Temporary by Queen of Serpents

Rated: Professors •

Hermione knew this thing she had with Malfoy was purely physical. She knew she shouldn't have fallen in love with him. And she knew that when he said he loved her too, a dozen misfortunes would befall them. Yet they both did admit it and just when she thought this temporary relationship might just last, she was left all alone and he?...Well he became one of Them.

RUNNER-UP in the Dangerous Liaisons Awards for "The Where Did That Come From Award" (Best Twists and Turns) and WINNER in the He Had it Coming Awards.

Secrets, Lies and Guinness Pies by adjectived noun

Summary: Lupin handles Harry's grieving in the most insightful and mature way he can: by taking him out and getting him utterly plastered. However, as one rather astute young auror notes, drinking and pretending nothing is wrong is NOT dealing with your problems, and Remus Lupin must confront his grieving.

If Arbitrare fixed everything, then why do I still have a snorkack on my sandwich?

Author's Response: Oh dear. Well, spin around really fast 20 times. I\'m not sure if that\'ll do anything about the snorkack, but it\'ll be really funny to watch.

Harry Potter and the Liar's Vow by TatteredBloodyRose

Great story so far! Although, I am confused: Ursula is about Tonks' age, but she went to school with Snape and the others. Are they younger than in canon? And I'm sorry if this appears twice.

Wake Up by coolh5000

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Every morning Ron arrives at the shop and wakes up George with a cup of tea. One morning, however, George doesn't wake up.

This started as a 500 word drabble for my DADA class and turned into a 2000 word one-shot instead, before becoming two chapters. The prompt for my drabble was to use an overdose so be warned that this fic is not a happy one. It is actually I lot darker than I really imagine the Weasley family being after the war, but this is what came out when I started writing and I think it is possible.

please note that the warning is for attempted suicide only

An epilogue has arrived and I promise that I have now finished, though I have found this interesting to write so I may carry on with this version of the Weasley family at some point

This was a great story. I liked the epilogue, but I think the story could have held up on its own without it.

The Vindication Of James Potter by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story

"James Sirius Potter, it is the judgment of the Wizengamot that you have been found guilty. You knowingly, in possession of sound mind and body, used the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse in the intentional torture and murder of one Gregory Goyle the Third."

James Potter was going to Azkaban for the rest of his natural life, and his whole family was in shambles. His wife and child have fled the country, his sister was missing, and his parents were a wreck. However, James knew that he had larger problems: his guilt was coming more and more in question.

Though he knew that James was withholding information about the circumstances of the murder of which he had been found guilty, Harry had secrets of his own; however, even he could not handle this torrent of trouble alone. Can Harry trust his darkest confidences to anyone? Even family?

How will the Potter clan stop the downward spiral into pain and disaster, and can they recover what they've lost?

This fic was nominated for a 2010 Quicksilver Quill Award - Best Next-Generation Story.

This story was one of the best MNFF stories that I have ever read. Your characterization of the next generation characters was interesting and believable. I never thought that Goyle had the potential as a stand-alone villain, but your portrayal of him was well done. I really liked Anne; she was a fresh character to the universe who did not seem like she was forced into the universe to be a tag-along new face (if that makes since!). I enjoyed how James was so much like his grandfather but had a bit of Ginny's personality too. Each character was so complex, especially Harry, who was not annoying to me as he is normally.

It would be great if you wrote a sequel to this! It would be interesting to see how Mira grows up with her new family and how Albus and Anne are as a couple after the events of this story.

Author's Response: Yayyy, I'm so glad you liked the story. I'm planning on revising the story a bit down the line, if only to clean up the writing style a bit. I had such a blast writing this story, and it was through it that I discovered my propensity for Potter family drama. And I do have a sequel in the works down the line when my works-in-progress are finished or at least under control. I do have a couple stories that go along the storylines of this one. My story Eye of the Beholder detail the events in Nick Barnaby's life that turned him against Harry. About Last Night show when the romance between James and Augusta started. And All the Time in the World shows why Teddy Lupin never made it into this fic outside of an offhand comment. If you're interested in more of the universe, these are compliant to the canon of this story. Thank you so much for your review. It really made my day. :D ~Jess

Snape's Christmas Carol by Sonorus

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

A little bit of fun for the Christmas season!

Severus Snape is a miserable, grumpy, nasty man, feared or loathed by all around him. But can the appearance of a succession of familiar ghosts one Christmas convince him to mend his ways?

Based on the classic story by Charles Dickens. Lightly comic with serious parts. AU warning as Snape has survived the Battle of Hogwarts

It was a great story! It didn't drag on, but it was just long enough. I just have one tiny thing: shouldn't the date be June 3rd, 1998, since the war ended in 1998?

Author's Response: Thank you! And yes, it should.. I'll fix that asap, thanks for noticing :) Have a great day! -brianna-
