Summary: Keedie Dante has experienced many amazing things during her time at Hogwarts, including the hushed up drama that was the Chamber of Secrets. However, with two overachieving friends and a headmaster who does not even know she exists, Keedie feels that perhaps her seventh year will not be too spectacular. However, Dumbeldore sees her potential as a writer and enrols her in a simple writing course. Here, she meets the mysterious and terrifying Tom Riddle and they instantly get under one another's skin. She is drawn to his dark determination towards some unknown goal and he is fascinated by her, in every way. However, Tom's friends do not approve of Keedie and her unconventional ways and Keedie has many people trying to keep her away from the dark young man as well. Something inside tells Keedie that she can make him better, but even he assures her that this is an impossible task. But she's not one to give up easily...
"He is a dark one, Keedie. Try not to let him consume you entirely."
This story has the characters Albus Dumbledore, Armando Dippet, Moaning Myrtle, Rubeus Hagrid, Aaron Dante, Harry Potter, Ebony Abbott, Minerva McGonagall, Melena Creevey, Ollivander, Gregor Holmwood, Horace Slughorn and, of course, Tom Riddle and Keedie Dante...enjoy!
Winner of "Best Romance Between Other Characters" and nominated for "Best Female OC" in the 2009 Quicksilver Quill Awards
Oh...My...God. You are evil!
That is the worst possible cliffhanger! (Except for the fact that Keedie is in the epilogue, so maybe not that bad, eh?)
You continue to amaze me! What an awesome chapter.
First of all, Bring Me To Life is one of my favourite songs and the lyrics fit so perfectly with My Troubled Tyrant!
Okay, what else? I loved how Tom tricked her into agreeing to marry him at 20 with that being his age, not hers!
'Mouth-rape' was pretty funny as well.
The story Keedie's writing is alot like My Troubled Tyrant, isn't it? Maybe she'll publish it after the Battle of Hogwarts (if she survives) under the penname Belledeg.
I liked the scene in Keedie's house with Riddle transfixed by her pictures. And the orphanage part was chilling as well. The Andrew Parker part sounded alot like Chapter 1 of SS/PS!
I'm glad Melena finally came to her senses though it's more to do with her liking Greg than for Keedie, I suppose.
Greg is just the same old idiot, isn't he?
It feels odd commenting on this chapter because I've already commented on all the excerpts you put up from it! Though at least I know the context of all those dialogues now.
But how could you leave us with such a horrible cliffhanger??? Does Tom know any healing spells? The tramp is obviously going to die after being mercilessly crucioed (and deservedly so). Keedie might be taken to St Mungo's. OMG, just realized, she has the baby in there...but you said the baby is born so no worries there, huh?
Anyways, can't wait for the next chapter.
Author's Response: Why would Tom know Healing spells? He's immortal...he has no need for such common things. Did I say that the baby would get born? JK said that Tom turned the locket into a Hocrux after killing a Muggle tramp, so I thought, "I could use that". All I will say about the last two chapters is that they are gonna be pretty dark. Clues towards Keedie's fate have been dropped since the beginning...... :(
I'm no match for Lovemagic, I'm not even gonna try! By the way, that's pretty smart about the resurrection stone (it would go with the Voldy-death scene, where he's scared that Dumbledore told Harry about Keedie because the way you wrote it makes it look like Riddle's thinking of her in the past tense) And my guess is that he accidentally (or on purpose) killed Keedie :(
And this is perhaps the first fic on this site where fellow readers (just me and Hayden, Lovemagic's too impersonal now!) praise (or criticize) the other reader's opinions; just goes to show how involved MTT gets its readers. I have SERIOUSLY never had this much fun with any other fic on this site.
Author's Response: I'm gonna miss you two when this is over. :-)
this is so exciting, I guess I'm gonna be staying up all night reading the rest of the chapters!
Author's Response: I'm so glad you like it. Please keep telling me what you think! :-)
Does the 'going to London' bit mean we won't get almost immediate responses to our reviews? :(
Author's Response: Yeah :( I'm just saying in advance so people don't think I'm being rude!
And a third review...just to bug Hayden!
You're (and I mean Belledeg - so much confusion!) probably cursing (how about Crucio?) us, we're double-handedly (is that even a word...or rather two???) spoiling the story for everyone else with our crazy theories which somehow turn out to be correct!
And sorry about that last sentence, I have a weekness for brackets (seroiusly)!
Author's Response: I think a lot of people kinda want to know the ending, too, so I'm sure they're not too bothered. ;-)
By the way, let's try and break the 250 barrier, you know who I'm talking to right?!
