Written in response to the Strange Brew Challenge over at LJ's Snuna community. My prompt was "Luna has a job interview with Snape. Much to his annoyance, she turns out to be the only one suitable for the position." The story leads up to and then ends with the interview itself.

What do you get when your challenge is to write a mystery/humor fic that must include the following:
A Crumple-Horned Snorkack
Ron and Dumbledore as suspects
Luna sneaking into the Gryffindor common room
Luna accidentally solving the mystery
Well, you get The Investigations of Luna Lovegood. Luna has finally acquired some kind of proof to prove that the Crumple-Horned Snorkack is real...but it goes missing. Now, poor Luna must fight and put on her detective hat to...well...not really. She just stumbles across clues to help her find the missing proof. But what she does during that time, is so Luna Lovegood.

Hermione is abandoned by Harry during their quest to find Malfoy Manor. She is close to exhaustion when she stumbles over her coveted location. She assumes that nobody is home, the Malfoy's are either on the run or locked in Azkaban prison, and therefore she decides to use the manor as a shelter.
This happens to be a Lucius/Hermione story (Yes, I know I am attempting the impossible.) It is rated R for later chapters
I have edited this story down to make it a small ficlet - because I just know I will never get around to finishing it. Don't worry, it still makes sense. I've cut it off at the part where I initially intended to finish it

Severus has never seen the appeal of repetition, particularly of things that ended badly the first time. In his life, he has kept one pet, owned one broom, and had one close friend.
Winner of Mod Quicksilver Quill for Best Novel! Thanks, all!
Rating and warnings do not apply to all chapters; I just didn't want anyone hooked and then shocked.
"What is it?" His mother held out her hand, and he put the letter in it wordlessly. "Are you eleven already?"
His father lowered the newspaper to look at the calendar. "Yesterday. ‘Appy birthday." And that was the end of that.

Giving high school essays a Marauder twist, this fiction is centered around the idea that some seniors in high school are require to write a letter to incoming freshman before they graduate. At Hogwarts, Seventh Years are given an assignment to write such a letter for the new First Years. Sirius decides to actually take an assignment, well seriously...sort of. He decides to look back on his entire Hogwarts years and write down his list of things not to do at Hogwarts.

Moaning Myrtle really likes Harry Potter. Myrtle was always the shy, reserved type when she was alive, often driven to being so by the taunts of others. And when Harry and Luna became close friends, with a slight hint of the possibility of romance, she began to envy them, for she had been killed by Tom Riddle at the worst possible age, before she had ever known love, but at a time when she craved it more than life itself. And now, she wanted Harry.
'Girl Game' Comedy, with Harry as the target of their affection. H/L and H/MM. Rated PG-13 for mild sexuality, graphic imagery
