"The thing about growing up with Fred and George, is that you sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve."
Hello! I'm Padfoot, or PnP if you're in a rush. I like Harry Potter. I write fanfiction. I read fanfiction. You read fanfiction. Read my fanfiction.
The website above is my friend Orii's. I've got a few poems up on there-- feel free to check them out :D
Random info for stalkerish stalkers:
Hogwarts House- Gryffindor
Fav. HP Book- Sorcerer's Stone
Fav. HP Characters- Sirius, the Marauders (which includes Sirius, of course, but he's my favorite so he gets special recognition), the Weasleys, Luna, Neville, Tonks, Hagrid, the Trio, and Lily. Funny how a bunch of my favorites end up dead, isn't it?
Fav. Ships- Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, James/Lily, Remus/Tonks, Neville/Luna
Fav. HP Movie- Sorcerer's Stone (gotta love consistency), Goblet of Fire
Fav. Fan Fic Authors- Schmerg_The_Impaler, Pussycat123, MagEd
Fav. Authors- J.K. Rowling, Harper Lee, Cornelia Funke, David Lubar, Ellen Raskin, Sarah Dessen, and many more
A Weasley Christmas- first fic ever. Based off 'Twas the night before Christmas', only with a bunch of the lines changed so it pertains to Harry Potter.
A Letter For Fred- another poem. Rather sweet, from George to the recently-deceased Fred. I'm quite happy with how this one turned out.
The Trouble With Being Trusted- My very first Gauntlet, where a I wrote as Tonks. Includes younger versions of older characters, and the protaganist escaping death many times.
Who Killed the King?- My murder mystery WIP. I'm finally working on some more chapters, so hopefully they'll be up soon!
The Marauding Roses of Gryffindor- joint fic between me in a couple Gryffs. It was set up and put together by Michelle. And although I didn't win the date with Sirius, I got Remus instead, which is pretty awesome.
When Love Prevails- my second Gauntlet, co-written by the fabulous Brittany. Probably the weirdest James/Lily story you'll ever find. I wrote the wacky Lily ^_^
I hope to have more up soon, but feel free to drop a review for any of those!
My favorite HP quote of all time is as follows:
"--but you get these massive pus-filled boils too," said George, "and we haven't worked out how to get rid of them yet."
"I can't see any boils," said Ron, staring at the twins.
"No, well, you wouldn't," said Fred, "they're not in a place we generally display to the public --"
"-- but they make sitting on a broom a right pain in the --"
Yes, I have barely any emotional depth. Why do you ask?
Other favorite Quotes:
"You know, Minister, I disagree with Dumbledore on many counts...but you cannot deny he's got style..." (I liked it better when Kingsley said it in the movie. That was hilarious!)
"NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"
"I'll join you when hell freezes over."
"Hello, Minister!" bellowed Percy, sending a neat jinx straight at Thicknesse, who dropped his wand and clawed at the front of his robes, apparently in awful discomfort. "Did I mention I'm resigning?"
“Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love. By returning, you may ensure that fewer souls are maimed, fewer families are torn apart. If that seems to you a worthy goal, then we say good-bye for the present.”
"If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals."
"Keep muttering and I will be a murderer!"
Oh, and don't forget Elvendork! It's unisex!
"And, quite honestly, I've had enough trouble for a lifetime"
hee hee, this story is phunny! i really like it! but it hasn't been updated in like 4evah- your still continuing it, right? purleez? puppy eyes?... and i like how Neville is proud!
Oh no! Ginny has found her in an emergency situation of dire need. Harry lies before her and Ron and Hermione are long gone. Whatever shall she do? Well, it looks like Ginny is feeling a bit Dramatic.
ha! that was phunny! i liked how she kept checking the rating... 10/10!
aww, you'll love me forevah? haha draco's such a craphead... i don't like him much either... great though!
holey schmooley, long fic! but it was fabulous still! i do tend to love sirius fics... if you cant guess why :)
Author's Response: Um ... nope, not a clue. ;D Thanks for reviewing!
I think this is just about the oddest pairing I've ever seen. You have originality points there, my dear.
I, of all people, fell in love
You have Aberforth well in-character. It's hard to get him grumpy and romantic, and you pulled it off well.
She laughed rarely; she said her family would most likely die of surprise if they ever heard her laugh.
Haha, that was funny in a sad sort of way. Your portrayal of Amelia was refreshing; we never see her a lot in the books and it was good for you to take her on.
I know you would have found it highly amusing, you with your strange sense of humour.
Ah, that's Dumbledore! I like the Albus/Aberforth- it's defienetly canon. I'm not sure if this was published before DH, but it's very well-done.
This was a nice read, and a cute pairing that I would have never thought up. I especially like how you had it in letter form. It was a nice touch, and very original and non-annoying as far as romances go ^_^
Yaay! It was updated! :)
It's cool how Tabby can talk to Marcus; he reminds me a lot of Luna. I suppose that's the intention, but I still thought that her seeking him out for advice was nice.
