Wow, very haunting. Bellatrix is always so hard to capture because she's just-a-bit more human than Voldemort; and you can definitely see that she went deranged somewhere. Very well written! :)

What a great idea. Bellatrix has to have depths beyond what JK Rowling gave her (duh, they all do, right? Otherwise we wouldn't be doing what we do!). But I like that she's only human for a moment and it's Sirius that is the personification of that humanity.
Author's Response: Glad to hear you liked this story. And yeah, I didn't want to have a "and then Bellatrix sees the light and stops killing people!" finale. She is still a Death Eater and she is still completely devoted to Voldemort. But even the most "evil" characters, with perhaps the exception of Voldy-Shorts himself, aren't entirely evil. Oh Wow! This is fabulous. I'm really pleased I decided to check Most recents or I wouldn;t have discovered this.
Pulls self together to try and be coherent. I think what I liked best was that you made this very plausible. I loathe Bellatrix with a passion, but it has always niggled at me that the curse she hit Sirius with was not the Killing Curse, and equally she didn;t finish Tonks off when she had the chance but left her unconscious. In DH, obviously, she was set to kill her, but this story just fits so right with the events in OotP. I'd love to see you write more along this theme (especially her killing Tonks) so I hope you get over the block soon.

Author's Response: I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one bothered by Bellatrix's red spell in OotP! I definitely feel similiarly towards Bellatrix: I have a very hard time "liking" her, but she's definitely one of the HP characters that most fascinates me. As to Bellatrix's killing of Tonks, if you're interested, I do have a story about Bellatrix and her niece titled Multum In Parvo, in which the pair meet in the afterlife.
