What can I say. I live in London and am obsessed with a teenage wizard and his friends. Am I mad? Probably Do I care? Hell no!
EDIT: Grown? Um, probably not

For my first foray into the realms of fanfiction I've chosen to write about the Marauders. I'll always stick fairly closely to canon as I think JK knows best. Although I've enjoyed reading about other ships I, personally, don't think I could write with conviction about Ginny/Crabbe or Hermione/Mclaggan relationships.

EDIT: ha ha ha ha ha - How I have changed! I'm now firmly in the rare-pair, SSP, and things that aren't quite conventional camp, although I still loves me some James/Lily.

My second chaptered fic (Apparently Asleep) has started a love affair with Tonks/Remus and confirmed my obsession for all things Sirius. *sigh*

I am indebted to Terri (mudbloodproud) for being a great beta and all round amazing person. If it hadn't been for her encouragement I would have thrown in the towel many months ago.

EDIT: I have made a lot of wonderful friends during my past three years on MNFF, including (in no particular order) Natalie, Kara, Hannah/Bob, Jess, Gina, Lea, Lori, Julia, Minna, Emmahhhh, and the fantabulous BB.

I hope Mugglenet and you enjoy reading my words as much as I've enjoyed writing them. Huge thank-you to my niece, Amanda, for being one of the first to catch the Harry Potter bug and nagging me into reading them.

I’ve written a variety of stories, so here is them arranged in categories. Some are cross- referenced. So a James/Lily may appear in Marauder or Canon Romance

EDIT: I haven't written much Harry Potter fanfiction for a while. It is unlikely I'll update the two chaptered fics I first started as they became a little too long and unwieldy. Sorry about that.

Goodnight, Sleep Tight, Don't let the Pygmy Puffs Bite! by Roxy Black

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Tonks remembers the night so clearly, the night he had died and the war was still to be fought. poor Harry, he took it hard, but even as they were all upstairs in the hospital wing, Tonks managed to despair about her love. Her love which will last forever. No matter what.

Hello, Roxy

Well here's a review from someone who loves Remus/Tonks with a passion, and writes about it far too much to be healthy. Anyway, what can I say? First of all, I think you've captured Tonks very well. The way she has no clue that her powers would be so badly affected by loss is an excellent idea. I'm just flirting with this idea that she'd be afflicted by depression, so I'm interested to read your take on this. I love her declaration at the end. She is, after all, an earthy, feisty character and after the reflective tone of the piece, her passion shines through. I was very pleased to see other charcters, like Molly, being brought into the story. It emphasizes the relationship between the two women. Molly may have been a lot older but they were friends.

I have a few nit-picks.
He’s lost so much and I don’t think he would be able to take loosing something else. You mean losing, I think.
Patronus and Marauder should be capitalised, I believe.

However thery're all incredibly minor points, and in no way detract from the overall tone of the piece. This was written before DH, I presume, because they're alive at the end with two children and no sign of Teddy. I love how they're happy, and that right at the end Tonks has to slip into strict mum mode. After all the angst she's been through, it's lovely to see her having a relatively normal and happy life. *Darn, you, JK, for killing off my OTP!*

Oread, Walking by Seren

Date: 06/26/09 Title: Chapter 1: Oread, Walking

I love this story. This is incredibly original and is a pairing I hadn't considered before, but you have made this believable. The mythical elements that you haven woven into a romance are just perfect. It is difficult to pick a favourite part, because it is all well-written and just heartrending. However this line speaks volumes about your characterisation of Hermione in a way I hadn't perceived her before.
Hermione lost her Lover to the War, and now there's hell to pay.

This story was recommended for reading on audiofics, and I'm glad I chanced upon it, and then read it. It's been a joy to record and I've saved the story because everytime I read or listen, I cry. Amazing take on a rare-pair and an odd girl. Carole xxx

OHH, wow. This is mesmerising. I don't read a lot of D/A or AU fics really, they're not usually my bag at all - but this is very well written (your gift for description and imagery is outstanding - mine is awful so I do love reading someone who writes it well without being too flowery). It is also a very original story- I was NOT expecting Ginny to be a Horcux - that shocked me and made me so sad because then they couldn't be together.

