Hi, I'm Avery, nice to meet you.
I'm a sophomore in college, 19 years young.
I've written two stories, working on a third, working on updating, and working on an OC.
I'm accio avery on the Beta Boards.
I love HP humour and really good HP romance fics.
When I'm not reading or writing I'm looking forward to the next time I'll be reading or writing.
Summary: This one is about our good friend Severus Snape. For obvious reasons, he’s hasn’t been feeling too delightful lately, and his thoughts throw him into a spiral of fear and guilt.
Great, I loved it. :)
Summary: “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a land slide, no escape from reality. Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see… Anywhere the wind blows doesn't really matter to me.”
Draco Malfoy has killed a man – a fellow Death Eater. Running away from the Death Eaters who are sure to pursue him, he runs into a weary Harry Potter, and takes a risk which may prove fatal.
Last story in my Night at the Opera series.
Wow, I don't usually read slash, but this one was really good. I really like your writing style, by the way. Really easy to read, straight to the point, but all the while strung together like a good writer should.
Summary: A ballad about my favorite conflicted hero and the lengths to which his loyalty drives him.
Second place entry in The Ballad Challenge
Wow, that was definitely an awesome poem, great job.
Summary: Chapter Ninety Six is posted!
This is the story of four boys. This is the story of a boy from a family he wants to escape from. This is the story of a boy who is from a family he loves deeply, but lacks the gift of a best friend. This is the story of a boy who has been living with a curse his entire life, fighting to overcome it. This is the story of a boy who wishes to show people what he can do. This is the story of how these four boys came to know each other, of how they became friends. This is the story of their unbreakable bond, of a bond that could survive any test, any trial. This is a story that will ultimately end in tragedy.
Nominated for a 2007 and 2009 Quicksilver Quill Award - Best Marauder's Era Featured Mugglenet Fanfiction, October 2011
Great opening to a long story. Loved it.
Author's Response: Thanks!
Summary: The Dursleys have left Privet Drive and are in hiding with Hestia Jones and Dedalus Diggle. Hestia and Mr. Dursley are constantly fighting, Petunia is avoiding the wizards at all costs, and Dedalus is trying to make them all the best of friends. Meanwhile, Dudley discovers he has an interest in Harry's world, but his parents are less than pleased when they find out.
Hahha, this story is good so far, I love how confused Dudley is about the Wizarding World.
Summary: The war against Voldemort is not going well. The Ministry of Magic has fallen and the Order of the Phoenix is scattered. Harry Potter and his friends are ruthlessly hunted by Voldemort and his Death Eaters. There is no end in sight for our heroes…
BUT SUDDENLY, OUT OF THE DARKNESS, ABSURDITY INTERVENES!
Nominated for QSQ 2008 Best Humour Story!
Hahaha! Great, loved it. I liked how you used the suspense of Voldemort's arrival and death of Hermione in the beginning, making it seemingly a serious story, and then took it to the humor level with the cement truck killing Voldemort right at the end. :)
You are a great writer.
Thanks for the review, Fenrir_Confringo; I'm glad you like the story! I do feel sorry for Hermione, since I only killed her off just to set a very dark mood - but her death was not in vain! It made Benjamin Dover's entrance into the story all the more gloriously absurd!
And remember, cement mixers solve all problems!
Tim the Enchanter
Summary: A potion has been created that has the ability to strip a wizard of their powers: a potion the Ministry of Magic couldn't wait to get their hands on. After the Battle of Hogwarts, lesser convicted Death Eaters are given a choice: go to Azkaban, or spend the rest of their lives as Muggles. While many people refused such a degrading option as a matter of pride, one Draco Malfoy chose the potion. Now, cast into the city of London, Draco both struggles with, and eventually enjoys his adaptation into the Muggle way of life.
But what happens when the effects of the potion turn out to be not-so permanent?
Wow, I really enjoyed this! It was a fascinating story line--very original. That's the kind of fics I like to read :).
Keep writing! I love this story so far!
Summary: On the day of James and Lily's wedding, Sirius Black must handle a nervous groom, a bride in tears and give a speech he hasn't written.
It is going to be a wonderful day...
I am mudbloodproud of Hufflepuff and this is my story to for the challenge in The I Challenge Thee Challenge thread on the beta boards.
Oooh, very good! I love how happy Sirius was for his best friend. I loved it, great job!
Author's Response: Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed it. Terri
It’s Halloween, and love is in the air! Or in the closet, to be precise.
Neville and Susan have been together for thirteen wonderful months, and it’s time for Neville to propose. However, romance has never been Neville's strong point. What will he come up with?
I thought you did the skeleton in the closet slant very well! Very lovey, and sweet, too.
Summary: Keedie Dante has experienced many amazing things during her time at Hogwarts, including the hushed up drama that was the Chamber of Secrets. However, with two overachieving friends and a headmaster who does not even know she exists, Keedie feels that perhaps her seventh year will not be too spectacular. However, Dumbeldore sees her potential as a writer and enrols her in a simple writing course. Here, she meets the mysterious and terrifying Tom Riddle and they instantly get under one another's skin. She is drawn to his dark determination towards some unknown goal and he is fascinated by her, in every way. However, Tom's friends do not approve of Keedie and her unconventional ways and Keedie has many people trying to keep her away from the dark young man as well. Something inside tells Keedie that she can make him better, but even he assures her that this is an impossible task. But she's not one to give up easily...
