Bio:
I am a thirty two year old, on again/off again graduate student who spends my days working as a veterinary nurse and my nights reading and writing fan fiction, much to the dismay of my supportive, yet increasingly lonely husband. I discovered fan fiction two years ago when a certain television program that I loved was prematurely cancelled and I was left desperate to continue the story. I was delighted to discover that so many people felt the same way, and have been hooked ever since.

I am a relative newcomer to the Harry Potter phenomenon, as I only began reading the books last year -- I finished six of them in a little over a week, so it is safe to say that they grabbed me from the moment I cracked the first one. I know that this is going to sound horrible, but I was reluctant to begin reading Harry Potter. It was my hope that I would wait until I had my own children so that we could read them together. This was flawed thinking however since I am not yet a mother, and even if I became one tomorrow, I'd have to wait about ten years before my children were old enough to share the stories with. And let's face it -- ten year olds don't really want their mothers reading to them. I couldn't wait, and I am glad that I didn't.

I believe in adhering to canon. I like to look for moments within a story that leave an opening for interpretation or enrichment. I am not a shipper -- I did not know that they existed until after I wrote Dearest Friends. I'm not sure what possessed me to write a romance fiction about Hermione and Harry, as it is not canon and I had not previously thought that I was interested in romance (alas…my poor husband.), but it all just came out of me in one crazy afternoon.

I have a handful of non-HP stories on fanfiction.net under the same penname. I think that I have a few more HP stories percolating in the back of my mind -- all I need is a few more crazy afternoons…
