Hi, I'm Lyra. Pronounced 'Leer-a.' Not 'Lie-ra.' It's not my real name :P
I'm a college sophomore studying Romance languages and education. I used to be an English major but academic writing took up too much of my free-writing time :P Since first grade I've wanted to get published. My life goal is to get one novel published, and once that happens I'll shoot higher. p>
I got into the HP fanfiction craze after I finished DH and craved more HP. After seeing OotP, I became a huge Bellatrix fan upon seeing Helena Bonham Carter's fantastic portrayal of her and couldn't resist writing my own fic about her!
HP stats:
Favorite Books (in order): 5, 3, 4, 7, 6, 2, 1
Favorite Movie (sort of in order): 7 pt 1, 1, 6, 2, 7 pt 2, 4, 3, 5
Favorite Characters: Hermione, Bellatrix, Tonks, Narcissa, Andromeda, Sirius, Ginny, Luna, Remus, Hagrid, Fred, and George.
Favorite Ships: Remus/Tonks is my favorite. I support Luna/Neville (is it just me, or does it seem like everyone except Jo shipped them?). I ship all the Black sisters with whoever they're really with (Narcissa/Lucius, Andromeda/Ted, and Bellatrix/Rodolphus--NOT Bella/Voldy). Also, Hedwig/Pidwigeon is adorable, as is Lyra/Theodore (read 'Daughter of the Dark Side!')
Ship I Dislike: BELLA/VOLDY! Voldemort can't love; he would never be with Bellatrix!
The main reason I joined MNFF is to post Daughter of the Dark Side, my AU fic about how the series would turn out if Bellatrix had a daughter. I wrote it from Summer 2007-Spring 2008 as a way to cope with post-Deathly Hallows stress disorder. If you like the Black family, you will probably enjoy it!
At this point I've pretty much moved on from fanfiction, but I will still respond to every review I receive. Thanks for continuing to read my stuff after so many years!
About my stories:
Daughter of the Dark Side: My main fic. It is centered around Lyra, the daughter of Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange. It was chosen as a featured story, so I'd say it's worth checking out.
A Torn Family's Fate: A poem about the members of the Black family and what happened to them.
Not All Stories Have A Happy Ending: Read this if you're a fan of Teddy Lupin and felt terrible that he never got to met his parents! It involves the Resurrection Stone...
The Marauders: A poem about what happened to the Marauders throughout the whole series.

A Warning by Sly Severus
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 4]
Summary: A dream leaves visions of chilling things to come. But what will happen when the warning is ignored?
An entry for the New Years Challenge, the Dreams prompt by Sly Severus of Slytherin House.
I loved this! I like how Bellatrix regrets killing Sirius. I like to believe that there is more to her than just insanity and that she is a person with feelings just like everyone else, so I thought this was great!
Author's Response: I\'m a huge Bella fan. *hugs Bella* She\'s the lead in many of my stories and always has a lot more to her character than the norm. Thanks for the review.\r\n\r\n
The E-Journal of an Evil Janitor by Schmerg_The_Impaler
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 256]
Summary: It's the sequel to "The Dark Lord's Blog," guys! (And girls... and, I don't know, gender-neutral people and centaurs and walruses and parameciums and shrubs and stuff.)
Several months have passed since Filch came into possession of Voldemort's magical powers, and he has taken over Hogwarts.
With Filch serving as The Dark Lord Snoogerblossom, the position of Hogwarts caretaker/janitor is open. Seeing as Voldemort wants his magical powers back, he and his extremely attractive new sidekick, Mungo Phelps, go undercover at Hogwarts, with Mungo posing as a transfer student and Voldemort posing as the new janitor. Wacky high-jinks ensue.
Join Voldemort as he tries to get back his magic, kill Harry Potter, steal Gryffindor's sword to make a shiny new Horcrux, romance Minerva McGonagall, discover Sirius's secret to becoming a chick magnet, and swallow a teaspoon of his pride to mop up spills the Muggle way and wear an unflattering uniform! WARNING: Extremely silly and very out-of-character.
If you haven't read "The Dark Lord's Blog," well, what are you doing? GO READ IT NOW! Just click on my author name and you'll be directed to my chaotic author page, which lists all my wacky stories.
This is on hiatus, dudes. Ooh! But it was twice nominated by nice (and insane) people for the Best Humour Fic award in the Quicksilver Quills thingy!
Also, some wonderful loony nominated Mungo Phelps for Best Male OC, making him if possible even more conceited! (No one had the heart to tell Mungo that he was designed as an example of a terrible OC.)