Quinn sort of reminds me of Hermione, except she's a little less forgiving. I hope Nikki apologizes!
Great chapter, dear- I hope the next one is up soon (and has more of lovely Decimus)
PS Sorry about the Gareth thing in the last review. It made me look stupid and I was probably thinking of another story :)
Author's Response: Don\'t worry about it! I\'m willing to answer any questions my readers have.
And, that was the plan. Quinn was supposed to be like Hermione (smart), but I had to make her more different.
poor Deci! he's my favorite character, and him and Tabby make such a cute couple! pleez update soon!
PS wait is Gareth related to Tabby? you might have mentioned it but i'm too lazy to look :)
Author's Response: I\'m trying to update! But my computer won\'t work . . . And, no, Gareth is not related to Tabby.
WOW! What a wonderful story! This was really well-written.
"Her robes swirled behind her, flaming red hair whipped against her cheek, and the wind was raising her higher and higher. She was a kite, buoying along in the breeze — then a bird, gliding, swerving, diving, only to shoot back up, no longer craving the solidity of earth beneath her feet."
That was a strong beginning, full of imagery (I hope I spelled it right!) and really gives a description of Gin-Gin. Her feelings are really strong- I could feel as though she was actually real and saying those things.
"And it would be a nice change from summer at the Burrow, although she highly doubted that there would be any broom sheds that she could break into where they would be staying."
Heehee, that made me giggle. I like how you added her breaking into the broomshed- even the littlest details make the story great!
But my favorite part was your characterization of Charlie. We don't see him a lot in the books, so it was nice to see someone take him and flesh him out a bit. Who wouldn't want an older brother like that? I know another reviewer said that Ginny might have been closer to Bill, but I'm glad you used Charlie.
The last paragraph was a great way to end the story. It kind of makes the reader think of what Ginny does in the future ^_^
Great story! I enjoyed it.
*bows to HoH*
This was a nice first chapter. It's an easy but exciting read, especially since you ended it with a cliffie.
I like how Luna's sort of grownup, but she's also the dreamy person she is in the books.
Famos reminds me of Mundungus. He's certainly an unpleasant character.
Oh, no! What's wrong with Luna? Perhaps a certain golden-haired magic Muggle will know...
This was a very lovely chappie, even if it did end with an evil cliffie. Again, nice characterization of Luna.
That was really believable in a scary but nice sort of way. I love your portrayal of Ginny- it;s nice to have fics before she became some lovesick teenager.
If Tom Riddle had lips, they would be smirking
Here we have ourselves an in-character Tom Riddle! *claps* He was done spectacularly (I can't spell today). It was creepy how he was controlling Ginny like a puppet *shudder*
“Er, no offense Hermione,” Ginny grinned nervously, “but right now, I don’t think I’ll ever look at a book the same way again.”
Ha, that was a great line. It shows her feelings after Tom did all those things to her.
I like how you had the diary entry at the end. It was a nice way to finish the story.
This was a lovely read and I'm glad I found it. Great job!
What a wonderful story! Hearthlinks ties in nicely to this one. A very nice read- there aren't a lot of stories from Michael's POV. I love how you included the minor Hogwarts students- especially the Gryffindor girls. I really like your writing- at some parts it felt like a real HP book!
PS- My favorite part would have to be where the girl (can't remember which, aah!) says the part about robes not clashing with purple. It was hilarious!
Author's Response: Thanks, PnP! I am very flattered that this old story is still attracting some attention. Yes, I had the goal of mentioning each student in Harry's year at least once. I assumed that Michael would know the ones that Harry didn't. Anyway, now you know what Zabini was up to and why he asked Sally-Anne to the ball. Thanks for reviewing, GhV
Oh my goodness, why have I not read this story before? I LOVE IT! It's my favorite of all your fics... I love everything about it- the characterizations, the plot, the END *squee* and I don't care that it hasn't some of the biggest Marauder era cliches in it (such as James's cousin)... you made the story work, and it's amazing.
I'll be back with more reviews soon, but as for now, I've been wondering-- what happens to fair Iola? Does she die in the First War, or what?
Author's Response: Well, I never really wanted to think about it too much, because there's the small fact that we know pretty much for certain that Harry's only living relatives are the Dursleys - I'm sure things would have been very different if Iola brought Harry up! So she probably doesn't survive. But I'd really like to hope that she goes out with a bang, perhaps doing something heroic like saving Sirius's life. Mostly though I try not to think about it! Thanks very much for the review, I'm glad you like the story.
I can't believe it's over.
I haven't been the best reviewer in the world, but I've read every chapter and loved all of them. I laughed, I cried, and I believed that Ted was good, even though I shouldn't have.
The End's Not Near; It's Here and The Aftermath were my favorite chapters. I loved the suspense when Lily and James went to see Voldemort- I forgot about canon and was worried that they'd die. And I loved Sirius saying that they'd eloped; you've characterized him wonderfully, which isn't something many fanfic authors can do.
