Hi, I live in Southern California, I'm 14 yrs. old, and I'm in 10th grade. I'm in color guard at my high school(just got chosen to be co-captain for my sophomore year), but I used to be in gymnastics and wish I still could be. I love reading, I'm a bookworm and always have been, always will be. I love fantasy, and my favorite series is Harry Potter, of course! I love reading fan fics- especially romance, my favorite ships being R/Hr, H/G, and J/L. I also like reading Hr/D and D/G, but I don't think they're very plausible.
I'm currently in the process of writing my own fic, about the child of Ginny and Harry (don't worry, they're married; it's just gross otherwise), but i'm going to wait until I have at least two chapters completed before i start posting them.
I think the name Develin suits the kitten more than Gurf. I love kittens! i wish i had one just like him. i also think they could call him Dev for short, because Develin is too long for such a tiny kitten! i like the muggle wands, and i'd like one for myself! it would be awesome. of course it would be even better if there was real magic, but i think that would make the world far more complicated than it already is. update soon! i can't wait to find out what happens next.
Author's Response: I actually got the name Develin when my kitten (the one this is patterned after) was being particularly playful. I kept saying \"You got a lil devil in you.\" Devil in being the key phrase. I\'m working on the next chapter now. Hopefully it will be up soon. Thanks for reading andthe great review!!
I liked this story. The Draco/Ginny stories are always interesting to me. I also like your style of writing. I think you portrayed the characters quite well.
Wow, your story is so involved and complex. It's really interesting & addicting. Please update! I can't wait to find out what happens next!
Great chappie! I liked the runespoor. About the "new partner" thing- does this mean Hermione's going to be an Auror now? Can't wait to read the next chapter!
Author's Response: Isn't Trippy *cute*? Who wouldn't want one? I suppose Hermione *is* an Auror, now . . . at least she's dressed for the part.
Harry did something to his hair, didn't he? Either that, or someone else did... I loved the flying lesson thing! it was funny how ron crashed into the tree when he turned around to talk to Hermione. Update soon!
Author's Response: We will choose to ignore your comment about the hair for the time being. *nudge nudge, wink wink* The scene you mentioned was fun to write. Thanks for the review! We'll update soon! (if we can get more reviews)
Yay! I just checked my email today for the first time in a couple weeks, and there was a notice that you finally updated! iwas so happy! i'm curious as to why Lily reacted so strongly to Lupin's revelation. she didn't grow up in the wizarding world, so she wouldn't have all their prejudices as ingrained as, say, James. why was her initial reaction so violently terrified? and what's happening with Dani? i want to find out! finally, the inevitable part of a review: please update soon!
Author's Response: Yup, I finally chased away the dreaded Writer\'s Block! Good questions. About Lily\'s irrational fear:
I am a Muggle too. *sigh* And I\'ve known about werewolves for a while. Some magical creatures are very publicized in the Muggle world. So Lily has some vague ideas about werewolves, but of course she never thought they were real. She might not even have realized that they existed in the Wizarding world, or if she did, she didn\'t relate to it...she still just thought of them as a fairytale monster. So when Remus told her that he was a werewolf, it was a tremendous shock. And it was kinda dark and creepy in that closet...so she freaked out.
But like you said, the prejudice isn\'t ingrained. So I doubt she\'ll stay terrified...you\'ll see... :)
Dani...haha, you\'ll find out. And I\'ll try to update about once a month, but maybe more often--it depends on how hectic my life is at any given time. I\'m so happy you reviewed...thank you! :D
I just saw your story today for the first time and read both chapters. I think they're absolutely awesome! I love your portrayal of the characters, and I especially love the flying horses. This fanfic is different from most of the others i've read so far- i love your style of writing! Keep up the amazing work!
Author's Response: Thank you so much, crystalphoenix! I love horses, too, which is why I decided that when I finally wrote a fanfic, it would have horses in it. But flying horses are even cooler!~rivers of gold :)
Hey! Sorry i haven't reviewed the last chappies, i hadn't been on mnff for a long time- finals, trips, camp, and loads of other excuses. i'm glad to see you weren't slacking off! i really liked this last chapter, bit of action and everything. oh, and i like how u portray Peter, how he's pitching in and coming up with ideas. i can't wait to see the outcome of the battle! thnx for writing this fic, i love it! ttfn!