EXCITING NEWS! "The E-Journal of an Evil Janitor" is now continued as a Twitter blog! Go to Twitter dot com and find thedarklord666. Voldy's waiting!
All right, so I know this is an older story but it's Saturday night, I'm bored, and I wanted a laugh :) I don't think I've ever read about an OOC Voldy who is so believable! This inspires me to write humor fics but the only good HP one I've ever produced involved making fun of my middle school teachers... : /
Voldy is incredible! This story and The Dark Lord's blog are classics on MNFF and I frequently come back to them just because they are so hilarious! I'm sure I'm not the only fan who will always read these!
Btw, if Voldy has Parentheses Overuse Anonymous, does that mean there is such thing as Ellipses Overuse Anonymous? I could use it...

Potter's Pentagon: The Five (Book One) by Schmerg_The_Impaler
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 333]
Summary: WARNING! This story contains a jingle-bell antler headband, a shower of potatoes, boy/girl mushiness, underwear karaoke, family trouble, an excessively adorable werewolf, death, the song "Werewolves of London," betrayal, and the word 'Jordan' five times in a row near the beginning of chapter seven.
Twenty-one years after Voldemort's defeat, five fourth-years are faced with a new threat. Will all of the five stay true to the light side? Will they all emerge whole in the end? Will Jordan Potter ever get a life? You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll gasp, you'll sigh! Part one in a trilogy!
Well, after much deliberation and consideration, I've decided to submit my future-gen trilogy! This particular installment is three years old, so it's definitely different from my current writing style, but I'm quite fond of the characters.
DH is disregarded. It's a total coincidence that one of the main characters is named Ted Lupin.
Starring Quicksilver Quills 2008 Best Male Original Character runner-up Jordan Potter, Best Female Original Character nominees Ivy Potter, Haley Potter, and Emma Weasley, and Best Male Original Character nominee Ted Lupin!
Five times nominated (once for each member of Potter's Pentagon!) for the Best Post-Hogwarts story in the 2007 Quicksilver Quills Awards, and nominated for Best Post-Hogwarts story in the 2008 Quicksilver Quill Awards...
This is good! I love your choice of names, especially Haley and Emma. Both are two of my favorite names in the world! Anyway, I already like the characters' personalities right from the start. I think Emma is my favorite.
Author's Response: Thanks very much! I\'ve always loved the name Emma, but oddly, I\'ve never liked the name Haley much. Ah, well. I\'m glad you like Emma, because she doesn\'t seem like a very popular character.
Aw! And yay, the Potters are adopting Ivy! Now she'll really be part of the family :)
Author's Response: Yep! I\'m glad, too, although it makes the story a bit more difficult to write (not knowing when to use the term \'dad\' and stuff when I\'m talking about Malfoy or Harry, etc.)
A Day at the Spa by Nevilles Girl

Dear Mister Snape,
We are very pleased to present you with this once in a lifetime offer: A free day at Deena’s Magical Day Spa! Just Apparate to the address below and present this coupon to redeem your prize! We hope to see you there!

Ew, Hermione had to touch Snape's hair! At least he finally gets the shampoo he needed all his life! This was really funny!
Author's Response: Thanks for your review!
Potter's Pentagon: The Truth (Book Two) by Schmerg_The_Impaler
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 529]
Summary: This is book two in the "Potter's Pentagon" trilogy. Read "Potter's Pentagon: The Five" first, myesss? Cool.
WARNING: This story contains French people, an internal monologue about a blue orange, adolescent facial hair, good old-fashioned snogging, superstitious truck drivers, a portrait who calls everyone "Mavis," a zoo break-in, some very strange clothes, romantic conflict galore, and Ron Weasley's caffeine addiction. And worst of all, Professor Zabini!
Hogwarts is hosting the Triwizard Tournament, and when one of the members of Potter's Pentagon is selected to represent the school, much excitement ensues. Simultaneously, elections are being held for Minister of Magic, and things are getting busy at the Ministry.
Not to mention the fact that Jordan's made a new Muggle friend without informing her of the itty-bitty fact that he's magical, Haley has found an enchanted diary of dubious origin, Ted's met a werewolf from Beauxbatons, and Emma... well, Emma's not having a good year.
And what exactly is Ivy up to, anyway?
Everyone has secrets. But in the end, the truth will have to come out.
Starring Best Male Original Character runner-up Jordan Potter, Best Female Original Character Nominees Ivy Potter, Emma Weasley, Haley Potter, and Giorgi Anderson, and Best Male Original Character nominee Ted Lupin! Nominated for Best Post-Hogwarts story in the 2008 Quicksilver Quill Awards!
