.

Author's Response: Thanks. I am (slowly) continuing all of my stories. Tales of the Battle is almost done (three chapters to go) and when that’s finished I will have more time. -N-

YEAH!!! Love seeing your story updates ;)
Can't wait to see what Jacqui finds at the Potter's new place--Lockhart's Guide to moving in perhaps... hehehehehe..

As with other reviewers, can't wait for update tor Tales of the Battle and of course Aurors and Schoolgirls.

Looking forward to more of your one shots, namely Harry and Ginny's side of the stories you have already finished with Ron and Hermoine.

I also wouldn't be opposed to reading something from Molly's POV, cause The MInd of Arthur Weasley is a wonderous piece of writing and I reread it often.

Author's Response:
Thank you.

Jacqui will meet several new people (many of them familiar to readers, but not to her) and make some puzzling discoveries.

There are only two more chapters of Tales of the Battle (Paperwork, and Index). I’ve been neglecting A&S but I hope to put that right soon.

The rather rude one-shot Spontaneity is about to get three even ruder chapters. Writing from Molly’s pov is not something I’d considered, Though I’m glad you like Arthur. That story is indirectly responsible for this one, as, until Arthur I’d never considered writing first person pov.

E.C.C.E.N.T.R.I.C. by Northumbrian
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 16]

Summary: E.C.C.E.N.T.R.I.C. is the second of four loosely connected stories I think of as the “Potter Family” series. In order, the stories are: It Takes Two, ECCENTRIC, First Sight and Sleepless Night.
Ginny takes a trip to Tibet with an eccentric companion.

Not for sure what I was expecting as I have been anticipating this title for a while. Wonderful story with true character traits of Ginny and Luna. I was surprised that Rolf was that much younger than Luna and Ginny.

Wonderful as always, please keep your wonderful tales coming.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I was surprised too. It is stretching things, as Newt Scamander was born in 1897, but it’s possible (just). Luna simply IS! I can’t control her. -N-

A bit after reading this, I got to thinking about Lavendar's story BARE. Though not the night primarilly mentioned in that story, isn't this referenced??

I will have to reread BARE to be sure, but it is late/early here depending on how you look at it.

Interesting concept the MIT. I do like the history of it and can easily see Harry conviencing the minestry of the need to look into "muggle" world deaths/questionable events with the magicial community.

Author's Response:
You are correct, Bare takes place after this (and Moon takes place after Bare). There is a fleeting reference to this event in Bare, but I hope that this story (like Bare) stands alone.

JKR tells us that Harry (and Hermione and Ron) make changes. You will see many more changes in my other stories. Thank you.

Moons by Northumbrian
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 32]

July 2010 and a young married couple are out for a relaxing and romantic day. An afternoon at the theatre, followed by a meal to bring back memories. It should be a fairytale day. Unfortunately, it is.

This is a sequel to Moon and is another story featuring Mark Moon (Best Original Character - Quicksilver Quills 2010). A lady named Lavender appears too.

I must say, I like this story better the more you write.

It is nice the way you have matured Lavender through your stories, I don't think they did her justice in the films.

Mark is as always is a great addition to the Potterverse.

Author's Response: My Lavender stories are all a little odd. I blame Lavender (most people do, for almost everything) :-D I think that Lavender and Mark make a great team. -N-

While not a fan of Lav in the books, I do like what you have done with her.

Great cliffy here, can't wait for more on the Moons (as we know we are getting more info on Lav becoming a werewolf in H & P).

Keep it coming!!!

Author's Response: Thanks. Lavender’s backstory is threaded through a lot of my stuff (starting with Tales of the Battle). She stars (if that’s the right word) in MIT, MLT, Haunted House, Bare and Moon (I’ve no idea if you’ve read them). I have a MIT novel length story (called Exsanguination) planned, but I won’t start it until I finish one or two other stories. -N-

YEAH!!! Lav and Violet are ok (though the actual birth story will be interesting as we hear about it in Drakehough).

Looking forward to more....

YEAH again for more A&S soon.... time for a Ball.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
I’ve started several stories because of a challenge, but you should see more Schoolgirls, Spontaneity and Strangers soon.

Another long awaited title, and a goody at that!!!

I was thinking that the title was referring to --not hazing exactly--but ways to welcome new members to the team.

I love that Ginny thought she was above pre game rituals, but kissing Harry at this point in your storyline is second nature.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. This little bit of fluff was a lot of fun to write (and I probably did far too much research into pre-match rituals) I’m certain that Ginny suffered a little when she first joined the Harpies, but no one messes with Ginny for long. -N-

M.I.T.: Haunted House: Dead by Northumbrian
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 22]

A haunted house that isn’t haunted, a Muggle fortune teller who can’t actually tell fortunes and the legend of the Cursed Green Pearl! What happens when “the nation’s favourite television ghost-hunters” stumble onto something really magical? What (apart from a mysterious chest, a broken red stiletto and a corpse) lies within the topmost room of the Haunted Tower?