Author's Response: Hehe great to have you back. ;) You\'re the first person who agrees with me about the way Peter\'s behaving, by the way. Cheers! *raises butterbeer bottle*~rog :D
Another wonderful chappie! You're doing an awesome job, I love the way this fic is turning out. I liked James' parents' reaction to his letter, it was great! I agree with midnight_me, i would enjoy it if there were more chapters in each year, but i think the pace you're going at is fine if you don't want to write too many chapters for the earlier years. once again, thank you for this great chappie- your story is one that makes me enjoy reading fanfics! keep writing!
Author's Response: Thank you! What an awesome review! :D Okay, you've just seconded the motion-I WILL try to write more chapters in each year. I love writing this fic anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem...Thanks again!~rog :D
If it actually is Harry's diary, then i bet he put a spell on it like Riddle's - wait, Harry wouldn't make a Horcrux, would he? Of course he wouldn't. But if he had- that would change everything.
Author's Response: Hahaha--you'll just have to wait until next chapter to find out! =D There is definitely more to that diary than just an empty book, but it is helpful to think about Harry's character and how far he would actually go.
Thanks for the review!Eponine
cool. Lottie's related to Harry. that's probably why her blood will open the diary. so how will she use the information she gains from it?
Author's Response: Good call! You'll see! Teehee!
Thanks for the review!Eponine
i love your story; the characters and events are very well thought-out and intriguing. i liked seeing draco's side of the first encounter. i'm also glad to see that both draco and harry are growing up. i'm also very curious to find out what's going to happen. did remus take wolfsbane potion? write more, please!
Author's Response: :) I think they are both growing up--perhaps a bit too fast on both sides, but maybe that\'s the price you pay for being magical.
Really good story. Very entertaining, and well written. Good job!
“It’s our rule not to dredge up past things, remember?”This rule is about to be broken.
~Inspired by a worldwide beloved film.
haha, this story is so funny. i love Hermione's freaking out at the end. what is Draco planning to do when she does confront him? when will Thalia tell Calliope that they're sisters? btw, Stephenie Meyer's awesome!
Author's Response: Yeah right, thank you! LOL. Of course I won\'t tell you what Draco\'s planning, nor when Thalia will speak up.
Well, this has taken quite an interesting turn! I can't wait to read the next chapter. Incidentally, that quote in the last chapter, "pearls before swine" is actually quite a bit older than you mentioned. It comes from the Bible, though not with the same implication.
Author's Response: Oh, yes, how could I forget about the Bible? It's ol' Miss Parker that came to mind when I used the quote. Thanks for reading!
Teddy Lupin's first year at Hogwarts. Canon-compliant. Nominated for a 2008 QSQ for best Post-Hogwarts story.
The war is over, and all is well, they say, but the wounds remain unhealed. Bitterness divides the Houses of Hogwarts. Can the first children born since the war's end begin a new era, or will the enmities of their parents be their permanent legacy?
Yay, you updated! You just made my day. I love how all the D.A. brought muggle stuff to Hogwarts. And Violet, buying a bike! I wonder if they'll end up doing anything with it? Keep writing!
Oh, bravo, Stephen! I'm impressed at his levelheadedness in such a stressful situation. I'm also very happy that he finally has the chance to "play the hero" so to speak. The Sorting Hat's going to give Chloe something, isn't it? But will it be the Sword of Gryffindor, or something else? I can't wait to read more!
wow. I'm surprised the house elves sided w/ the goblins. did they truly switch sides? i bet, if they did, that not all of them agreed- there are probably still some that would help the students. but they might have been subdued in some other way, then, to prevent them from giving the goblins away. Does metamorphmaging work that way? would teddy really be able to change his appearance to that of a goblin? it doesn't seem like it would work between species. but this is a really interesting turn of events! i wonder what violet and dewey will do?
Well, Tonks was able to give herself a pig-snout. It's not clear how far a Metamorphmagus can transform himself or herself, but since goblins aren't all that far from humans in appearance, I think it's probably feasible. (Teddy has already made himself look like Professor Flitwick, who supposedly has goblin blood.)
As for the house-elves, you'll have to read the next chapter to find out!
What's in those bags? whatever it is, it probably could stop the aurors- the goblins had to have some sort of backup plan when they attacked Hogwarts. I'm glad Chloe is finally showing a little bit of courage and initiative. Did the Sorting Hat really misplace anyone, or did it just say it did? Or perhaps its lesson was that really, pretty much anyone can fit into any of the Houses, as long as they make the effort and they have some support from their peers.
hahaha. reminds me of the DA. so where are they going to meet? *wink* i think Neville was too hard on Teddy- he did have something important to say, but he wouldn't even let Teddy speak. and he is just a first year, after all. and you'd think he'd identify with Teddy, especially if he's having trouble, because it would remind him even more of himself. ah, well. people are irrational.
