It would seem that you stumbled upon my author page. Well, I'm Julia, a Ravenclaw on the beta boards, and a Canadian in real life.
A bit about me:
I don’t usually focus on one thing at once, especially in writing. I currently have around five projects buzzing in my mind. Although I barely find the time to work on them, I dare not give up. :]
I procrastinate horribly when it comes to work and cleaning my room. Life is my inspiration. I've become a night owl due to evil time zones. I'm almost always eating something; I love food. I'm the youngest of four, and I consider my friends to be my family. I'll love you forever if you introduce me to good music. Seriously, I will. ;D
Harry Potter book: Prisoner of Azkaban is my absolute favourite, but I also adore Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows.
Ships: James/Lily, and the following when done well: Sirius/Lily, Sirius/OC, James/Sirius, Remus/Sirius, Remus/OC.
Music: Jimi Hendrix, Breaking Benjamin, Incubus, Nirvana, Radiohead, Tegan and Sara, the Beatles, Vampire Weekend, Panic at the Disco, P!nk, Rise Against, Guns N' Roses and many others that would take far too long to list.
Books: HP, Interview with the Vampire, Pride & Prejudice, Angels and Demons, The Da Vinci Code, Gossip Girl, The Willowmere Chronicles, Nightworld, Eragon.
Movies: Queen Of The Damned, A Clockwork Orange, Donnie Darko, Interview With The Vampire, Finding Nemo, Domino, Harry Potter, etc.
Colour: Blue, green, black, dark purple and grey.
Season: Middle-late Spring.
HP Character: The Black brothers, the Weasley twins, Remus Lupin, Draco Malfoy and Mrs Weasley.
Summary: Voldemort's rising reign of terror, NEWTs, death attempts, a Headship, a tangled affair with James Potter, hilarity, grief, love, secrecy, maddness... it's almost hard to believe that I've survived to graduate. I am Lily Evans, and this is my 7th year.
Hi, so, your writing is kind of amazing. :)
I have two little nitpicks, though.
“We’ve been blocked from Disaparating. Try it,”
There should be another p in disapparating.
Also here: I breathed deeply against his color bone.
This should be collar bone.
Other than that, it was brilliant!
Summary: So, it’s James and Lily’s last year at Hogwarts.
All the year ahead of them full of spells, arguments, Quidditch, arguments, detention, arguments...But, this time, something is different. James Potter is more determined than ever to win Lily Evans’s heart and she seems to be considering.
Maybe, just maybe, a year of rule-breaking, rule-following and fighting for their lives will liven up the romance at Hogwarts...
A story that’s centred on the (inevitable!) romance of Lily and James but also one that goes into the darker sides of that last seventh year. Prepare yourselves for a little R.A.B. , a few Horcuxes, a dash of lovesick Severus and more than a few brilliant moments between the fights, the laughs, the fluff and the danger!
Warnings for extra funny Sirius and Remus moments (that include a love-potion gone wrong and marriage proposals due to drink) , alarming giggling spells from a character who bears more than a resemblance to our own Loony Lovegood, Quidditch talk from a fun Alice Vance, evil Bellatrix and Narcissa, and Lily and James in the middle of it, falling in love without knowing...
AU warning (not for some horrifying reason as you may assume – like Lily dying or Remus turning into a chicken – but because two of the characters – namely Lucius and Bella – are in Lily and James’ seventh year as well when we know from canon that they're older! Just a minor difference but then I really needed some nastiness in the story!)
xxx leighpotter ;)
awhh, that was so cute! I loved the ending!
Good luck on your exams, and try to update again soon!! b29;
Author's Response: Treacle_Heart thanks!!!All this good luck probably helped me survive the shock of the exams!!!I\'ll update soon!
Summary: I'm not really sure how or when it happened. I'd say somewhere between when he saved my life (and didn't even mention it!) and our late-night conversation. Or maybe in third year, but I just repressed it. No matter when it happened, something clicked with James Potter, and I felt like a fool. Especially when I learned that he had a girlfriend. Hopefully with stories of a nude Petunia and my charm, he'll see the light.
This will be six chapters.
Awhh, that was adooorable!
I especially liked this line, on the outskirts of forever. It sounded really poetic to me. ;]
Just so you know, you forgot to make it so it's officially completed. Heh.
Anyway, thank you for a marvelous read!
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! (And I officially completed it! Thanks!)
Summary: James Potter is about to begin his seventh and final year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He has plans for this year, big plans, and they just so happen to involve a girl by the name of Lily Evans (as if they hadn’t for the past six years).
Lily Evans is doing the same, starting school and setting goals. And her one goal for this year is to keep the thing she loathes most in the world, as distant as wizardly possible. That thing just happens to be James Potter.
The girl that he wants, wants nothing to do with him.
And the boy that she would love nothing to do with, won’t leave her alone.
As if that isn’t enough to deal with, Voldemort is growing stronger everyday and he may just change their lives in a way they never thought possible.
A story of Lust, Heartbreak, betrayal and discovering that true love lurks in the most unexpected places.
