Of Christmas Past by Chaser921

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny find themselves in a Muggle hotel in Godric's Hollow on the Winter Solstice. During an enthusiastic snowball fight, Harry and Ginny step through a stone circle that transports them seventeen years into the past. This may be the only chance Harry has to spend with his parents, and it may also be what he needs to figure out his relationship with Ginny.

The warning is for later chapters.

Edit: So, this was originally strictly a Harry/Ginny fic, but Ron and Hermione kept trying to get together too, so I felt like I had to change the category. And there's a bit of Lily/James in there too, though they're already married, and I've also added a bit of Remus/Tonks. Poor Sirius is the only Singleton (though he may manage to get a girl of his own)!

Edit: This story was cannon until after Deathly Hallows came out, so I changed it to Alternate Universe, but it's still pretty close to cannon. Only a few things will end up being different when the story ends.

Edit: I've changed all of the chapter titles to the titles of Christmas songs that I felt reflected the events in the chapters best. Tell me what you think! Does it fit?

i'm so glad that it's finally been posted and ll the technical problems have been solved. i can't say that i'm not a little dissapointed (well, a lot) by the delay but i'm glad hermione and ron are in this chapter along with everyone else.it is lacking in some excitement and i can't see any exciting thing coming in the future. but as always i still ove the story cos i'm a sucker for timetravel and i know you won't let me down with the end result.

Hogwarts Houses Divided by Inverarity

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story

Teddy Lupin's first year at Hogwarts. Canon-compliant. Nominated for a 2008 QSQ for best Post-Hogwarts story.

The war is over, and all is well, they say, but the wounds remain unhealed. Bitterness divides the Houses of Hogwarts. Can the first children born since the war's end begin a new era, or will the enmities of their parents be their permanent legacy?

Our Little Secret by Kerichi

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story

It was like a wizard tale. The clever Slytherin helps a hag who later repays the debt. Except that Rose Weasley wasn't a hag, and Scorpius didn't expect to call in the favour.

You don't fail to impress. Hopefully rose meeting the malfoys won't be as dreadful as in 'meet the parents'.

Author's Response: The Malfoys aren't dreadful, they're just...Slytherin. Very, very Slytherin. :D

I'm first to review! I feel a bit bad about never reviewing your stories so i'm telling you now that i love this story. Please, after this story continue writing next generation, maybe albus? Some rose/scorpius storys annoy of with the cliche and rubbish characterisation. But you blow them away. I've fallen in love with your funny and clever scorpius and the cute over protective draco. My friends think i'm crazy because i think draco and snape are hot. Thank you for updating so quickly, your the only one in my favorites who does so. I like it how scorp is afraid of harry's house. And rose using his soap. And your author notes are always interesting.

Author's Response: Tell your friends that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in their philosophy, heh, and they're missing out, not appreciating Slytherin men! I'm happy you like my characterizations and thank you so much for reviewing! That's a dream come true of writers, when lurkers come out of the shadows to say they're enjoying a story. Hopefully, stepping into the light didn't burn, you didn't burst into flames, and you feel even half as sparkly writing the review as I did reading it, :D, so you'll make my day again sometime! ;)

Darn it, i'm not first to review, but i am getting better at this review thing even if it is so tedious on my mobile. Writing reviews is oddly satisfying so i hope you enjoy.

Lily should watch EastEnders. It's one of my favorite shows even if it isn't amazing. I've never watched corrie or emmerdale but eastenders is so unrealistic with random deaths and affairs that i think it would interest lily. Also, skins or hollyoaks because of all the sex but i don't think nana granger would approve. I don't think lily is shallow, but that she is a typical teenage girl.

I like how scorpius is sensitive but also trying to be macho. And good work on albus slowly getting to know scorpius rather than immediately be friends. You interpretation on the oakeny family is interesting and i love over-protective draco and witty open-minded astoria. Is there a chance the malfoys meet up with the weasleys and potters? I can imagine it being hilarious for astoria and rose as they will immediately get along but a bit embassing for scorpius.

I'm assuming the big showdown is coming. It would be cool if the weasleys were watching but i think the parents should be there for moral support and stuff.

Good onya for another good chapter and hopefully my reviews are getting better (and shorter).

(p.s do you know of any good next gen fics? Here or on any other site)

Author's Response:

I have a perfect record on review replies. Straight O's in the Unresponded column. I think that's proof I enjoy reviews, lol.