"He is a dark one, Keedie. Try not to let him consume you entirely."
This story has the characters Albus Dumbledore, Armando Dippet, Moaning Myrtle, Rubeus Hagrid, Aaron Dante, Harry Potter, Ebony Abbott, Minerva McGonagall, Melena Creevey, Ollivander, Gregor Holmwood, Horace Slughorn and, of course, Tom Riddle and Keedie Dante...enjoy!
Winner of "Best Romance Between Other Characters" and nominated for "Best Female OC" in the 2009 Quicksilver Quill Awards
Holy crap, Keedie dies.
Author's Response: Fraid so
Damn. That was a good chapter. Loved every minute of it. The last line made me laugh, hahah. I felt all of that pain because I've lost someone I loved that way, so it was a very personal chapter for me. You captured it well, so kudos for you (as always!). I'm sad to see this ending, but since it was such a long story I know I'll pop by every now and again and read it over :).
Awww, thanks for the mention! This seriously has been, by-freaking-far the best fanfiction that I have ever had the wonderful pleasure to read. There isn't enough room in this review for me to describe everything I love about this story. Damn. The Epilogue was my favorite. You had me crying, seriously, I had a few tears and at the end I got up to grab a tissue! I'm a sucker, so I expected it, but it was like reading the ending of DH all over again (I mean, the heartbreak I experienced when I realized that was it, no more HP back in '07) mixed with the agony that Tom felt about losing Keeds. The end--when her apparition appeared--that was sooo good, 'If she reached for him, Salazar save him, he would reach for her' that is the line that got me! I can't tell you enough how amazing you were at writing this. And another thing! I don't ever overanalyze anything I read so I don't spoil the ending, so when it turns out it was Tom who she was hearing (I had an inkling...) but I never expected it was through the gemstone and in the future! My Godric, that was very clever. Very well thought out. I love Lord Voldemort. Or maybe just Tom Riddle. Well, they're the same really, as we can clearly see haha. Thanks again, seriously, you're the best, and I'm most likely going to keep reviewing when I re-read it, so...:)
YOU KNOW WHO! I forgot to mention that in my last review. Again--extremely clever. Almost too clever. ;)
Author's Response: Why, thank you. I am rather proud of it. :D
I read this story every day! It's a really good one.
Author's Response: Aww! Thanks, I'm so glad you like it!
I really like how you added the eating death part, it really shows that you took the time to add in the pre-Voldemort stage of his life. Same with the diary and the ring, although those are the parts most remembered about his time at Hogwarts.
I also really like your dialogue, especially in the first chapters (sorry to spot this so late!) when Tom and Keedie argued constantly and when she was with her girlfriends, too. It makes it that much more believable and gives it depth. :) Looking forward to the next chapters!
HAHHAHAH the last part about the diadem, very nice touch. Goes right with my last review.
Author's Response: I need to remind people he's still Tom Riddle. LOL
I agree with Aras Potter, you'v changed my view of Tom Riddle, too, it's incredible. Never thought that would happen, hah. Ahhh, I'm reviewing this story an awful lot, hope you don't mind :)
Author's Response: I know! I used to loathe him. Of course I don't mind more reviews! The more the merrier! ;-)
I really can't get over how good this chapter is :)
Author's Response: It's one of my favourites, too.
Ahhh, yes the cliffhanger. A device well known to be used by you. Love it.
I was a bit disappointed about this chapter, I was expecting more to happen besides conversation, seeing as it is the second to last. I hope all of our questions will be answered by next chapter, because I'm on the edge of my seat still ;). It seems to me that Tom already knows about Keedie's pregnancy, but I don't see how he would...? There weren't any clues that I could spot, unless I just can't read between the lines on this one.
I can totally see somewhere in the finale having Voldemort and Harry at the Battle of Hogwarts and just before Voldemort shoots the Killing Curse at Harry, Keedie's face flashes in his mind, or he thinks of her as Dumbledore preaches about love...or something along those lines.
I can see this story being completely plausible with the series. Every bit of it makes sense. You did a fantastic job doing that, it's not an easy thing to accomplish. Kudos.
I did like the 'Dark Lord' part, and it's funny how Keedie seems to spark all of Tom's pseudonyms for his reign of terror. Also, I must mention that your incorporation of characters we read about when they're much older adults in the HP series is intriguing and a very wonderful idea. This goes with all chapters, not just with Fudge in this one.
All in all, best of luck with the QSQ!
(And I'm the 300th review! -confetti-)
A dedicated fan of your work,
I really liked the part with her mothers ghost and the flashback to when she was seven. All very good things that add deliciously to the story line. I love it. Such great imagination and imagery.
Author's Response: Aw, thank you. Glad you're coping with the break-up. ;-)
