I am an adult reader who fell in love with Jo Rowling's writing while reading Sorceror's Stone to my daughter. We ordered and read each new book as it came out, and I have greatly enjoyed reading the fan fiction here that carries on the canon. I am not a writer myself, but prefer stories written by the contributors from the UK, as they stick most closely to the idea of what boarding schools are like, and have a specific tone. Definitely a canon adherent--Jo's world is too rich to need a rewrite.
