I have written only a few Harry Potter fics and all of them are Harry/Ginny. I have a trillion ideas but I can't always get them into words. Edit: So, this was originally strictly a Harry/Ginny fic, but Ron and Hermione kept trying to get together too, so I felt like I had to change the category. And there's a bit of Lily/James in there too, though they're already married, and I've also added a bit of Remus/Tonks. Poor Sirius is the only Singleton (though he may manage to get a girl of his own)!
Edit: This story was cannon until after Deathly Hallows came out, so I changed it to Alternate Universe, but it's still pretty close to cannon. Only a few things will end up being different when the story ends.
Edit: I've changed all of the chapter titles to the titles of Christmas songs that I felt reflected the events in the chapters best. Tell me what you think! Does it fit?

Before you start commenting that the dare was unromantic, please please read the 2nd sentence of the 4th paragraph. I clearly state that "James was steeling himself to do SOMETHING HE WANTED TO DO VERY MUCH EVEN WITHOUT BEING DARED TO". In other words, the dare was the catalyst, not the cause. It only served to spur him into action; it didn't give him the intention of doing what he did (I'm trying not to give out spoilers here, so read to find out what - though you can probably guess ;)).

Harry and Ginny use Polyjuice Potion to impersonate one another to enable Harry to sneak out of Privet Drive to watch a Quidditch game with Ron. When Harry does not return at the appointed time, unforseen problems arise in an embarrassing way, such as having to go to the bathroom and such in a body of the opposite sex. Humour abounds in the first half of the chapter, but angst takes over after that as Harry is caught in a lie and endures Uncle Vernon's wrath for it. Harry is rescued from Privet Drive and at first, Ginny feels responsible for having encouraged Harry to get out and have a little fun. Originally written for a challenge where the object was to describe a birthday cake with as much detail as possible, so I must warn you, Fred and George made the cake and I can say no more than that.