Author's Response: Please do! "A Guy like You" now has more reviews than any other chapter. Congratulations! ;-)
just got back from HBP, really enjoyable though as usual strayed considerably from the book, thought your Riddle was much better than the movie's portrayal of him (I wrote this 9 hours ago and then my battery died!)
Author's Response: Aww, that's so sweet. I've not seen it yet, but I heard that they cut out most of his memories. Shame...next chapter soon. :-)
Voldemort was able to stop Wormtail's bleeding in GoF. I'm sure he'd know all the basic spells. Though you're probably right, he wouldn't really need any healing spells.
By the way, I was mistaken. You never did say the child was born, you only said it was a girl. So Keedie could probably tell Voldemort at the Battle that she was pregnant and had a miscarriage.
Whatever happens, all I know is that you are brilliantly tricky with your replies to reviews, you never really give anything away and continue to keep us guessing!
Author's Response: You're right, he did heal Wormtail. But maybe something prompted him to learn healing spells....
When you say Hayden's onto something, what if it's the 'Bellatrix kills Keedie' part??? Though I really can't see that happening; must be the resurrection stone.
Author's Response: Don't worry, Bella will not kill Keedie, I promise
Awesome! So Dumby confides in Snape! But I can't see where you'll go with that unless you have Snape leave a memory for Harry to follow the Lily ones. But Harry is too preoccupied. I don't know! Whatever you do with it, I'm sure i'ts going to make things interesting.
And I guess I was right, except Voldemort 'understands' way before he looks into Lily's eyes!
Question: does the chapter before the epilogue end at Voldy's defeat...wait, you said there might be a scene in the leaky cauldron where Keedie would see Harry and so either that would be in the previous chapter or it would be in the epilogue...I'm confused!
Author's Response: The chapter before the epilogue ends with Tom leaving to begin all his mysterious adventures with dark magic.
2 more things (REALLY SORRY ABOUT THIS!!!); first, I'm wishing more and more that this was an AU; second, I seem to find it really hard to think of him as Voldemort now; he's just Riddle to me, you've humanized him to such a HUGE extent!!! (then again, he was always Riddle, or rather Tom, to Dumbledore as well!)
Author's Response: I started this story off loathing Tom and now I wish I could change it to AU as well. Now whenever I see or read Voldy, I'm like, "Tom's acting up again!" :D
Yay! Over 400 reviews! Which means we get a second epilogue before Halloween!!!
(And 500 means you write an AU sequel?!)
Author's Response: Right....I guess I have to get busy then. :D
I'm loving this! I can't stop!
Author's Response: Dark Blue is my personal favourite chapter. Please keep reviewing, I love to read them.
The new excerpt is just so sad. And Riddle understands how Mint feels too :(
What happened to Keedie?! Maybe she and Tom got separated after the attack. Or maybe she left him. But why would she leave behind Mint?
You're right, things are getting darker. 'You can come as far as Albania' sounded chilling, as if the Voldemort we all know and love (not) is about to surface and Riddle is fading away.
Author's Response: Okay....uh....remember ages ago when someone said, "I guess Keedie has to die in the end" and then everyone started talking about it? Well....they were kind of right.... :( I wasn't lying when I said she'll be in the epilogue. But, by then, I think Voldemort's mind will be sorta open for hallucinations. *coughs miserably* So this is why he's the way he is. Death beating love. :(
Haha, loved the 'chamber full of secrets' part!
Author's Response: I do love my dramatic irony...
I also love the fact that you're so quick in replying to reviews!
Author's Response: If people are nice enough to voice an opinion, I want to thank them :-)
ooh, the Dark Mark!
Author's Response: I'm so glad someone is noticing all these little things...
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT CHAPTER!!! Loved EVERYTHING, from the aftermath of the fight to the hospital wing to the truth or dare to the Hogwarts Express, everything is going in the right direction for what I predict will be an AWESOME finale!
Author's Response: Aw, thank you. I've got some tricks hidden for the finale. Should be good fun. :-)
OMG! Keedie knows about his possession attempt!
First of all, OUCH! That's got to hurt, even for somebody like Volders!
Second, it fits it so well with OotP, that's why Voldy was going through all that agony-Keedie!
Can't wait for the next one!
Author's Response: Hehehe. Another preview soon, hopefully. Getting harder to find them though. :-)
the only way i can think of them being together is if Keedie becomes a Death Eater, not that I would mind!
Author's Response: And if they're....not togehter? Enjoy chapter sixteen