A/N: Although this is Primarily a James/Lily romance, the Marauders and some original characters star in it as well.
Soo .. when do you plan on updating?
I'm in love with this fic and I've been waiting anxiously since November.
No pressure .. ;]
Summary: Learning to live, just might cost them their lives.
Lily Evans needs to learn how to really live. Not her imitation of living. Real living doesn't involve homework, school, following the rules, or playing it safe. Real living is taking risks, breaking the rules, being spontaneous, and going to fast. And there is one person that is going to show her how. One summer and James Potter later and Miss Lily Evans might not recognise herself. Too bad, all good things must come to an end.....
"Lily, we're friends. I would never betray any of my friends. Plus, you honestly think I would let old Moldy-shorts get to me?" he joked.
'kay, so this is superfab.
Lily amuses me to no end.
Would he stop smiling for one second? Could that be any more annoying? Lily thought to herself.
Her thoughts sound exactly like mine!
Summary: They are all talented, some more than others. Some play Quidditch. Others are known for their brilliance in academics. They are the Marauders and a group that has lain in the shadows up to now, called the Lady Firebrands, known for their hot tempers and rather subdued practical jokes.
Romance will bloom.
Rivalries will blossom.
The author will try to stop using so many bad plant puns.
The story of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs' NEWT years will be told.
These are the Amphibious Lizards.
None of them noticed the pair of light green eyes shining out from one of the trees of the Forbidden Forest...
Ouh lala, if this is who I think it is ... ;)
I really enjoyed your portrayal of Remus when he's away from the moon... although quite creepy, it was wonderful. :D
Keep up the great work, love.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! Yeah, I thought about ways to keep Remus human while still being affected by the moon, and that was the creepiest, so it went in. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the review!
Yay! An update!
'Kay, I loved this chapter. You use expression so well, it's as though you yourself feel how each character feels.
Keep up the amazing work!
Oh wow, I wasn't expecting that! I love your writing style, and I can't wait for you to update again! b29;
Author's Response: Thank you very much!
This is so good! I love the ending, poor Remus. The plot is really great! Update soon!
Author's Response: Thank you!
Summary: Glimpses into Remus Lupin's life at Hogwarts, all trying to answer the question: Is Remus a normal wizard who just has a “furry little problem”, or is he a werewolf among wizards, trying to fit in where he may never truly belong?
Now with more Snape down the Whomping Willow! Check out Chapter 10: A Highly Amusing Joke and Chapter 11: Skyfall
Okay, I looove this fic! It's really fab. And I liked how you were showing the Marauders as real people, like with James experimenting with LSD, it makes him seem real-er.
A quick nitpick: swan in the lake,
I think you meant swam in the lake
Keep up the amazing work!
Author's Response: Yeah, I guess "swan in the lake" doesn't make much sense does it? Especially considering that he's a stag. I'll fix that. I'm really happy you're enjoying my fic so much and that you think I show the Marauders as real people; it's very flattering! And I guess the LSD thing does make him seem more real, but I really just put it in there because I think it's funny. ;) Thanks for the review!
Summary: When Lily Evans causes Remus Lupin to be humiliated in front of the entire school, he vows revenge. That's when he comes up with The Prank. It's guaranteed to make Lily's worst nightmare come true, if he can pull it off. And on his own...he probably can't. But with the help of Sirius Black and his Ravenclaw friend, well, anything is possible.
ooh, I was scanning the Humor fics, and I happened across this one. I love it!
I can't wait for the next chapter!
- I agree with rayasunshine; I like seeing Remus being mischevious, he's always portrayed as boring, and a party pooper.
Author's Response: I'm glad that you like it! The next chapter should be up soon- I'm really sorry for the long wait. And I've always thought that Remus was more fun then he let on. :)
Summary: A potion has been created that has the ability to strip a wizard of their powers: a potion the Ministry of Magic couldn't wait to get their hands on. After the Battle of Hogwarts, lesser convicted Death Eaters are given a choice: go to Azkaban, or spend the rest of their lives as Muggles. While many people refused such a degrading option as a matter of pride, one Draco Malfoy chose the potion. Now, cast into the city of London, Draco both struggles with, and eventually enjoys his adaptation into the Muggle way of life.
But what happens when the effects of the potion turn out to be not-so permanent?
This is great! Update soon! :)
Author's Response: Don\'t worry, I hope to have the next chapter up in about a week.
Wow, I love your writing style! The imagery is great, in that last paragraph!
This is definitely one of my favorites!
Author's Response: Thanks so much!!!! I really appreciate it. :)
Summary: The final installment in the Potter’s Pentagon Trilogy. Read “The Five” and “The Truth” first, myess? Okay!
WARNING! Contains Muggle adventures in Diagon Alley, unusual eyebrows, cheesy clichés galore, psycho Ted, the not-so-lost years of Merlin, a school-wide singalong, the old potato joke, Tyrone’s Princess Bride obsession, Emma’s stubborn denial of the existence of Tyrone’s mustache, a graphic death, a joke shop product as a major plot device, hobo Jordan, Jordan hugging, Jordan pulling pranks, time travel, the Love Shack, angst, and worst of all, Professor Zabini.
