Paige Man, am I glad I read this one. You are the only writer who I can read recently who can invent her own magical stuff and weave it into the magical world of Harry Potter so well. It is not, nor is it ever, tacked on simply for show or convienence. This was so funny. I died a little....again. This is the first fic I've read where Riddle is human. Is it bad that I say he's likeable with the dark humor angle? Well done..

Author's Response: See, that's another reason to appreciate you: you share my enjoyment of dark humor! This is Tom before he's lost all his looks and humanity, so he's a "just" a charismatic psychopath recruiting wizard supremacist followers, heh. Is it bad that I tried to picture him looking like Frank Dillane, the actor who played him in the HBP film, but since I've seen the actor play a sympathetic and grungy addict forced into recovery by the zombie apocalypse in Fear the Walking Dead I couldn't go there? I ended up picturing Tom as a cross between Christian Coulson who played him in the CoS film and a darkly witty vampire named Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. :D

Mm. I'm happy someone's writing about a proper canon sociopath doing what he does best! And somehow making that type of mutually-abusive relationship work. And for respectfully (!) dealing with blood and sex magic! You're batting 1 for 1! Hooray! (Although Tom ought to be humming The Captain's Daughter rather than some Disneyfied shanty)

Author's Response: Thank you for reading and enjoying the story! A relationship with Tom Riddle only works as long as there's something in it for him, and the girl (if she's not a follower like Bellatrix) doesn't mind taking the risk of her lover deciding to kill her rather than go to the bother of erasing her memory. Treasure Island was published in 1883, so Tom would have read it but never have heard of Walt Disney, which was probably a good thing for Muggles. He might have decided to eradicate them all instead of subjugating them. :D

I don't know why but I thought the funniest line was at the beginning when Tom told Avery and Crabbe to stop wasting his time. Lord Voldemort is so suave yet some of his cronies are so uncouth. I'm beginning to think that he kept these people around just for their money. None of the Death Eaters sound that attractive with certain exceptions. Unique story.

Author's Response: Even cronies like Avery who isn't uncouth is still nasty, willing to sail dirty waters with a pox ridden wench to impress the Dark Lord. They have high standards for purity of blood but no standard of decency. And yes, Malfoys and Blacks are attractive. ;)

Hahaha, wow, this was sufficiently dark and weird. :) It would make perfect sense for Tom to know the barmaid and be using her to test some of his followers. And I loved how Crabbe immediately broke down! And Avery seemed very in character.
And thanks for the small nod to my eventual OC piece. Of course Tom will find someone more powerful (and perhaps more beautiful). And thanks for pointing out that Tom is more drawn to power.
I will say the part where he was using Legilimency was slightly confusing to me, but I ma sure a second read would help me better understand it (plus, I am so tired my eyelids feel raw).
Now I have to write my story! Gah!
This ought to be fun...

Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing! Tom is drawn to power, but he likes females with power to be attractive if the relationship's going to be sexual. He, of course, can look like a snake and expect witches like Bellatrix to offer to give him everything anytime and anywhere.