It’s time for the Auror Office’s Muggle Interface Team - Brown, Bones and Beadle - to investigate.

This is Northumbrian of Ravenclaw house writing for the 2011 Mysterious May Challenge in the Great Hall - Extra Credit Prompt

This is one of four mystery stories I wrote for the Challenge. Until now I’ve resisted editing this story as to do so will (I believe) mean that it can’t be judged as part of the challenge (editing after the closing date is cheating). I can’t wait any longer.

OHHHH, a wonderful intro with a wink and a nod to the professional ghost hunter shows making a reoccurance. I can remember back in the 1970' and 80's when we had Ripley's Believe It or Not and those Halloween type specials on shows like That's Incredible.
Can't wait for more MIT

Author's Response:
Thank you.
Any resemblance between the cast of “Haunted House: Live” and that of a real UK “ghost-hunting” show from the last decade is purely coincidental. ;-)
The next chapter is already in the queue.

The Accidental Tour Guide by Ruby Emeralds
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 75]

Summary: One year after the defeat of Voldemort, the international wizarding community decides to commemorate the occasion with a magical convention in the American city of Phoenix, Arizona; the city had been chosen to honor the bravery of the members of the Order of the Phoenix. When Harry, Ron, and Hermione are invited to attend the convention as special guest speakers, Harry asks his American Godmother to come with them, to act as a tour guide during their travels in the desert. In this first sequel to The Accidental Godmother, Celie, Snape (her ever reluctant husband), Harry, Ron, and Hermione embark on a memorable – and hilarious – journey through the American southwest.

I really like the backstory with James' parents and how his character growth is coming not only with age, but with the tragic events occuring to his family.

A wonderful off piece to add to your timeline.

A big thanks for the word history as well.

I’m sure that the jury was fairly selected.
This was an opportunity for me to indulge an unfortunate proclivity for sesquipedalian circumlocution. And, hopefully, make people laugh.

Soooo cute!!!

I guessed where you were going right off.

Now we have an insight into the early days of all 3 Potter kids, though the births of Albus and Lily would be nice along with Harry's POV of "The Question" and Harry and Ginny's wedding.

A glimpse of Ron and Hermoine facing their children's births would be welcome as well.

Can't wait for more!!!

Author's Response:
This one-shot may (possibly) become a two-shot. I have no plans to write any more birth stories, but then I didn’t plan to write this either, until the idea arrived. Ron and Hermione is a possibility…
"The Question Again" is a very rough draft which I’ve been ignoring for a while. My plan for Harry and Ginny’s wedding is for a series of multiple point of view one-shots. You may see something soon.

Cute chapter!!! ;)

I really enjoyed when James realized Al's power.

I was expecting some kind of response from Henry, but can't wait to see if Annie does anything unsually on her outing with Lily.

Of course part of that would be the fun in how the Lily (or any of the kids), describe their new friends doing magic to Harry and Ginny,,, or maybe Jaqui and Mark???

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
There will be no more “Drakeshaugh Dragon” This one day in the lives of the Potters is all I planned.

Oh boy this one is going to be fun!!!!

I have some theories on the Jacque's family, but they may not be right so I will refrain from going further right now. But they would be interesting.

Love seeing the kids just a tad bit older.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. This will simply be a short, three chapter, bit of fluff about five very small kids. Jacqui’s maiden name was Wake. Is that important? -N-

The Drakeshough Triwizard 7 Potter story!!!!!

Loved that the prat Z. Smith was the bad guy, he gives us Hufflepuffs a bad name. hahaha.

Great as always, but was surprised that there wasn't a reference or mention of Hagrid when the giant was slain.

Can't wait for what's next.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
As Harry discovered, simply making stuff up as you go along doesn't always work. The names are the ones (I think) would pop into Harry's head.
Hagrid has not appeared in any of my stories! How on earth have I allowed that to happen? That's somthing I must correct.

Nice to know that Harry and Ginny do have some friends in the press.

Would love to see the picture of H & G smootching.

Also love how your story additions are overlapping so closely---whether by design or its just happening that way.

Can't wait for more!!!

Author's Response:

Harry and Ginny’s “friends in the press” are not above manipulating the couple to improve sales of Harpies products.

Sometimes a chapter of one story gives me an idea for something else. As my timeline is now fairly well fixed (do you want to know the date of Michael Corner’s wedding, and who he marries?) I can move up and down it with a reasonable amount of confidence.