A very well executed story - well done.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading, and especially thanks for reviewing. You rock my socks. I'm glad you enjoyed it and your comment flatters me. I hope you read more sometime :) Thanks again.

The Dark Lord's Blog by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Summary: What does Lord Voldemort do in his spare time? Well, that's an excellent question. Who would have known that the Dark Lord has a blog? (He also has a loyal following of readers, most of whom are Death Eaters and who post their comments.) Voldemort dispenses advice on everything from murder methods to germ protection to Power Rangers to shoes, and gives an account of the life of an evil overlord. But is he posting too much personal information online? And will Harry read it and find out more about the Dark Lord than Voldemort ever intended? Read and see.

GINA! this is fabulous. The poem flows so beautifully and isn't at all awkward or clumsy with the rhymes. It reads like such a good story as well. There was tension, sadness and glamour in the form of the luscious Lockhart.

Hmm, the hairy chin. I wouldn't worry about that. It was Gilderoy's words about Isabel, and he wasn't known for his veracity - ha ha.

Really enjoyable ~Carole~

Author's Response: I love getting random reviews on stuff I wrote years ago, lol. Thanks, Carole.  I'm glad you enjoyed it. I went through a phase where I was writing quite a few ballads a few years back. I still love the challenge of rhythm and rhyme even though I don't write as much poetry. Thanks for reading this, I appreciate it! ~Gina :)

Add together one ladies' man, one Quidditch player, one werewolf, and one soon-to-be traitor. Then, mix in one imaginative idiot, one fiery redhead, one clever Ravenclaw, and one blonde artist. Stir counterclockwise until trouble occurs, and you are dealing with one of the best-loved group of friends in Hogwarts history. Follow the story of the four Marauders and four equally troublesome girls. See them deal with their first encounters of love, sorrow, heartache… and Death Eaters. How will these future Order members cope with the ordeals that life throws at them? Will love blossom in what was once thought a highly unlikely place? What do you do when the person you care about most in the world doesn’t seem to notice you at all? Will a well-kept secret shatter the foundations of a seven-year friendship? Follow the lives of these friends through their last year at school to the dramatic final battle with Lord Voldemort two decades later.

Warnings are for later chapters, and any sexual situations are very minor.

Chapter Twenty Two: "The Snakes Strike" is in the queue. Excerpt:

Perfume filled his nostrils as Emma walked passed and Rosier’s gaze lingered on her bare, pale legs as the group headed outdoors. “Don’t you just love summer?” he inquired of Regulus, a hungry sneer lighting his face.

“This is ridiculous,” Regulus announced in a furious whisper, “we’re never going to get them alone!”

“Have faith, Black,” commanded Rosier smoothly. “Girls are well renowned for their desire for girly chats. I’m sure they’ll slip off the shackles of their chaperones soon enough.”

*Giggles a lot* You know, Whit, I have read this before but not sure if I've left a review. I often steer away from Marauder because as I write it myself I tend to think it will skew my own fic or I'll nick ideas (without meaning to -she adds hastily). However I do like this. I love your OC's because they're not perfect Mary-Sue's but have flaws and some of them are a bit dim (hee hee). I envy people that can write good OC's so hats off to you.

YES! to Sirius singing Night Fever - you've got the era right so extra bonus point from me as that's a pet peeve of mine.

Mind you one of my guilty pleasures is seeing Pettigrew look foolish so I couldn't stop laughing out loud (literally) when he walked into the wall. And Lily and Remus walking ahead of the weirdos is fabulous.
Talking of Lily, I do like the awkwardness with her and James. It's obvious she doesn't hate him anymore and he plainly adores her so I'm crossing my fingers that he gets his girl soon.

Sam seems a bit of an enigma. I can't make up my mind whether I'm going to like him yet, so I'll have to read on...

I also like Kirsty's bag and her nails with Mugle Lover on *giggles or should that be gigles*. Couldn't she have put two 'g's on one nail hee hee.

