Harry Potter and the Impossibility of Time Travel by ChibiChibi
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 371]
Summary: Three years post-Hogwarts. The final battle has started on the night of Harry's twenty-first birthday and he and Voldemort finally face off -- but Voldemort still has to play his last card to get rid of Harry -- by sending him and three of his 'friends' into the past exactly twenty-one years. The four of them now have to struggle to be accepted, keep their identities from certain persons and find a way home.
This story will contain some romance -- if you don't accept certain couples or just desperately want to know who's going to pair up, just e-mail me, and I'll tell you.
Very interesting chapter. I was almost afraid Voldy was going to go after little Harry a year early. I knew Remus had figured it out that day at Hogwarts! Wonder if Draco might be the mystery guy? Were you talking about Dumbledore being dead in your beginning notes? I think Harry, Dumbledore, James, Remus, Sirius and maybe Lily are going to be having a very long talk soon.
Well, it was a typical Harry move. He was never good at thinking first, acting second. It will be interesting to see how he explains this to his parents. Relative of Rita Skeeter? Her maiden name by chance?
It was never mentioned in the HP series exactly when Dumbledore told the Potters and the Longbottoms about the prophecy. I'm guessing it was sometime around the boys first birthdays since we know after DH that Harry had a party and some of the neighbors were there. I can't wait to see how Remus and Sirius react. I'd like to think Peter dropped dead of fright. My guess? Draco or Hayden. Could it be Sirius?
Another good chapter. I'm glad Remus had the good sense to tell them he knew about Harry. Wolves do have extraordinary senses. I'm also betting James is going to ask Albus about why and how Harry was attacked. It would be nice to be able to change things for the better, but it could also change other things for the worse.
I was right! I sort of had doubts a couple times, but he was the only one I could think of. This is not going to make Ron happy at all. If this timeline alters their timeline - I don't even want to go there.
Well changes in a parallel timeline would make at least one reality better. If they are on the same timeline, then they've already irreversibly changed some things and will remember them when they get back. It can be very confusing. I've read enough books that have dealt with timetravel to realize - You can never be sure.
2nd chance? I wrote a review but don't know if it went through. My computer just did something weird. I'm glad Ron is starting to grow up, but what's going to happen when they get back to their own time? I've read stories where the travelers remember, and where they only knew they had been somewhere but not what happened. Is it a different timeline? Will they be able to tell James & Lily about the Profecy? Will it change their future? What about Hermione & Draco? It's going to be interesting to find out. And will they go back to the second they left if they go back at a different time of year?
With any luck in this timeline there will be a happier life for the Potter's and the good Marauder's. But we still have to find out what will happen to their own timeline. Read on I say!
What did the twins put in Harry's drink?
So it wasn't the twins. How did Snape or Wormtail get something in Harry's eggnog? Because it was definitely Harry that Voldy wants out of the way.
Spinner's End? Little Hangleton, the Gaunt cottage? Harry is obviously going to try and rescue Snape's wife and kids. The poison certainly sounds like a Snape concoction and he'll only reverse it if his family is safe.
Wen I wrote the previous review I forgot to ask one very important question. Was it Peter using Polyjuice Potion to be Remus at the Weasley's so he could poison Harry? Or is Remus the bad guy in this timeline.
That was pretty low, using a 13 yr old. 'Course Voldy doesn't hesitate to try and kill a 15 month old so don't know why I'm surprised. I don't even want to know what Molly and Arthur will do if they find out. I'm surprised Ron didn't try to kill Snape right then for using his "cousin" like that. I'm guessing the Snape family will now be residing at Hogwart's. Maybe they will be able to get rid of Voldy in this timeline.
I love the way you are developing this story. It's a really great prospective on the first war. I'm also guessing Snape is still the eavesdropper in this timeline and he and Lily were childhood friends before Hogwarts. I like the Snape in your story. I was always sure in the HP series that he would turn out to be a good guy and, of course, was proven right in DH.
Do you have this story on any other sites with more chapters? Patience is a virtue, however, not one I have much of and would llove to read more sooner.
Awesome does not even cover this chapter. Brilliant is a little closer but not good enough. I'm not sure there is a word that could describe how well this is written. Maybe incredible?
Oh S...!!!!! I was afraid this would happen, but hoping it wouldn't. Now I'm going to be REALLY impatient for your next chapters.
Potter's Charm by Secret Lily
Rated: [Reviews - 2501]
Summary:
All's fair in love and war
Lily thinks herself too clever to fall for James Potters charm. Yet, as the two of them are appointed Head Boy and Girl, will Lily regret her negative feelings towards James? Pre-HBP
Reads like a good start to me.
I definitely plan on sticking around. I like what you've done in the first two chapters, and they're not necessarily slow, just setting the scene for the rest.
Who are they after? One of the Marauder's?
