Countdown by arus_knight

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: The events of last year weigh heavily on Harry's mind. As he works to live out his life, trusted friends are by his side to help him.

Love your stories! The plot is very original; I admire the ideas you have involving magic, but you still stay true to the essence of JK's writing.
Your pacing is very good too, the plot is not rushed at all, but very enthralling, keep up the good work, and hoping for an update soon!

A Few Detentions and A Story by LaneTechFreshie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: James Potter: Marauder. Lily Evans: Prefect. They're both seventh years at Hogwarts. They're also about to have a pretty interesting year--complete with a few detentions, pranks, confusion, and laughter--in which they get through school, make some trouble and maybe, just maybe, sort out their feelings for each other.

Thanks to all you who have made it possible for this story to be in the Top Tens. It was a very happy moment when I first saw my story on the list, and I love being able to go back and see it there now. Still. Yay!

Throughout the latter half of 2010, and the first half of 2011, I re-edited this story. The changes were mostly to fix stray (and annoying) grammar and spelling errors, but also to rework some plot points in an effort to stay truer to canon. I also updated the style; having written this story so long ago, my writing has definitely developed (and I would say gotten better), so I edited to reflect that. (I apologize for the errors that were in the story before all this editing. I found them immensely distressing when I reread my chapters. Heartbreaking, really.)

Big “thank yous” go to the three people who helped edit/nitpick the first edition of this novel: violagirl, fairiesandcream, and Omagus.
And yes, this story is up on Fanficition.net under the penname: Io.Sono.Emilia.
Of course, as a disclaimer, I’m not JK Rowling. The Potterverse does not belong to me, but I am in it and love it.

Wow! Just finished this story, and it's fantastic! It's definitely one of the better Marauder - era stories I've read. There were definitely a lot of great plot highlights, and I love how you didn't leave the darker action until the end, but focused more on the finality of the end of their year and their lives after Hogwarts; it feels a lot more appropriate. You're a really talented writer, and stay quite true to the series without sacrificing originality. Your original characters are well thought out and dynamic, and I'm glad Nikeia isn't your typical Mary Sue. She's really unique and her personality suits Sirius so well.
Anyway, I commend you on a fantastic story, it lessens the pain of the series being over :)

A Glint of Gold by hpmaniac666

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Harry's always been good at catching the Golden Snitch. But something equally valuable seems to be sliping through his fingers... Takes up straight after HBP, One-shot.

It's beautiful! I'm always annoyed that Harry and Ginny never got as much attention as they deserved. There were subtle hints but I always think their relationship could have been built up more important in the Order of the Phoenix and not just in the Half Blood Prince. As for the movies, I don't even want to go there, it makes me angry.
Absolutely love this story though, you're a great writer!

The Curtain Call by Amelia Bedelia

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: James and Lily spend their summers together producing plays, though neither are happy about the presence of the other. With James, as the set designer, and Lily, as the actress, tensions run high.

As Happily Ever After As They're Gonna Get by cjbaggins

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: My take on the first of those 'nineteen years' between the 36th chapter of DH and the epilogue.

Warnings: contains an unusually-shaped ring, a nosy neighbour, a rude shop assistant, shaving mishaps, thoughtful gestures, threatening goblins, and, unexplained appearances of Romantic!Ron and Romantic!Harry. You have been warned.

Rating is for *mild* innuendo and *mostly* innocent interactions but I wouldn't let my 9 year old read it.

Absolutely love this story!
One little thing is that although Ron does love his food, I think he doesn't mention quite as often as in your story. The characters are all very true to the books though, and I love that you can keep their personalities true while extending from Jo's work.
Can't wait for the last few chapters! I really do hope you finish. I'm on my toes...

Author's Response: *groan* I agree about Ron. There's a fine line between keeping a character true to the original books, and going overboard. I admit I mentioned it too often in that case. In my defense, for me, the chapters are very far apart; for my readers, they can see them all at once, lol! Thank you so much for the review. I love hearing that I've kept the characters true to Ms Rowling's work! cj

The Lions of Gryffindor by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: It is June 1976 and The Marauders are at the top of their game. From the outside they look to have everything. But appearances, as the saying goes, can be deceptive.

