Ah, thanks for the newest chapter. Honestly, the confrontation is very good, but I didn't go for the writing style of the chapter intro. No dialogue, only omniscient observer narrative. It is much better to discover what the characters are doing by following the twists and turns of their dialogues, instead.
Still, an enjoyable chapter. Much success with your studies and glad to hear another chapter should come soon.

Holly is very mysterious. First she disappears in the darkness of time for an eternity, then she suddenly pops out of teh chapter coming at an unexpected but opportune time, and then she recedes again in the darkness of wizard space time.
Can you bring Holly back for more? Soon?

Author's Response: I haven't yet abandoned this tale, although it is on hiatus while I work on other projects, including recovering from cancer. However, Harry and his friends have been on my mind more and more as of late and I can feel the beginnings of a new chapter swirling around in my mind. I appreciate all your patience and hope you will indulge me a little longer.

Dudley wasn't intentionally Apparating, so I think it's believable. And this is somewhere Jo has taken us in the books before, try thinking of Order of the Phoenix! :)

I just have this crazy idea: Did the door close, not because Dudders is unbeknownst to himself a wizard, but because Vernon is one, and, since he didn't get to go to Hogwarts for whatever reason, he has been bitter about it ever since.
The third option, of Petunia being a witch, is unavailable; runs counter to cannon.