Ooh, great ending! A lot of things made me laugh, like the reference to the Geico commercial and Haley's last line. Oh, and when Emma calls Zabini Mr. Potato Head.
Anyway, I really like Emma as an OC, but I also like Ivy and of course Ted. My least favorite is probably Tyrone...though I shouldn't say that because I've written a story with a character similar to him, I just realized. I probably relate to Arden the most, or maybe Vladislav because I want to be a writer and record everything on paper.
Just so you know, I love this series and will have to read the third.
So I've read the first book and everything up to this in book two and I love it! The Vladithingy part made me laugh out loud and I like how Jordan told Giorgi about being a wizard. I wish I could be her, suddenly taken into the HP world! Can't wait for more!
Calliope and Thalia and Their Inspiration by lucilla_pauie
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 212]
Summary:
Callie and Lia, a Gryffindor and a Slytherin. A lady and a tomboy. Two opposite souls. Two sisters. Separated at birth by circumstances they are determined to discover... and undo. Yes, after being reunited, the siblings plan to reunite their parents as well. Let’s see them accomplish House Unity, too!
“It’s our rule not to dredge up past things, remember?”
This rule is about to be broken.~Inspired by a worldwide beloved film.
I have read all the other chapters in this and I love it! I can't wait for more! I'm not really a fan of Draco/Hermione but I have to make an exception for this one!
Beyond by clumsywerewolf2438
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 16]
Summary: Remus to Tonks after he dies, but before she does.
This is so sweet! RL/NT is the best ship ever and I was so sad because they had to die so soon! I like how this is from Remus's perspective, and I can imagine him saying this easily. Great job!
PS: It is perfectly acceptable to write fanfiction during a math class!
Author's Response: Thanks! Remus/Tonks is my OTP, so I always write stuff about them, whether it\'s math, science, English or Painfully-Gruelling-Tortorous-Chamber-of-Death-Also-Known-as-Gym-Class. Thanks for reviewing!
Dear Teddy by fairy lights
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 28]
Summary:
Right before she runs off to battle, Tonks writes a letter to Teddy.
Loved it! This shows the motherly side of Tonks that isn't really seen in the books, which is what makes it interesting. It was really sad but also happy because Tonks knows she's making a difference.
Author's Response: thank you!
i wasreally curious about the kind of mother tonks was...so i figured id give it a shot.
No - Go by RomioneLoverx
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 28]
Summary: A Ron/Hermione piece from Seamus's P.O.V.
Over the years Seamus starts refering to Hermione as a 'no-go', but when the Graduation Ball rolls around will Ron finally take the hints Seamus has been dropping and ask Hermione?
Quote/Teaser:
“Don’t worry – Hermione’s a no-go, we all know that right Weasley?” I grin.
He’s certainly wasn’t happy at this moment and told me in no uncertain terms to “Bloody well piss off!”
Seamus's POV--interesting idea! I liked this! It was funny and you wrote the characters very well.
Luna's Truth or Dare by Hutchinson
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 523]
Summary: What happens when Luna challenges her friends to a game of Truth or Dare?
This story is so entertaining! I can't wait to see if the Slytherins get them back. I'm also looking forward to seeing more of Luna's actions!
Aw, poor Hermione! I felt terrible for her! But Ron's idea was pretty funny. I also like the bumblebee earrings--very Luna! I was scrolling down and then the chapter ended just like that, so I can't wait to find out what happens next!
Author's Response: I'll try to have the next chapter up as soon as possible. Right now, I'm waiting for the next issue of "To Draco, With Love" to be approved. Sorry about the cliffie!
This was very funny! I think the characters are very IC. I like the Bertie Botts part because it brought back memories! Keep writing!
Author's Response: Ooh, what memories did it bring back? Any funny ones you\'d like to share? Thanks for your feedback... it\'s hard sometimes to keep everyone in character and I feel loads better knowing that I\'m doing alright at it!\r\n
Short but funny! I can't wait to see what Ron does. I hope Hermione forgives him! I also want to say that I like how you characterized Crabbe and Goyle. Only they wouldn't know whether to choose truth or dare!
Author's Response: I love your author name combination! Happy news: I updated the new chapter just a few hours ago! I hope you all enjoy it. You'll definitely have your answer about Hermione forgiving Ron, but Ron makes it very difficult for her! Thanks for the note about Crabbe and Goyle - I usually avoid writing them because they're hard to write, but I'm giving them some scenes in the next chapter....!
