I'm a college freshman in from New England who aspires to be an author. I'd love to write something timeless, but waste altogether too much time dabbling in fleeting things. But I prefer to dream big and come up short, instead of giving up lofty aspirations and playing in the mud. =)
I have jealously guarded Remus Lupin since fifth grade and turn to fanfiction to soothe the aching wounds inflicted by the last four books. It's what happens when authors and their readers have conflicting opinions.
This is my standing thank-you to whoever voted for "Violin Teacher", and to Mind_Over_Matter, invisiblenudnik, and Werewolf_sympathiser who nominated me! Just in case they ever happen to see. =)
(Thanks to Phoenix5225 for the banner!)
AU. Without Harry, Ron, and Hogwarts , who will change Hermione's perspective on mankind and the music of life? Professor Lupin is a Muggle, too, and both play violin. Perhaps this teacher and student pair can influence each other in another world, far from the magic countryside of Scotland. - Complete!
Summary: Runner-up for the QuickSilver Quills Award, categ. Best Alternate Universe
“No matter the time or place, people should never call their child Marie-Antoinette. There is no happiness in this world for a girl called Marie-Antoinette.”
1983. In a world where Voldemort has won the First War, where hope has fled from an Earth moaning under the Dark Lord's iron hand, marriages are broken and others are arranged in order to preserve the sacred purity of blood. James Potter loses his wife; now they have to find another for him.
Summary: James Potter's once privileged and sheltered life alters dramatically as Lord Voldemort increases his stronghold on Great Britain. While a rational but brilliant Transfiguration teacher, a grieving socialite mother, a star-gazing, forest-dwelling centaur, and a host of other characters contemplate the vicious and constant conflict between Good and Evil, James embarks on a dangerous life fuelled by passion, love, anger and blood...
Things can only get redder.
Chapter 20 is up, and it's been nominated for the Quicksilver Quills!
Summary: Scotland. Murder. A priest. A deserted church.
Chirrup. Chirrup. Chirrup.
What are the crickets trying to tell us?
Eventual romance. OC
(The time period is during the early years of Voldemort’s reign, but this is simply to inform you when this is occurring. The war/etc is not really mentioned because the story takes place in a Muggle village.)
Also check out my other story: “Behind those Emerald Eyes” –it’s loved!
Summary: A short character-study exploring Remus' feelings in the days after Hallowe'en 1981.
(The world is strange; strange and old and sometimes dead, but mostly, it is living.)
Story discussed in the DADA class on mugglenet's fan fiction forums.
Summary: Severus Snape has a heart of ice. But a certain female OC has melted it. This is about my OTP of Severus/Maeve. Aww the Christmas lurve. :-) I have no idea why Christmas has driven me to poetry. T'is scary indeed.
Summary: This is an entry to the Monthly Challenge, number three. The quote used is: “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. - The Bible, Hebrews 13:2”. Submitted by WonderfulWeasley of Gryffindor.
*First place winner of the October 2005 quote challenge!!
Summary: Remus Lupin and Severus Snape, framed for murder and sharing a cell at recently overcrowded Azkaban. Will the dysfunctional pair make it out of their cell before the wolf comes out during the next full moon? ::set in a hypothetical sixth year where Dumbledore has vanished and Regulus Black, who returned mysteriously from the dead weaves a dangerous intrigue::
Summary: Hope, loyalty, love, despair, and tragedy. Through it all, Lily discovers the truth about the Marauders, the affable troublemakers who hide behind smokescreens but still glitter in shattered light. They aren't the glorious, graceful men they are often perceived as, but stumbling, awkward boys who are still trying to find their way out of darkness.
Summary: Inspired by the third movie and all the times this little ploy occurred to fool a woman into love. Remus has always adored Lily, even to the point of unrequited love. Yet James has his eye on her too. When desperately asked for help, does Remus admit his feelings or aid his friend in a quest for the girl of his dreams?
Summary: “He does the only thing that he can. He tells Harry a story about four boys in school, magic, smoke screens and tricks of light, about a beautiful girl that they'd loved in different ways and a prince without a crown who did everything that he could and nothing that he said he would but was kind and gentle and universally adored.”
Summary: One-shot. Remus Lupin lies half-dead in St. Mungo's, and Tonks kneels by his bedside, reflecting on what she might lose. Far more humorous than it seems! Written to the ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT song "By My Side" from Godspell. PG for mild language.
Summary: Remus Lupin contemplates in solitude. Short and sweet.
Summary: There is darkness that envelopes the world. It shrouds us and keeps us from ever seeing even what's in front of our noses. But for every Hitler, Grindelwald, Attila the Hun and Voldemort, Fate gives us a person to light a candle to shatter the darkness. Hermione Granger knows a hero when she sees one. Sometimes, you just have to look a little deeper.
Summary: Harry muses about what kind of person he'd be if he wasn't the Boy-Who-Lived. Hermione and Luna think he wouldn't be any different. Harry wants to change the world. Hermione and Luna show him how.
