I'm so glad you updated. I really like this story. I don't remember why Bellatrix was torturing the Longbottoms. She probably was doing it for fun. Wasn't she trying to find out where the Potters were or did I make that up?

Author's Response: :) I've always wondered as well, it's never actually explained in the books what information Bellatrix was actually looking for. My theories are that either a) she was looking for information on the Potters, or b) once Dumbledore found out about the prophecy, he told both the Longbottoms and the Potters to go into hiding. Maybe Neville's parents sent him away to stay safe with a relative and Bella was torturing them for his location, since Voldemort may have had plans to dispose of Neville once he killed Harry, just to be safe.

I really liked this first chapter. Harry never did get a visit from McGonagall or any other faculty did he? Just a barrage of letters. What I liked was hearing about how other students found out they were going to be attending Hogwarts, especially the Muggle-borns. Hope you update soon.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading! No he didn't. I suppose Harry was a special case being Harry Potter and all, though I think he may have been better prepared if McGonagall had gone to fetch him instead of Hagrid ;)

Love the different points of view, especially of not as popular characters!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm having a lot of fun exploring them.
