Summary:
During the trip to Godric's Hollow, Hermione, through the course of events, comes to realize that her friendship with Harry had become so much more to her - but not to him. This pain, this disconcerting feeling, however, had nothing to do with Horcruxes.
I found this really interesting because I, too, wondered what Hermione meant when she said, 'and... things.'
I don't usually ship H/Hr, but this was quite good. I loved your take on the events. I wish there were more fics like this one around.

I'm what you call a realist Harmony shipper. I really don't think, with Ron in the picture, that there would ever have been a chance for them to get together, but with Ron gone... :D I suppose it's just a 'if only' fixation of mine. I just wanted a bit of my fave ship in canon without stepping on its toes too badly. We know that Harry never had a thing for Hermione in the books, but we truly don't know if Hermione ever had a thing for Harry, so why not?

Wow. This was heartbreaking. Really well written, though. I can't wait to read your other fics if you've written more. At first I was a little skeptical because I wasn't sure who was telling the story but when I found out, it took on a whole new meaning. Especially with the end. I thought it was Draco at first... Even that would have been okay. Voldemort thoguh. Shudder. Amazing. It wouldn't surprise me if something like that would have actually happened in canon if Harry Potter had been written for adults.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed reading this, it scared me when I first thought of it. As to other fics, I'm currently writing four long fics, and one very-long fic, but if any one-shots jump out at me I'll be sure to post them. Although I must warn you, they will in all likelihood be very dark and angsty; Happiness is a bore.