It’s the sixth year for Potter’s Pentagon and company, and our heroes learn that in the wizarding world, coming of age has a somewhat weightier significance. Students are busy with an Inter-House Unity Project, Jordan is having weird dreams, Pansy and Ophidias Malfoy have been released from Azkaban, Professor Zabini has a mysterious project of his own, and almost everyone is acting strangely. Meanwhile, at the Ministry of Magic, a man with a vendetta against Ron Weasley is trying his hardest to get him in the biggest trouble possible. Is the only way to save him to travel into the past?
New talents are discovered, new friendships form and old ones change, pasts are dredged up, and, of course, there’s lots of good old-fashioned snogging. And one of the five kills for the first time… while another becomes a casualty of war.
Starring 2008 Quicksilver Quills Best Male Original Character runner-up Jordan Potter, Best Female Original Character nominees Ivy Potter, Haley Potter, Emma Weasley, and Giorgi Anderson, and Best Male Original Character nominee Ted Lupin! Nominated for 2008 Quicksilver Quills Best Post-Hogwarts Story.
I have been waiting for EVER for you to put up the third part of PP!
Your writing is .. perfection. :)
I'm a huge fan, and I really hope you update soon!
Author's Response: Oh my gosh, thanks so much! That's a lovely compliment, and I'm just about to submit the next chapter now.
*SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!* ZOMROMROMROMR TYRONE & EMMA ARE ADOOOOOOOOOORABLE!
So, you're really fab at this. And reading your writing always puts me in a strangely good mood. :)
Keep up the super crazy good work!
ps. tehe, "crazy good" is the thing on those poptarts commercials. x]
Author's Response: Thank you so much! Writing these stories always puts ME in a strangely good mood! And of course I recognized the 'crazy good'-- I'm the Poptarts Lady, remember? Haha...
"George’s wife Eglantine", This doesn't happen to be George's wife from Long Distance Extenable Ears, does it?
Pansy is such a cow. Her brother, whose name I cannot spell for the life of me, he seems ... different. Nicer-ish. Less evil. I want a Teddy Wolf!
I hope junior year gets better! Update soon!
Author's Response: YEPS! You have a good memory! And yes, Ophidias is a little bit different from most of the Malfoy clan, as you shal see later... but he's still a Malfoy! And yeah, junior year's actually going pretty well. It's just, I was doing a lot of activities at the time, but now both of my plays are over and I'm not up to much.
Summary: Fred and George Weasley get an idea for a prank from doing something they thought they would never do—their Potions homework. Follow them on their journey through pranker’s block, powdered bicorn horn, Muggle food coloring, a random fish, a suction cup, Harry with a toothpick, a very dry avocado, and much too much flour. What happens when this seemingly innocent prank turns wacky? One-shot.
Oh my goodness, I laughed sooo hard at the end! I love love loved it! It was soo creative! You did a great job! :)
"Harry attacked me with a toothpick and a piece of pie."
"An army of first-years assaulted me with raw meat,” he grimaced, “and celery sticks!"
Author's Response: Treacle_Heart. Nice screename! Just a quick note, I'm not responsible for any injuries sustained during laughter. Especially if it was "sooo hard." I don't know why I chose such violence with various food items, but I'm glad you liked it! *Hugs* Thanks for your review!
Summary: Romance is what is driving the Gryffindor seventh years. Frank and Alice are still going strong, but what about everyone else? Remus and Ellen refuse to admit their feelings for each other; could Lily be harbouring feelings for James? And all they know may be thrown into question when Sirius and Madeline get a shocking surprise...
I agree with Sdogg; you have an amazing plot, and you shouldn't rush what need not be rushed.
I can't wait to read more! :)
“JAMES POTTER WANTS TO SHAG LILY EVANS!”
Oh my goodness. I laughed so hard at that.
Already, after one chapter, I loooove it. :)
It amuses me further, as I read this chapter, I was listening to "Banana Pancakes" by Jack Johnson. Listen to the song, it's so .. happy-go-lucky, and It seemed to contrast with the chapter.
Summary: James would do anything to get inside Lily’s head. Lily would do anything to get away from James. Lily was brewing a banned potion. James went to find her. Lily made a mistake and the potion exploded. James got his wish, but is it much more than he bargained for?
After a year the Epilouge is now up! Come read for a bit of fun!!
Runner up QSQ - Best Chaptered Canon Romance
Reason for Nomination:
This is the most unique take on how James and Lily really got to know each other. The story is hilarious and keeps you laughing throughout, but it never lets you forget the serious stuff. Plus, she somehow manages to end each chapter with a nice cliffhanger.
Oh my, I haven't read fanfic in a few months, and I opened yours. I must say, I loved it! It has a good amount of humour, and I think you're keeping them IC. :D
Keep up the fabulous work!
Author's Response: *Celebrates 40 Reviews* Wow thanks so much for the compliments! I'm glad you liked it! I'll try and keep it up the chapters and do quick updates.