A Black Tonks by Mistletoe
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 11]
Summary: It's the biggest battle I've ever faced in my life: my blood or my love? The two can be ambiguous, but in my case, they are black and white, day and night. I had been seemingly repressed by my family for too long, so I did the one thing that allowed me a choice. I ran away.
TT/AB
This was really good! I like how it is in first person and really liked the line 'face our demons.' I was looking for a good story to read about the Blacks, so I'm glad I found this one!
Voldemort: The Psycho Dark Lord of Hogsmeade (Sweeney Todd Gone Potter) by Schmerg_The_Impaler
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 41]
Summary: The final installment of my set of Broadway musical spoofs about Voldemort's life!
This is Stephen Sondheim's brilliant musical, Sweeney Todd, but drastically warped and twisted by me. If you ever wanted to hear a song where Voldemort tries to encourage Fenrir to eat various Potterverse characters, this is the fic for you.
My other two spoofs about Voldemort, those of Les Miserables and Wicked, can be found on my profile. I've also got spoofs of Phantom of the Opera, High School Musical, and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Enjoy!
This is amazing! It really shows similarities between Sweeney Todd and Voldemort. I was listening to the music as I read the songs!
Author's Response: Oh my, thanks! I don\'t get many reviews for this, so each one\'s a treat.
Potter's Pentagon: The Past (Book Three) by Schmerg_The_Impaler
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 683]
Summary: The final installment in the Potter’s Pentagon Trilogy. Read “The Five” and “The Truth” first, myess? Okay!
WARNING! Contains Muggle adventures in Diagon Alley, unusual eyebrows, cheesy clichés galore, psycho Ted, the not-so-lost years of Merlin, a school-wide singalong, the old potato joke, Tyrone’s Princess Bride obsession, Emma’s stubborn denial of the existence of Tyrone’s mustache, a graphic death, a joke shop product as a major plot device, hobo Jordan, Jordan hugging, Jordan pulling pranks, time travel, the Love Shack, angst, and worst of all, Professor Zabini.
It’s the sixth year for Potter’s Pentagon and company, and our heroes learn that in the wizarding world, coming of age has a somewhat weightier significance. Students are busy with an Inter-House Unity Project, Jordan is having weird dreams, Pansy and Ophidias Malfoy have been released from Azkaban, Professor Zabini has a mysterious project of his own, and almost everyone is acting strangely. Meanwhile, at the Ministry of Magic, a man with a vendetta against Ron Weasley is trying his hardest to get him in the biggest trouble possible. Is the only way to save him to travel into the past?
New talents are discovered, new friendships form and old ones change, pasts are dredged up, and, of course, there’s lots of good old-fashioned snogging. And one of the five kills for the first time… while another becomes a casualty of war.
Starring 2008 Quicksilver Quills Best Male Original Character runner-up Jordan Potter, Best Female Original Character nominees Ivy Potter, Haley Potter, Emma Weasley, and Giorgi Anderson, and Best Male Original Character nominee Ted Lupin! Nominated for 2008 Quicksilver Quills Best Post-Hogwarts Story.
I was laughing my head off through this chapter, mostly through the Tyrone parts (Hello Kitty, Love Shack, etc.). I like this story because even though it's HP fanfiction and fantasy, it seems real, like high school with a HP/humorous twist. Although I'm very concerned about Jordan's vision of Emma! She's my favorite character and I hope nothing bad happens!
Yay for Ivy! I like this chapter because even though it's heartwarming, there are still bits of humor that make it interesting, like when Emma takes the candy from Haley and eats it. I'm not sure why, but I found that incredibly funny! I feel bad for Chester. At first he creeped me out because the 'spidery' fingers made me think of Voldemort, but when it said he was a Squib, I felt really bad. As always, can't wait for more!
PS: Malfoy's middle name is perfect.
Hi! It's been a super long time since I've reviewed this. Like over a year. I didn't stop reading, though--I was just way behind on the chapters and decided to review once I'd finished it all.
Anyway, fantastic story, of course. Your characters are written so well and the humor really tops everything off! Emma's my favorite for some reason, though Ted and Ivy are probably next. I'm not sure why I like Emma. She's very like Ron, which makes her hilarious, so maybe that's why. I can't think of a single favorite scene, but pretty much anything involving Professor Zabini and potatoes was highly amusing :)
Congratulations on finishing. I know I'm a little behind on the times, but still. I'll have to read Pride and Prejuiced Plums if I get around to it :) Again, this was an amazing trilogy!
