I am OliveOil_Med of Ravenclaw, and this is my entry for the Chronicle of Despair Forestalled.
Summary: Teddy Lupin has a great life. He is newly married to the love of his life, Victoire Weasley, with a baby on the way. He has a large and devoted - if unorthodox - family who he loves and who loves him. And most important, he has never known the fear and uncertainty of war.
But that all changes in the blink of an eye when he stumbles upon a piece of information that nobody was meant to find. Kidnapped and lost, Teddy will experience first hand what his godfather gave everything over two decades before to keep him from, and he will have to find trust in himself and in those most would label his enemies, as from the outside, the ones he loves race against time and prejudice to face a threat that was long ago foretold.
Summary: We’ve been fighting this war for a long time. They call us “Muggles.” We know them as wizards and witches.
They struck first. We don’t know where they came from. We don’t know why they attacked us. What we do know is that they were winning. England was the first to fall. Then France. Spain. Italy. It took ten years of tactical withdrawals, delaying actions, and air strikes to halt the wizard's advance. It cost us millions of lives to stop them just short of the Rhine.
Now, it was our turn to push back.

Chapter 20 has been posted!
Summary: When searching the Riddle House for Horcruxes, Hermione comes across a blank, seemingly harmless, diary, and a mysterious key hidden in a bureau. When she later discovers that the "harmless" diary is really Tom Riddle's diary, she vows to never write in it again, but when a reckless plan forms in her head to help her, Harry, and Ron find the rest of the Horcruxes, she breaks that vow. Will Hermione Jean Granger, the brightest witch of her age, manage to best Tom Marvolo Riddle, one of the darkest and most powerful wizards alive? ...Or will he beat her at her own game, and successfully ensnare her with the power of the diary? Hermione Granger/Tom Riddle. Mostly compliant with Book Seven, but the AU warning is there just in case.
Summary: It's been twelve years since the Wizarding world saw Harry Potter after he mysteriously disappeared into the Forbidden Forest during the Final Battle in 1998. Now Lord Voldemort has conquered, extending his reach not just over Britain, but France, Germany, and Spain as well.
Meanwhile, hidden deep within the Canadian Rocky Mountains in British Columbia, a terrifying secret is brewing at the magic school that McGonagall herself founded just after the second battle for Hogwarts. It is at this school where Muggle-born Leah Andrews and her best friends, Gwen and Cory, will find themselves thrown into the search for the truth: What is a dead snake doing hung from a tree like a sacrificial lamb? Who really is the new DADA professor with the strange colour-changing eyes and bad mood swings? And just what does a gentle half-giant gamekeeper have to do with any of this?
One thing is for certain - all is definitely not well.
This is the sequel to Alternate Ending. I strongly recommend you read that one first, although I don't think it's necessary.
Excerpt from the Epilogue:
As he sidestepped them, he glanced down again at the wrinkled slip of parchment Charlie had handed him two days earlier with nothing more than a quiet word that there may still be one last loose end to tie.
Summary: Six years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy is recruited by a sinister organization called the Confederacy, which is bent on destroying Muggle-borns all over Britain.
But Draco turns traitor and becomes a double agent for the Ministry. Can he and handler Astoria Greengrass stop the Confederacy before they wreak havoc on the Wizarding World?
Summary: The seventh book left many things unexplained that happened between the final battle at Hogwarts and the Epilogue. J.K. Rowling has mentioned what happened to various characters after the defeat of Voldemort. This story (the title of which reflects Rita Skeeter's biography of Harry) includes some of the things that happened to the characters once the war was over. It also explains what happened between Harry and Ginny that brought them back together, and how Harry began his career as an auror.
Summary: In the forest clearing, Harry Potter really does die. When he arrives at Death's door, Sirius comes out to greet him. He is given three options, to return to life and continue to fight Voldemort, to relive life with the prophecy on Neville, or to die and take Voldemort with him. Harry being the heroic and selfless person he is chooses death. But death turns out to be something quite different than he expected.
Summary: Life doesn’t always go according to plan, so sometimes you need contingencies. But what if your backup to your backup plan fails? What can you do? Mix in hexes, rumours, a reverse-Oedipus complex and something about a pig, and set it all in the year 1975 and you are bound to have issues - serious, psychologically-scarring issues. Oh, and did I mention Draco and Ginny were in the middle of all this? Yeah. Fun times.
Summary: AU. There was more than one baby left on a doorstep that night. One ripple in the pond, one flap of a butterfly’s wings will alter the course of history and the Second War. Identity, politics, love, loss, and sarcasm. OC-centric. Pairings TBA. 1st in the Blackbird Suite.
“…he fell through the ancient doorway and disappeared behind the veil, which fluttered for a moment as though in a high wind and then fell back into place… Sirius must be just behind the curtain…”
Sirius Black didn’t die when he fell through the veil in the Department of Mysteries. He was transported to another world: our world, where Hogwarts doesn’t exist and magic lives only in the fantasy books. As Sirius tries to understand this strange new world and find his way home, he runs into some unlikely old friends. Nothing is the same behind the curtain.
Summary: This is the story that every good Harry Potter fan wants to come true. I hope that I do it justice. Harry has Ginny. Ron has Hermione. Life is sweet…no catch. It’s the perfect dream come true.
It's all full of fluff and pixie dust!
All review get a response!
Summary: A young Hogwarts student sets out in search of the school's secrets finding more than he bargained for, and causing some to question what he's really searching for.
Summary: Lily Potter shocked the Sorting Hat when she asked to be placed into Slytherin. The Sorting Hat shocked all of Hogwarts when it did just that.
Summary: The war is years over now, and Harry Potter has become Head of the Auror Office at the reformed Ministry of Magic. He’s married to Ginny, love of his life, and they’re expecting a baby within the next few months. The war changed everything about Harry’s life, some things for the better. But he still remembers what happened in his place of employment before the war, before he was of age even; there was an event that neither he nor one close friend can put out of their heads for very long.
Luna Lovegood and Harry Potter cannot forget the whisperings just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries. So when Luna turns up out of the blue (and dressed in a memorable shade of blue) to ask for a tour—for the Quibbler of course—Harry is able to use his not-insignificant influence to pull a few strings and set in motion a spontaneous adventure that answers the questions they have always been haunted with, about death, life, memories, forgiveness, and everything in between.
Warnings: spoilers (for pretty much all the books)
Disclaimer: I bought the rights to Harry Potter, so I own this. And if you believe that…. Well, yeah. Obviously I just lied, I own none of this except for the plot.
P.S. : This story is meant to be maybe four or five chapters, possibility of an epilogue. Nothing colossal! :) 6/16/10: Just realized.... You should know that this is NOT a Harry/Luna romance. Sorry to disappoint if that's what you were looking for, and happy to help if it's not.
Excerpt from Chapter 3:
The colors of the new setting mainly consisted of greens and browns, with a translucent gold here and there. The random colors formed into leaves and bark, shafts of sunlight swung down like ropes between them. Harry and Luna found themselves in a forest, bodiless and looking down from high branches through leaves that were changing color. Again the deep voice resonated in their heads, saying with the clarity of a dark bell sound, “James”.
Summary: After a conflicting life as the son of a famous and feared Death Eater, Draco Malfoy has turned spy for the Order. After things go awry, his emergency portkey transports him to his Safe House which turns out to be quite the surprise! New bonds are formed and romance is in bloom. This all goes to show that war indeed brings out the best in people — and the worst.
