Hello readers and writers!
I am WrenWinterSong, though I would prefer to be simply called Wren. I have been writing since a very young age and would consider myself at least fairly decent at it. Although I mostly concentrate on my own stories that I hope to actually publish as novels one day, I have recently decided to try my hand at fanfiction and gain some constructive views on my writing. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my work, so if you see something that I could be doing to make my writing better, please let me know! I promise not to be offended by critism.
If you have noticed that my one and only fiction has just been deleted, please don't worry! I've recently given my Next Gen fiction a complete renovation. While the first two chapters won't change too much, behind-the-scenes, everything has changed. Well, not so much changed, as greatly improved. This is thanks to all the great discussions I've had on the boards, so thank you to anyone and everyone who I've talked to over there!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to have something up for you to read soon!
Summary: The battle is fought, the war is won--but no victory ever comes cheap. Join Alice, Andromeda, Ginny, Narcissa, Luna, Molly, and Hermione as they discover the cost of war.
EDIT: I'm back! And I am SO SORRY I was gone so long. There is absolutely no excuse for making you wait almost three years for an update. *hides from angry reviewers* The next chapter is in the queue!
Summary: Did anybody really appreciate Hannah's mum?
Because Mrs. Abbott was a heroine in her own way, you know.
To my great surprise, this fic was nominated for a 2013 QSQ.
Summary: Rose Weasley’s sixth year at Hogwarts is going perfectly well. She is in love. She is in a wonderful, near-perfect relationship with Ben Defrost and she adores every moment of it. She has aced her OWLs and is doing brilliantly in her NEWTs. Her whole family is proud of her. Everything seems so perfect.
And then it all starts to go downhill.
Scorpius Malfoy may not have a perfect life, but he’s very happy with it. He enjoys being single and the absence of all the nagging from his ex. He is content with his position in the Slytherin Quidditch team and he has fresh new ways to bother the Potter-Weasley clan. He has kept his nose clean and his parents are happy with him.
Until he forms an unlikely friendship with a fallen Weasley.
Summary: As he enters a new chapter of his life, Ron ponders what exactly he has got himself into.
Summary: It had been thirty hours. Thirty hours since he had finally called Harry on his lack of plan. Thirty hours since he had ignored Hermione's cries. Thirty hours since he had let the beast consume him and destroy every part of his being that had been worth saving, leaving nothing but a bitter and angry mess behind. Thirty hours since he had left.
Summary: A story of how Rose Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy evolved from being two people who never spoke to each other to being two people who broke all of their families expectations to be with each other.
Summary: It's the day every Weasley has been dreading since the battle and now it's George's turn to speak. However, before he can begin, he is rudely interrupted by a latecomer.
Joint winner of Best Post-Hogwarts One-Shot at the 2012 Quicksilver Quill Awards
Summary: This story is a missing moment from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We know Ron and Hermione descend into the Chamber of Secrets in search of basilisk fangs, and we know they succeed. But what exactly happened down there? This story provides a possible answer to that question. This is WeasleyMom of Hufflepuff writing for the Illustration for Inspiration Challenge in the Great Hall. My inspiration was a drawing done by Carole/EquinoxChick, featuring Hermione's hand stabbing the cup with a basilisk fang. Thanks, Carole! You unknowingly pushed me to write something I've had in my head since DH came out. Thrilled to announce this story tied for third place in the challenge! Holy Hufflepuff! This won a 2012 QSQ Award for Best Canon Romance, one-shot! I am thrilled and so, so grateful!
Summary: It was the night before Christmas and Ron Weasley's plans for a quiet night in with his pregnant wife and her infuriating cat don't quite go to plan.
Harry waits for someone to meet him at Godric's Hollow on Christmas Eve. This is a story about growing up, moving on and remembering your past without taking it with you.
H/Hr friendship with a bit of H/G
Summary: Albus and Lily Potter, Rose Weasley, Scorpius Malfoy, and Thomas and Alaina Longbottom spend most of their time at Hogwarts together. Summary: Four Valentine's Day balls. Four very different encounters.
Scorpius Malfoy and Rose Weasley could never exactly be accused of getting along, but four days over four years test the nature of their relationship. From hatred, to sympathy, to attraction, to perhaps something deeper, Scorpius and Rose find themselves in uncharted territory. Can they rise above their ingrained dislike for one another? Or will their prejudices keep them from realising the true reason they can so easily get under each other's skin?
Summary: Love is a very bizarre form of emotion. People can die for it. People can kill for it…
Rose Weasley is in her fifth year at Hogwarts. Love is in the air, but so is exam fever; and Hogwarts is heavy with a weird combination of nervous cheesiness. But isn’t this the story every year? It’s normal. It’s right.
And then everything goes wrong.
A student— Rose’s classmate dies tragically and unexpectedly one day. The death sends shock waves through Rose and her friends, staggering them to a great extent. Furthermore, investigations conducted by Rose’s Uncle Harry reveal a startling piece of information, placing everybody in even more shock. The death is, in fact homicide— and homicide committed by a student. Soon enough, Relationships are strained, faiths are broken and hatred is intensified. That is when Rose realises that she is not prepared to face any of it; and all she craves is for things to be the way they were before the tragedy…
This is a story about how love can make people cross the limits they never knew... a story of how love combined with obsession, deceit and jealousy can be as destructive of hatred.
This is Ginny Weasley Potter of Hufflepuff writing for the 2011 Mysterious May Challenge in the Great Hall, Prompt #2— The Trained Professional. I have moved this story into the next-gen category, because I feel it fits in better there.
Summary: Scorpius Malfoy never expected the brief visit to his bookshop of a rude woman with no interest in books to give him so much to think about.
This story won the 2011 Next Generation one shot QSQ
Summary: Rose Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy – a love that could never be, and yet it was.
We never want things to fall apart around us, and we don’t always want the real world to intrude on our lives, but in the end it always will.
Summary: Rose Weasley has had a rather unremarkable first four years at Hogwarts. Apart from the agony of being the very average daughter of a very extraordinary mother, Hermione Granger, Rose has never had much to complain about, being content to sleep through lessons and sketch in her free time. Life has settled into a comfortable routine when an evening walk in Hogsmeade reveals a danger that may prove too much even for her Uncle Harry to deal with. An experiment gone horribly right and a mission gone horribly wrong thrusts her right into the vortex of the gathering maelstrom ... and Rose is now left with some tough choices to make to save herself and the rest of the wizarding world from the mystic eastern power that threatens them all.
It was like a wizard tale. The clever Slytherin helps a hag who later repays the debt. Except that Rose Weasley wasn't a hag, and Scorpius didn't expect to call in the favour.
*Winner of the 2010 Next Generation QSQ award*