Small nit pick (I'm not a beta so you're safe)

“Hey, Northy!” cheered James Potter. James, famous for his talent on the Quidditch pitch, was the object of many girls' fixations, with his messy mop of black hair, hazel eyes that were framed by a pair of black glasses, and a mischievous grin that was to die for. He pretty much had his own fan base amongst the girls of the school. He was, quite plainly, a bit of a catch. “James,” replied Sam, nodding to his fellow Gryffindor.

There should be a space between James' word and Sam's words.

All in all, very enjoyable read, but now, dang it, you've hooked me in and I'll have to read it all.

Happy Easter. Carole xxx

Author's Response: Yay! Hello, Carole! I know what you mean with steering away from Marauder Era fics, I tend to do it too for the exact same reasons, and also because I'll probably find some really awesome ones that'll make me want to give up on this one lol.
I'm glad you liked my OCs, they're always the most worrying part.

Yeah, Kirsty gets all the cool stuff lol *envies the bag*.

Thanks so much, Carole, for the great review. I'm sat grinning away now, I bet I could even give our very own Cheshire Cat a rune for her money :p.

Reviewer: Equinox Chick Signed
Date: 02/02/09 Title: Chapter 1: Storm Cloud

This is an interesting story about a much underused, and often maligned, character. I like how you've made Lavender reasonably strong throughout the piece. She may be shallow and superficial but she's got her man and she wants to keep him. What is it about Ron, I wonder, that makes her fight to keep him when she knows he wants out? In an odd way, odd because others' opinions seem to matter so much to her, Lavender's love (?) for Ron stands out as something not affected by public opinion. The Patil twins, for instance, think she should be trying to get Dean back. I like the fact that she knows her limits and realises that trying to tempt Dean away from Ginny would be fruitless.

I love the allusions to the rain clouds all the way throughand the last two lines are extremely good.

Written for the What You Wish For challenge by Ginny Weasley Potter from Hufflepuff.

Date: 07/27/09 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Hello there, Pooja, my love. I'm here to review another of your stories. Well, let's start by saying that this was fun. A nice light hearted fic that deals with that silliest of sins - vanity.

I adored the little details you brought into the story, especially the description of the hairstyle and the intricacies of the potion. Very well done.

I have a few issues with Ginny, who does seem a bit self-obsessed. However, if she's missing Harry that much then I suppose she might get a bit desperate. She seemed rather too vain for a girl who's generally charging all over the Quidditch Pitch. But, I realise this was a story written for a challenge and so I did take the characterisation with a pinch of salt. (and she was rather funny hee hee).

Hermione was well drawn. Knowledgeable, and not just about spells but about relationships too. She was how I picture her. I think you may need to look at some of the phrasing when she speaks. She sounds a bit too formal at times. This works well when she's talking about the potion that they are brewing - because Hermione is a bit of a show-off and does come across as a teacher in canon. However when she's speaking to her friend, I think she'd be less formal.

It was a good fable though. Well done.

Author's Response: Hey Carole! Thanks for the review. I totally agree with Ginny's characterisation. I really wasn't sure of how to carry on this challenge without making her a little OOC, though, so I just stuck to it. And Hermione's speech... well, when I wrote this, I was less conversant with English slang, and frankly, in India, speaking in English means being sorta formal. Hehe. Now I've learned, though. :) *hugs*

Killer Instincts by Ginny Weasley Potter

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: London: Four murders have taken place under bizarre circumstances, for what seems to be an equally bizarre reason.

Harry, a happily wedded man with a wonderful wife and a cute daughter, is an Auror at the Ministry of Magic and is now given a new case to solve with Ron and four other Aurors. Incidentally, the four Aurors include Ginny, Harry’s ‘schoolboy crush’; and it turns out to be much more than a crush when Harry sees her again. What’s more is that Harry is working upon a case that seems to connect to him directly. And once again, it opens up old fears: fears of losing loved ones.

Ron, on the other hand, seems to be tired of Hermione. Tempers are running high and fights are breaking out more often than usual. Are they really falling apart? Or can they sort this out before it is too late?

