This is an unashamed post-DH canon-patching fic that I started the day after DH came out as a personal way of coping with the deaths of my two favourite characters. The idea for it attacked me and stuck and wouldn't leave me alone until I wrote it. I would like to thank Snockarkcatcher for kindly agreeing to beta this for me, and, along with Celtmama, Aftertherain/Lady De Mimsy, Drumher, MrsTater, Gilpin, Godricgal and Lady Bracknell helping me to thrash out the intricacies of making the plot work feasibly.