My favorite part, however, was when James proposed. It just seems so fitting to have him do it when they were in school... but, yeah, I really liked that scene. Brought warm fuzzies to my heart :D
I sort of liked the epilogue- but the negativity was mostly because I was sad to see it end :D I adore the Sirius/Emmeline pairing; I could see them marrying, if they'd lived in the alternate universe Sirius talked about. I can see why Emma doesn't love Harry like Sirius does; it's a bit Snape-like, but it works rather nicely. I'm also really glad Ted died; I don't think it would have been fair if he'd lived.
All in all, I really enjoyed this story, so thank you very much for writing it-- even if it did take three years! I'll defientely miss the updates, but this will go with Uncle Fred Calls Him Dick in my list of rereads. (Speaking of the latter story- will you ever write anything like it again? Because I love it to pieces; it's one of my favoritetest fanfics ever) :D I don't think I'll be able to read your other James/Lily just yet... I like this one too much, haha.
Well, I hope this wins the QSQs-- I nominated it for the canon romance category. Good luck!
Until next time indeed,
Author's Response: I can't really believe its over, either! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much and like the final, suspenseful chapters. They were really hard to write, but I'm rather proud of how they turned out. And I'm glad you liked the proposal! I was smiling like a crazy person to myself the entire time I wrote that scene. ;) The ending is definitely bittersweet, but I couldn't have dragged it out any longer! It would have been nice to see Sirius and Emma together for real, but this is as happy as I could see them realistically. As for Uncle Fred Calls Him Dick and writing something like it -- I do have an idea in mind that I think I've mentioned in my profile called "Giving a Fish a Bath." I started to write it and then realized that it was almost TOO much like Uncle Fred Calls Him Dick with various family members be introduced one by one in the first chapter. Hopefully, though, I'll get into it and redo it and post it soon! Thanks for the QSQ nomination! :)
I seriously love your writing. It's sad, happy, thrilling, and romantic, all mixed in together. You're fabulous at James/Lily- there's a bumbling cliche here and there, but all romances have them. I'll review the other chapters later, but I just want to tell you how much I like this story, and hope you write more. This story'll defienetly have a little home in my favorites :)
Author's Response: Thanks! I think there are some cliche\'s in here as well -- this is one of the first fics I ever started writing, and the next Lily/James fic that I have planned (since I can\'t help but be in overdrive!) I want to try and be extremely different from the usual fics! Of course, that\'s besides the point. I\'m glad you like this story enough to put it in favs! :)
Aw, what a sweet chapter. Your characterization of Peter was marvelous- perhaps the best in all the Marauder fics I've read. You had an error or two- 'Marauder' wasn't capitalized, but that's all right.
I hope the next chapter's up soon! This is a really enjoyable fic.
Author's Response: Thanks! I do tend to mess up on what should and shouldn\'t be capitalized -- I\'ll have to try and fix that! I\'m glad you liked Peter. I don\'t like it when he\'s neglected in fics, because, although he turns out to be evil, he was still a Marauder. Of course, I recently realized I myself was sorely neglecting him in my story, and this was my attempt to salvage that. I\'m glad you thought I did a good job -- I plan on having a little more of him in the story. :) Hopefully the next chapter isn\'t too far off!
i love this story! my fav parts are joshgrobanfan4evah, "that man's face is about as attractive as a jury duty notice", and like everything else! i personally hate the power rangers and i think draco would be, like, the *green* one, with a snake visor- thingy, instead of yellow, b/c the yellow is a woman.
Author's Response: Thank you! Well, we know Draco likes girls, because he gets married and stuff, but he doesn\'t have to be super-manly for that. My favourite ranger was always the blue one. (I never saw the show, but I read the junior novelizations when I was in elementary school.) You are the first person ever to comment on the part about \"as attractive as a jury duty notice.\" Congratulations!
i always knew the real story would be something like this! lol... nice job- "Prongs, are you strutting?"
Author's Response: >< Yeah, it ain\'t the most original and ingenious of plots. Thank you though. I really really am my harshest critic.
loved it! only one nitpick- since Ginny's a seven of a seventh, then Molly was part of a family of 7... and there were only three Prewetts in your story... still loved it! 123456789/10!!!
very cute! i like how you added your sister into it... i thought it was Hermione too, but then you said it was your sis... 10/10
Author's Response: Thanks! I guess she is kinda Hermione-ish, but Draco wouldn\'t know she was a Muggleborn witch-- he\'d just think she was a Muggle.
okay, okay, i broke my promise. i usually won't read anything above 3rd- 5th years, but this was getting so many lovely reviews so i had to see if it deserved them. and it sure did! i love this stroy- its very funny but sad and i wanted to kill dick too! or at least pants him! great job!
PS i was sad when you said there was no sequel... are you going to write anything more like this? i hope so!
Author's Response: I\'m glad you decided to read it, I guess reviews really do help in more than boosting me ego! ;) There is actually a short-fic sequel in the making . . . keep checking in!
