Rated: 3rd-5th Years • 8 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: With Hannah, things always go to yellow.

One, Two, Three by Alice Mac

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • 5 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: Have you ever been a part of something? I have - we were one, two, three together. Three pieces of a rather small jigsaw puzzle. But we were solid, strong and we felt untouchable.

Do you believe in 'forever?' I did. But then, I could be quite arrogant at times.

Heart's Desire by Squibstress

Rated: Professors • 9 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: It takes sixty years, but Minerva finally comes to understand the truth of George Bernard Shaw's pronouncement on tragedy: "Life contains but two tragedies. One is not to get your heart's desire; the other is to get it."

Strong Enough to Break by Acacia Carter

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • 12 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: It had been three years since his wife's death, but the first woman to make him feel something is the last woman he'd have thought. The fact that he's closer in age to her father than to her does not help matters.

Otherwise known as All Soraya's Fault.

Important note: I used the Student/Teacher warning as a precaution; the relationship in this story is between a teacher and his former student, for whom he had no feelings while she was under his tutelage. Just to be clear.

Another important note: I'm not JKR. She has a much nicer house.

Written for Random Song Title Challenge at Poetry Anyone (?). This poem shares the title of the Helios song, and only the title.

Another Horcrux Down by WeasleyMom

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • 19 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: This story is a missing moment from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We know Ron and Hermione descend into the Chamber of Secrets in search of basilisk fangs, and we know they succeed. But what exactly happened down there? This story provides a possible answer to that question.

This is WeasleyMom of Hufflepuff writing for the Illustration for Inspiration Challenge in the Great Hall.

My inspiration was a drawing done by Carole/EquinoxChick, featuring Hermione's hand stabbing the cup with a basilisk fang. Thanks, Carole! You unknowingly pushed me to write something I've had in my head since DH came out.

Thrilled to announce this story tied for third place in the challenge!

Holy Hufflepuff! This won a 2012 QSQ Award for Best Canon Romance, one-shot! I am thrilled and so, so grateful!

Blackberries by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 8 Reviews
Summary: When the sun dies, can the shadow exist?

George had liked Angelina since they were third years sharing blackberries, but Fred had got there first.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling; I just play in her world rather too much.

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry for Round 1 of the Character Clinic Triathlon - Major Characters.

This is also a (very) delayed birthday present for Lori (Weasley Mom) because I've been wanting to write this for her for absolute ages.

Thank you Kara and Jess for the prompts. I think I got them all in.

YIPPPEEEEEEEEE! Blackberries won the 2013 QSQ for Best Canon Romance. Thank youuuu!!!

Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts by Equinox Chick

In the Ashes by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: Professors • 96 Reviews Past Featured Story

In her seventh year, Katie Bell knew what it was like to fear death. A year later, she learnt what it was like to see it in front of her. Nothing she had ever experienced had prepared her to deal with the aftermath of that. And then he came.

Caught in a whirlwind of Quidditch, heartbreak, and a rivalry, Katie struggled with her jumbled mess of feelings, one of which she hadn't expected but was growing certain that she could never live without.

Oh my freaking Salazar! This story WON TWO 2011 Quicksilver Quill Awards: Best Post-Hogwarts Story and Best Non-Canon Romance Story. *flail*

This (late) update was brought to you by the (belated) birthday of the ever-lovely Hannah / h_vic. She is a star and an excellent friend!

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • 3 Reviews Past Featured Story
Yew and Holly rise to meet,

Crimson fruits and evergreen.

Written for the Random Song Title challenge at Poetry Anyone (?). 2 Trees is a song by Foals, and it has nothing to do with the poem apart from the title. I am not J.K.Rowling.

Reveries & Butterflies by lucca4

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • 11 Reviews Past Featured Story

The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough...

Sometimes, there is little else to hold onto except dreams and moments.

Because sometimes, when all else is lost, they are all we have left.

I owe infinite thanks to Alex/welshdevondragon, who took the time to beta and primp this story and is also just a wonderful person.

Winner of the 2012 Quicksilver Quill Award - Best General Story, along with Julia/theopaleye's fabulous fic Maps

The Unbreakable Curse by Karaley Dargen

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 65 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: In 1993, Bill Weasley is working on a tomb in Egypt with a team of Magiarchaeologists and Curse-Breakers. It is a job like any other ... or so it seems, until members of the expedition start dying, and Bill has to race against time to figure out what exactly it is that they awakened in the tomb of Mentuhotep, and how it can be stopped before it reaches him.

The following are characters from JKR’s creations: Bill Weasley, Ragnok, Agatha Chubb (QttA), and the last names of Deverill and Pilliwickle. I don’t own them and never will!

I owe a large debt to Hannah (coolh5000), Carole (EquinoxChick), and Natalie (hestiajones) for their constant encouragement and help at various stages of this story.

Fair Warning: Some of the reviews (naturally) contain spoilers, especially those towards the end. So if you want to be safe, don't read those before you read the story.

This story just WON a 2012 QSQ Award in the General category, as best chaptered story. THANK YOU!!!

So here we are, at last, at our journey’s end,
And it’s time for some sweets; come on, bring a friend!

Two Negatives by hestiajones

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 11 Reviews
Marcus Flint and Millicent Bulstrode.

Love sometimes thrives in the unlikeliest quarters, and between the unlikeliest souls.

This is hestiajones of Hufflepuff submitting her eighth entry for the GH Cotillion Challenge. Thank you, Lea, for reading the chapter and giving me confidence! I am not J.K.Rowling. And thank you, Kara, for your ninja betaing skills and all the giggles!

(I know this pairing sounds kind of dire, but please give them a chance. Lol. The story is not as dark as the warnings are making it sound like :D)

Whisper to the Dying Walls by hestiajones

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 18 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: Viktor is thankful for uniforms; they make it difficult for him to identify individuals while flying at breakneck speed. But right now, he has to shake her hand. He dreads it, and hates himself for dreading it, so he doesn’t look into her eyes when their skin comes into contact, or when her fingers grip his a little more tightly than necessary.

This is hestiajones' seventh entry for the GH Cotillion Challenge. Thank you, Croll, for your support and ideas and jokes! I am not J.K. Rowling.