James is discovering that not everything in life is his for the taking. Sirius knows he will have to defy his formidable family. Remus lives in constant fear of his life beyond Hogwarts. As for Peter... Well, Peter is struggling to live up to his friends.

The ties of friendship are strong, but war is raging and with a dark power rising those ties will inevitably fray.

Added to the mix is an adversary called Severus Snape, some lost House Points, a prank or two and a whole lot of Lily.

This is a Marauder tale.

This is a story of what made them special.

This is a story of why it started to go wrong for The Lions of Gryffindor.

OH MY GOOD GODRIC! Lions of Gryffindor won the 2009 QSQ for Best Marauders' Era Story. Amazed and incredibly grateful to those who nominated, judged and have beta'd this fic. THANK YOU.

Wait by MagEd

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Despite their best efforts, the word "wait" is always in the vocabulary of Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley. Kicking off after the final battle is done and Voldemort is gone, this is how Harry and Ginny sent "wait" to the wayside. *one-shot*

The Affectionate Bet by mutualunderstanding

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Harry and Ginny had a good reason for not showing any sign of their love when they dropped off their boys at the Hogwarts Express. They had just wanted to win their daughter a little money. After all, she was the only one who believed that they'd be able to keep their hands off of each other for two days. And what a fiasco that was.

Date: 02/20/12 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Ah, so perfect! I never really thought about the lack of affection, since the epilogue was kind of centred around their kids, and the continuation of the story, but I really really love this! You capture the essence of the Potter kids so well :)

Birthday Wishes by lily meet ginny

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: As Harry turns twenty nine, he realizes that not all wishes occur right after they are made. Some take time to happen. Set on 31 July, 2009. This is cannon time compliant. I do not own the characters of this story.

When they take off the masks and reveal their true selves, can they move beyond their past and try to build something for the future?

Not usually a fan of Draco/Ginny fics, but this is perfect! I really think their personalities suit each other if done well, and you're spot on!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I wouldn't say I'm a fan either, and I can't remember why I wrote this, but there was a reason, lol. I could sort of see it, although I've read much better takes on it than this one. Thanks again for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed it! ~Gina :)

Sleepless Night by Northumbrian

You make me, cynical and fearful of babies, want to have children, ha!
You are such an exceptional writer, with an amazing talent for creating dynamic characters that one can connect with. This is especially difficult because you're working with pre-existing character created by Jo, but I adore your characterizations of Harry and Ginny. They are so close to how they are in the books, but realistic as they are now new people after wards.
I really commend your writing, both your voice, imagination and the more technical aspects and grammar. I have not come across a single story penned by your hand that I have not enjoyed, keep it up!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review, and compliments.
I try to keep harry and Ginny in character, and true to the epilogue (which, in my opinion, shows a lot about their marriage and parenting style in very few words and shows how great a writer JKR is). I know that I’m not the daft teen I once was (sorry daft teens everywhere but we all grow up eventually) and I try to mature Harry and Ginny in a logical way; Ron less so :-)
Of all my “family” stories (It Takes Two, E.C.C.E.N.T.R.I.C., First Sight, this, Beard Hunters and Ginny’s Rival) this is by far the most read and reviewed. I’ve no idea why it’s so popular. My long suffering betas (all of them) deserve credit for correcting my commas etc. over the years.

Behind the Curtain by Virgil

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

“…he fell through the ancient doorway and disappeared behind the veil, which fluttered for a moment as though in a high wind and then fell back into place… Sirius must be just behind the curtain…”

Sirius Black didn’t die when he fell through the veil in the Department of Mysteries. He was transported to another world: our world, where Hogwarts doesn’t exist and magic lives only in the fantasy books. As Sirius tries to understand this strange new world and find his way home, he runs into some unlikely old friends. Nothing is the same behind the curtain.

The summary captured my attention immediately, and now the story is too! This is all so mysterious, and the little hints everywhere are driving me crazy. I'm so excited to read your future chapters :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! :D I'm glad my story managed to capture your interest!
