Summary: No candlelit dinner, no getting down on one knee.
This was how it happened instead. During Sunday brunch.Surrounded by Weasleys and babies, instead of violin notes and posies.
With sniping and bellowing, along with the embraces and kissing. But it was no less perfect.
i love this! their relationship was never cliche or done by the book so this adds to it nicely...sending it to my best friend now (and i only pass the best on!)
oh oops! sorry i forgot to add that it's a little hard to understand in terms of who is saying/thinking what sometimes but i still really enjoyed it!
Have you ever thought about those moments that really defined your life? The ones that were pivotal, life-altering? They can be as obvious as your wedding day, as defining as the birth of your child...or as small as a moment in time, as subtle as a glance between one person and another.
The greatest moments of our lives can sometimes be the shortest and simplest of them all.
A missing moment from the Half-Blood Prince and part of the "Moments" series.
not a big fan of 2nd person POV but this is still really good. i hate the fact that we barely got to see anything of H/G in the series. you tap into ginny really well, especially how much she understands Harry.
will there be any more missing moments??
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the read and the lovely review, especially concerning the comment on Ginny, as she is one of my favorite characters, but I sometimes find it hard to write her. I would love to add to this series in the future, though there are no definite plans yet, so the answer is...potentially? :)
Summary: "Ron . . . it was never Harry. It was always you. It was ever only you. Just you."
It's been two months since Ron and Hermione shared their first kiss. Now they're facing another first: their first date. *one-shot*
that was so sweet! i loved it all, especially the little things of harry and ginny too. "I didn't know it was raining."-made me smile~!
Author's Response: Thanks! I love Harry and Ginny so much I can't help but include them even when they're not the main couple :)
Summary: Harry spends his first Christmas after the Battle of Hogwarts at the Burrow. The holiday is filled with Weasley joy, but some nerves for our friend Harry. A surprise waits for a very special someone- but what is it? Last chapter coming up soon!
WHAT?? i was so not expecting that...i'm not sure about it either, but i'm willing to wait to see where you go with it! keep writing!
Summary: It's been two year since the final battle. Hermione leaves the Burrow after returning from her last term at Hogwarts with Ginny when she decides to go home and clear things up with her parents. Ron begins to worry when Hermione starts to act strangely when he visits her.
twilight fan much???? and yes, because i recognised it it does mean that i am too. it was corney in twilight and it was corney here! other than that i liked this chapter
Author's Response: I know it was corny lol. Couldn't resist though. Glad you liked it.
Summary: This fic is a series of missing moments from the time H/R&H were at Shell Cottage, beginning immediately after they Disapparated from Malfoy Manor. JKR shows us what was going on with Harry, but this is my version of what could have happened with Ron and Hermione after one of the most emotional/disturbing events in the entire series.
UPDATED June 2010 When I first wrote this fic, I didn't know what a beta reader was, and frankly, it showed. Thanks so much to Natalie for helping me polish this up and make it more readable. Thanks also to both Julia and Carole, whose helpful comments in the review section allowed me to make some much-needed corrections during the rewrite. I would love to know what you think ~ reviews are very much appreciated!
This was nominated in the 2010 Quicksilver Quill Awards for Best Canon Romance.
what? only seven chapters? but this is one of the best fanfics i've ever read (and i've read quite a lot!!) :( that was an incredible chapter i loved it! so close! you get every little emotion just right and you write ron so well. i've been thinking that you could've actually done this in canon if you wanted because something obviously could've gone on between Ron and Hermione at Shell Cottage during the book, but harry was so busy with everything else to pay attention to it!
Author's Response: You want it longer? You are too kind! Guess I'll pull a Seinfeld and go out on a high note. ;) I fully intend this story to work with the canon or I wouldn't have bothered. Part of what got me thinking about it was how much I loved everything that was already there and how I couldn't stop myself imagining what Ron and Hermione were up to. Bill saying "Ron has taken her inside" was just agony to me. I wanted MORE! So there you are. I'm so glad you are still enjoying it. I really appreciate your continued input and reviews.
yay! finally! there are some times when i wish that harry potter wasn't just all about harry potter and this chapter confirms that...an amazing chapter, truely heartfelt! xoxo
Author's Response: Hey, you're still reading! Thanks so much. :) And thanks for continuing to read and review. I appreciate it.
Amazing again! completely heartfelt and just right for the situation. i was always of the opinion that's Ron's lighthearted behaviour was always just a facade to hide his real feelings. a very insightful chapter.
Author's Response: Thanks so much. Ron's my favorite character, and I love both his silliness and the more serious side we see a lot in DH. He's just so delightfully complex. Thanks again for the kind words.
Perfect! i loved it! (again!) there's not much more i can say as i think i've repeated myself in every review for every chapter! thanks for a great fanfic
PS: what else have you written FF for?
Author's Response: Repetitive or not, I have always appreciated your comments! :) Thanks so much. I hesitate to say what other fanfic I wrote years ago for fear of dating myself... but it was for the X-Files. Hehe. I'm old.
Awesome chapter! i love Ron and you write him so well. you've also captured the essence of the scene really well. i really thought that they were going to get together at Shell Cottage so i don't mind you changing it a bit. Can't wait for the next chapter! xoxo
Author's Response: Thanks again. I really appreciate it!
i really thoguht that they would get together at Shell Cottage...but Harry was too preoccupied. can't wait to see where you take this : )
Author's Response: I got ten bucks that says they do it that way in the movie. I loved the way it happened in book, too. But I really wish we had more of the Shell Cottage interaction. More soon... chapter three is finished, its that blasted chapter two I'm stumped on. Thanks for all three responses guys.