In my R/T stories Tonks watches EastEnders with her Gran, :D, so I agree about the multigenerational appeal. I don't see Nana Granger recording anything with lots of sex, either!

Malfoys VS. Weasleys might just be a one shot. That would be fun to write...and hopefully read.

There's such a thing as quantity and quality, but any review you write will be the perfect length.

My Secret, My Hell, My Burden by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years •

What could possibly be a higher form of madness than falling in love with someone who does not share your feelings? Well, for starters, if that person happens to be your best friend, then that certainly qualifies.

Albus Potter has fallen prey to this quandary, and through a self-exploratory journey, he learns much about what it’s like to love and what it’s like to lose himself.

This placed second in the February Great Hall Month of Love Challenge - First Love.

This fic was nominated for a 2010 Quicksilver Quill Award - Best Same-Sex Pairing.

You deserve more reviews than you've got. So, hey i read this and i liked it. Actually i loved it. It's both refreshing to see an as/s pairing on this site and to read an angst story in which the main character doesn't in on about killing themselves and wanting to die. In other al/scorp stories i've read there seems to be a happy ending and i liked how you ended with them not together but still friends. I loved the portrayal of scorpius as not so stuck up and i'm wondering if your other stories with him have the same personality. Please keep writing this ship as you do it justice and expert more reviews from me on your other stories later

Author's Response:

This is, honestly, my favourite thing that I've ever written. I adore Albus so much, but even though it pains me to put him through so much, his personality, as he dwells in my brain, is just predisposed to it.

I hate suicide angst same-sex pairing, because it's just...boring. Yeah, I get it, you love someone and they don't love you back. Get over it. Lol, lots of bad memories for me, I suppose. I really wanted it to be raw and honest, not whiny and pathetic. I knew, as soon as I finished writing it, that I'd done what I'd set out to do. And while it will never get very many reviews, since it's SSP, it still remains my best and my favourite.

In my brain universe (Merlin, I have a lot going on up there), Draco is a changed man after he escapes Voldemort's rule. It doesn't come easily, but he does evolve into a decent human being, though he will always be insufferable. That change in him is reflected in his son, whom I believe will be a good man all of his life, both because he chooses friends like Albus, but also because he wants to be one.

I am planning on more ALbus/Scorpius, since the few people that have reviewed this story told me that it's pretty good. I really do like these two, so I can't really stay away, now can I?

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. You seriously just made my week.

The Note He Left by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

A note was discovered in the aftermath of Harry's capture at Malfoy Manor. It's sweet, it's romantic, it's...complete fluffy rubbish.

What will happen to this heartfelt missive? Will it find its intended recipient, or will it be lost in the wreckage of Voldemort's former occupation?

The more i read one of your stories the more impressed i become from your ability to stray away from stereotypes. I love draco and am always amused when i read of draco meeting the potters after the war. In my head draco is a changed man after WWII, still self-centered and concerned with class and status but gradually becoming less cold and prejudiced. So of course i loved this story.

I used to be a die hard harry/ginny fan until the fluff got to me and i discovered non-canon:) but this fic made me happy and smile. Have you considered writing draco/astoria.... I've only read 2 stories and already i'm requesting! Sorry, it's just good writers are getting rarer :) happy writing

Author's Response:

Haha, welcome back. :D

I like to write about a variety of subjects, because I believe, in order to be a well-rounded author, I should step out of my comfort zone and into something that I haven't previously considered. I, too, have been scalded and maimed by gooey Harry/Ginny (as well as James/Lily) fluff, just about to the point where I almost can't read it anymore. Still, I will only read about these from an author that I trust not to scar me for life, lol.

I agree about Draco. I'm actually in the middle of writing an epic length Draco fic, which will show his life through his own POV from the summer before sixth year, all the way up to when he gets married. The marriage itself, I have a separate fic planned, as there is a challenge on the beta boards about weddings. Since I detest fluff in most forms (which is why this particular fic here isn't what I'd call my favourite), it's going to be angsty and dark (yay!). My version of Astoria won't be what you'd expect.

You wouldn't believe the number of plot bunnies in my head. I can and will write about nearly anything, because there are so many interesting subjects out there. I'm so glad that you're interested enough in my ideas to want to read more of what I have to say about the Potterverse.

Take care and happy reading!
