Have been taking English literature at college this past 6 months, and have really grown to appreciate poetry. Beautiful imagery and fantastic form.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for leaving a review, Georgie. To be sure, you need a pause after "toxin", and "-lefi-" in the word "maleficent" must be spoken rapidly, two little syllables on one beat, in order to keep the meter, but I like to vary the cadence occasionally, to prevent a sing-song effect, in poems of strict meter. I chose the venomous tentaculum for my magical-plant reference because I was familiar with it from my story Greenhouse Seven. I'm glad you enjoyed this poem.

The imagery of this poem make it very easy to imagine the situation, Narcissa's despair at having her home invaded by someone who seems less than human and her sense of defeat because her husband has been rendered ineffectual due to the occupation of their home. I enjoyed reading this poem very much.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for such a prompt review, Arnel! I probably would never have written the poem this way had it not been for the requirements set by the Poetry Class instructors, but I have to admit that their requirements were good ones, and hopefully I will learn from them for future writing.