Then there is the case itself. Who is trustworthy, and who is not? Who is deadly enough to murder four people in cold blood?

Indulge into the gut-wrenching action, combined with warm romance and tingling suspense; while I tell you a story of love, ambition and obsession… a story of what those killer instincts can do. EDIT: MAJOR revamping going on, with regard to plot, characterisation, and general style of writing. I would urge you not to read this until I've removed this notice because I wasn't very good six years ago, and this is as bad as I was. *Places traffic cones*

(Hermione doing yoga made me laugh!) It's an intriguing tale to say the least. I like detective fiction and am usually very good at sussing out who the killer is, but you've got me beat. I suspect EVERYONE! Brilliant. Update soon!

Author's Response: Carole! *squee* Well, I'm so glad that you like the story! Mixing cultures was fun, of course, and I had a ball with all the sari and yoga imagination too. Hehe, you suspect everyone? ;) The first suspect should be me, because I'm the one who's making the characters die, actually :). But yes, that means my primary aim has been achieved. Thank you! Update coming soon!

A Highly Combustible Situation by whatapotter

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: When James makes a cocky boast that he knows Hogwarts so well he could make his way around it blindfolded, Lily unexpectedly takes his bet. Now, James has to spend twenty-four hours with a magical blindfold on, fumbling his way around the trickiest areas of the school. If he loses, he must publicly announce his failure, admit he’s not really as cool as he thinks he is, and give a large apology to Severus Snape. If he wins, however, he gains the adulated prize of giving one kiss to Lily Evans.

Suddenly, James is very keen for this bet to take place…

As for Lily… well, at first she thought it would be a grand idea to humiliate Potter, and was looking forward to his embarrassing debut. However, as any student who’s attended Hogwarts for longer than a few hours would know, Hogwarts just isn’t that safe… especially not when you’re blind, have a natural affinity for trouble, and your name is James Potter. Somehow, Lily’s been roped in for Potter-sitting, and it’s starting to look like a very, very long twenty-four hours.

Oh My! This is fun. What an original idea. I love your characterisation of all the Marauders and Lily. Something you've managed to convey is that they both have to be right, don't they? No wonder they're so well suited.

Minor nit pick at the end of Chapter 2 The marauders looked at each other.. You need to capitalise Marauders.

The other thing I like is how the Marauders are all urging him not to be so stupid - ha ha. Remus, obviously has the right plan, but James is so pig headed. Update soon, this is so much fun! Carole xxx

The Cause by Pussycat123

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Marty Price works for The Cause, which involves several campaigns and petitions on a weekly basis. It has become common knowledge within Hogwarts that if you see her coming towards you with a clipboard, you should turn and walk the other way. Or perhaps deny all grasp of the English language. And if this isn’t eccentric enough, there’s also her obsessive written observations of four boys in her year, which will one day make a rather interesting book ...

Remus Lupin, meanwhile, has always been a little different, too. Poor, sweet Remus Lupin is, to the casual observer, the picture of a sensible, hard working student. However, he has three friends who have done more for him than anyone knows and they have done this because of his troubled past, troubled present and troubled future. Why the gloominess? Because Remus Lupin just so happens to be a werewolf.

So what could these two possibly have in common? And how can their stories possibly connect?

I love your dialogue. That scene in Transfiguration when James is partnering Lily is just superb. I can't stop smirking.

Author's Response: Thanks. I basically make people in my stories the way me and my friends talk ourselves (or the way we would if we could think on our feet quick enough) so thanks!

ha Ha ha "Paginate"- you're cracking me up. And Snape giving advice- I LOVE that.

Author's Response: =D Thank you very much. \"Paginate\" was the result of randomly opening the dictionary and pointing. Never a good idea.

The pink-haired Hufflepuff girl; Is that Tonks? please say yes. I love Tonks.

Author's Response: Not necessarily, I don\'t know quite that Tonks would be old enough to go to Hogwarts at this point. I think it\'s just some random pink-haired girl. Sorry. But I have a feeling Tonks was either not born yet, or a very young child at this point.