Summary: It's meant to be the happiest day of her life; the day Ginny Wesley marries Harry Potter. Then why is it that she keeps wondering if she is doing the right thing? When Ginny overhears something on the morning her wedding day that makes her blood run cold she struggles with a choice. Go thought with the wedding and keep what she heard a secret or break it off and risk loosing the only person she has ever truly loved. And what is the truth about what she overheard outside her bedroom window?
Harry and Ginny aren't the only ones with problems. Hermione and Ron have plenty to worry about. Will the two young couples manage to get through there issues and still stay together?
nice chapter! i'm not sure that Molly would say that to hermione like she did, it doesn't really sound like her. i suppose that this would make harry be absolutely sure that he wants to marry into a family of red-heads!
Author's Response: say what sorry, im a tad confused! :D this is my first fic so i am probably not very good at getting the charicters spot on! :)
Summary: I hadn't seen him since I was eleven, but he had a rather distinct look about him. It was hard, after all, to forget that black hair that stuck up in the back and the bright green eyes behind those glasses. And the scar — I had always thought it neat to have a scar shaped like a lightening bolt.
Jane Martin sees the odd, quiet boy she went to primary school with years ago in a jewellery shop and she's shocked to see how much things have changed for the boy with taped glasses and baggy clothes. *one-shot*
i don't often read stories that involve characters from outside of the series, but this is actually really believable and i really love it!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you gave it a chance and liked it :)
Summary: It's been a year since the famous Battle of Hogwarts and Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny are just starting to get on with their lives. With Harry and Ron starting Auror training, Hermione going to Muggle University, and Ginny having to make a life changing decision at the Quidditch World Cup, the distance will put our two favorite couples under stress. Tune in to see plenty of love, friendship, and close encounters!
i like this chapter...arthur is such a cool dad! no confusion you made it really clear who was talking!
Author's Response: you're right, arthur is amazing! and thanks so much :)
Wow this is exactly what i've been looking for! a post- DH story that has everything down to the names right! and it's really fluffy!!!! keep on writing and i'll keep reading!!
Author's Response: Thankyou! I really like writing fluff, I have other drama stories in my head but I just love to write Harry and the gang their happy endings. It will always be fluffy, but there actually is plot coming! I've got the next 4 chapters ready to go and I'm still writing frantically! :)
Summary: Years after the events of "Deathly Hallows," Ron has an important question to ask Hermione. Can he ask it? What will she say?
NIce...i knew he wouldn't stuff it up! others just like this would be welcome and eagarly read!
Author's Response: Hmmm. . . . . I haven't thought of writing any more romantic one-shots, but you never know! Glad you liked the story! :)
Summary: On a night soon after Voldemort's destruction, Charlie tells Ginny the legend of Luceafărul. But is it her story as well?
Nice! very heartfelt...sorry and happiness. is that a true Romanian tale or did you make it up? i always loved Charlie!
Author's Response: Yes! Luceafarul is a real Romanian epic poem. I read it ages ago, and now I can't find it anymore, so some of the details might not actually be perfect. I have a feeling I made up the bit about the princess' hair being red...but I blame that on Charlie. He's one of my favorite Weasley brothers - I feel like he has this whole backstory that no one knows, and it's probably really beautiful and really tragic. I wish I had it in me to write it. But maybe someone else can do it.
Summary: What if the characters in the Harry Potter films were portrayed—not by actors—but by the book versions of themselves, as created by Rowling? How might things unfold on that set? What would the characters think of the changes made from the stories they’d already lived out… to the ones written for the script?
This fic is a series of one-shots, posted as chapters, each from the perspective of a different character who is dealing with the changes occurring between the book and the script.
Holy Movie Canon, Batman! This fic won the 2011 Quicksilver Quill Award for Best Chaptered Humor Story. Thanks so, so much!
oh i needed that! lol I just hate the movies sometimes, for how different to the books they are! love the idea of this though! i especially liked the Remus and Tonks one and poor Ron can never do a thing right! promise me you'll write a Remus and Tonks one for HBP PLEASE??!! their relationship was just so off in the movie and her hair! urgh! (Wasn't sure though whether the actor/characters were meant to be post-series or the same time as the movies because, ignoring deaths, Remus and Tonks would be together or R/H and H/G wouldn't...)
Thanks so much!
Author's Response: Sorry its taken so long for me to respond to this--I didn't see it until now somehow. :) I'm actually working on the next chapter right now, and hoping to post in the next couple of weeks. So watch for it! I will not be devoting a chapter to R/T, but I will include them in other ways... I've heard SO many people complain about the way they've been handled in HBP and DHp1. LOL.
The locals in a sleepy corner of the Cheviot Hills are surprised to discover that they have new neighbours.
Who are the strangers at Drakeshaugh?
Nominated for: Best Post-Hogwarts (Chaptered) story - Quicksilver Quills 2011 and
Nominated for: Best Post-Hogwarts (Chaptered) story - Quicksilver Quills 2012
hmmm...i'm interest to know where you're taking this, but other than that, i liked it, it was...normal. Ginny seemed a little OOC, but she was obviously nervous and I'm wondering what's up with their living situation, have they moved or do they not live in Gimmauld Place? But it was very enjoyable, thanks! (oh, FYI i've been slowly reading all of your stories and loving them, especially Grave Days and Aurors and Schoolgirls! thanks!)
Thanks for the review.
I know where I’m going (I hope). Ginny, as you realised, was nervous. You will find out more about the Potter’s sudden appearance at Drakeshaugh as the story progresses. I don't want to tell you everything immediately. Hopefully, if you have questions you'll keep reading to find the answers. Next: When Jacqui met Harry. (Actually, the chapter will be called The Pick Up.)
