I'm a mother of two who is by FAR the biggest HP fan in the house. I wrote THE MISSING CHAPTER to help me through my withdrawal over the series ending, and it was very therapeutic.
Summary: This is a one-shot that takes place immediately after the 36th chapter of DH in which Harry has a few other conversations following his chat with Dumbledore's portrait.
This was lovely. You just reviewed my piece, The Missing Chapter, and I was anxious to see your take on the battle's aftermath (no pun intended). It was so nice to get some extra time out of that final night--thank you. I especially enjoyed the scene with the Malfoys--short and low key, but I bet that's exactly what Harry would have done.
I'm feeling a camaraderie with you as we are both mothers who seem to be the biggest HP fans in our households. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your pieces.
Author's Response: I recognized your pen-name right off, Becky. Actually, when I got the notification that I had a new review, I was wondering if it might be from you, and I'm so glad it was! I'm pleased that you enjoyed the Malfoy/Harry interaction and found it to be realistic and low-key. I tried hard to avoid too-sappy encounters with Snape and then with the Malfoys, as I figured that would be completely off-canon. I, too, feel a sense of camaraderie with you. We mothers must stick together! Thanks for reading and reviewing! cj
Summary: The Dursleys have left Privet Drive and are in hiding with Hestia Jones and Dedalus Diggle. Hestia and Mr. Dursley are constantly fighting, Petunia is avoiding the wizards at all costs, and Dedalus is trying to make them all the best of friends. Meanwhile, Dudley discovers he has an interest in Harry's world, but his parents are less than pleased when they find out.
I'm reading your story for the first time and am enjoying it very much. I love the idea of following the Dursleys during that final year and expanding upon the changes of heart that Petunia and Dudley seemed to have at the beginning of Hallows. What fun!
Summary: My take on the first of those 'nineteen years' between the 36th chapter of DH and the epilogue.
Warnings: contains an unusually-shaped ring, a nosy neighbour, a rude shop assistant, shaving mishaps, thoughtful gestures, threatening goblins, and, unexplained appearances of Romantic!Ron and Romantic!Harry. You have been warned.
Rating is for *mild* innuendo and *mostly* innocent interactions but I wouldn't let my 9 year old read it.
it's so fun to get back to your story. Thanks for keeping up with it. Can't wait for the Yule Ball...
Author's Response: Hi Becky! Good to hear from you again. I am torn about the Yule Ball - should I post it right away (it is finished), or wait until I've written the chapter after? I guess you lot will know my decision soon enough, right? Stay tuned. cj
Gee, let's see: wait in breathless anticipation for delicious-sounding marriage proposals, gorgeous gowns & romance galore, or get immediate gratification? BRING IT ON, CJ!!! Becky ;)
Author's Response: I'm editing it now! I sure hope it lives up to your expectations. cj
Bravo, once again. It was great to spend some simple time with old friends, joking and eating and learning. Thanks for taking me back to Hogwarts...
Author's Response: Thanks for stopping by, Rebecca! I am pleased that people are still reading my attempts. Stay tuned. cj
What fun! Boy, do you have your work cut out for you...very ambitious! Can't wait... LOVE the last bit with Ron and Hermione--the romantic in me is purring.
Author's Response: We must be two romantic birds of a feather then, cuz that part just had to be in there imho! Uh-oh. Work cut out for me? Now I'm nervous. cj
What a fabulous read for Valentine's Day! I loved it--true to the characters, romantic, magical, funny--who could ask for more? And I want to LIVE in that garden...
Thanks, cj. Becky
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review! I have not been getting notifications so it was a lovely surprise to see three new reviews that I had not seen. Thanks so much for the positive feedback. It gives me energy to work on the next chapter. cj
Another lovely chapter--thanks for continuing your saga and allowing us to live on with Harry & friends. I particularly liked George's claim that he was in the photo--EXACTLY what Fred would have done... Becky
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review. I;m thrilled you think the comment was in-keeping with the twins' personalities. cj
What fun! I've always taken such delight in Mr. Weasley's enthusiasm for Muggle inventions and his near-misses on the names of things. This chapter was so fun to read.
Author's Response: I'm thrilled you found it fun Becky. Not many mention Mr. Weasley's part in my story. Thanks for the gift of another review! cj
Very nice chapter, cj. Great beginning to forging a bridge between Harry & Malfoy. Sorry for the delay in reviewing--I seem to have stopped getting emails about your new chapters. I'll have to watch for them more closely! It was nice to get back to your story. :)
Author's Response: Glad you discovered the new chapter, despite not getting a notification about it. I have to remind myself to keep checking for reviews, as I often do not get emails about them anymore. I'm pleased you appreciated the scene between Harry and Malfoy. cj
