Chapter: Tomorrow
So, after practically sobbing at this ending, I'm finally coherent enough to write a review.
This was an extremely powerful story in each and every chapter and really sums about the feelings I imagine going through the Weasley family so soon after the battle. I love all the little details to add to the story, such as Molly's choices for naming her children in this latest chapter. They really add to the depth of the story and fit so well with canon that I think you must have secret connections to JKR, haha. Anyways, this was a wonderful story that I thoroughly enjoyed and the only thing that would have made it better is if you had written nineteen chapter instead of only six. :)
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! Sorry about the sobbing. Thank you so much for saying that. The little things like the names are really fun to think of so I'm really happy that they are appreciated. Haha, yes, we do have a connection. Well, I stalk her, but I am sure that counts. Nineteen would have been nice really, but I was running out of main characters. ANyway, thank you so much for reviewing and I'm glad that you enjoyed the story :)

Chapter: Building Bridges Made of Smoke
Malfoy is so wretched that I almost feel sorry for him. Almost.
This is great, but I find myself wanting more recognition by Malfoy that his previously held conceptions about Ron and Hermione (and really everyone he had been aligned against at Hogwarts) were so wrong. I want to see him squirm more. I want to see the painful realization that the people he baited and tormented for so many years are so much better and stronger than he is. I feel like Malfoy is a character screaming for catharsis.
How many more chapters of this are you anticipating?
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing :)
At this point in the story he is a bit pitiable. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Yeah, it is difficult because it has been less than 3 weeks since the end of the war. You can see Draco almost coming to that conclusion but he hasn't got there yet. It's going to be a long road, but I can see him walking it. There is only one more chapter of this (I'll let you decide if that is a good or bad thing).

Chapter: Building Bridges Made of Smoke
You do Draco's character quite well, the conflicted opinions, the desire to get a rise out of Ron...
Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing! Draco was a lot of fun to write actually, even with all of his issues so thanks :)

Chapter: An Awkward Conversation
This is probably one of my favorite things of yours that I've read yet. It's so completely heartbreaking and touching at the same time - the juxtaposition of Hermione shutting out her father just as she lets Ron in (pardon the pun). It's so refreshing to see a Hermione who is not ok with what happened to her, who is having a hard time dealing with it, and an even harder time communicating about it. She's not weeping because she's sad to have upset her parents, she's emotionally compromised to the point where she can barely communicate about what's happened to her. Very well done, as usual!
Author's Response: Thank you! It was probably one of my favourites to write, even though it was a bit angsty. I refuse to pardon a pun that I giggled at. I've always thought it would be more than just bad dreams for her. This whole fic is just me trying to show that everyone is different in some way after what happened. Hermione seems like she would be too strong for her own good but it would just make things worse. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it!

Chapter: The Ones Left Behind
I have read the first four chapters in the span of about a half hour. Couldn't put it down. The Bogart scene between Percy and Ron were heart wrenching for me. I don't know why but I hadn't really thought about the fact that Ron would so obviously be changed by the events at Malfoy Manor. I mean to say that I never thought about a bogart changing from the spiders of his youth to Hermione's torture. But it's obvious that it would be so. Thank you for some excellent storytelling. The scene with Hermione and her dad was also hard to bear. As a mother, you want to think your children would be able to share their deepest hurts with you. Mostly because you have tended to their hurts from day one. The movement from adolescence into adulthood is wretched enough, but add in the horrific trauma these kids endured, makes it even worse. I cannot imagine, either form Hermione's POV or her dads. I look forward to reading more. You are on my favorites list. ;)
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! Wow - quick reading! I think Malfoy Manor changed everyone who was there - good and bad - so I was hoping to show that. I think Hermione wants to want to open up to her dad but doesn't want to for several reasons. Obviously it's hard on both of them. Thank you for adding me to your favourites list :)

Chapter: The Ones Left Behind
So I just want you to know that you are one of the most well versed authors I have read. Ever. I have read most of your work (is that creepy? nah!) and I love every single bit of it! You have such talent and a wonderful grasp on the characters and their relationships with each other. I wait with bated breath to read more of the stories I'm following from you and I hope you continue to pursue your writing (ever thought of it as a career?) for a long time.
My kindest regards and best wishes,
Quill And Ink
Author's Response: Thanks for reading, reviewing and the kind words :) Nah, it's not creepy; it's a huge compliment so thank you! Thought about it - yes. But I've also thought about being an astronaut. Anyway, thank you so much for the review and I hope you'll be reading for as long as I am writing :)

Chapter: An Awkward Conversation
I couldn't breathe through this chapter. But I think Hermione should open up to her dad, hard as it must be.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing again :)
I've not long started writing a chaptered fic about Hermione's relationship with her parents and Ron after the war. It's going to be months before it's ready to be seen, but it will happen eventually. Glad you liked this chapter!

Chapter: An Awkward Conversation
An intriguing use of irony in that Hermione could answer her father's question honesty, yet she is avoiding the issue by dwelling on behavior she dreads to share and doesn't have to share.
Author's Response: Thanks on reading and reviewing :) Yeah, I was hoping to show how she is comfortable with people like Ron and Harry, who understand what happened but isn't with people who weren't, no matter how much she loves them. Glad you liked it!

Chapter: An Awkward Conversation
Wow, this chapter was my favourite yet.
I feel like I completely understand where both Hermione and her dad were coming from in their disagreement. I found the end few paragraphs of this to be incredibly powerful, and the depth of her dad's love and fear for her was really touching, and the last line made me cry. The capitalisation of 'Daddy's Little Girl' was particularly powerful, as it felt like a title she'd always had, but had now lost.
The scenes with Ron were also well handled, they felt like the characters we know yet still damaged.
I can't wait for an update, as truly this was incredibly emotive, and the style of your writing is very enthralling.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! Wow, thanks! Yeah, the trouble with this is that they are both right, but neither are going to cave so it's a real stalemate. I'm glad you liked the Ron scenes as well. Obviously they are going to be different people after everything they have been through. Update may take a while as I'm having computer trouble but the story isn't abandoned - don't panic!

Chapter: Retirement and Responsibility
You have woven a nice tapestry of interconnected POV's. Is there a specific reason for the title or does the span of time simply frame the events you are writing about?
Nicely done. I look forward to the next installment.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing :) The reason for 'Nineteen Days Later' is sort of just what it says on the tin really - this is my idea of what happened on 21st May. Each chapter is slightly later in the day and from a different POV.

Chapter: Never Look Back
wow this is so good. i always wondered what the aftermath would be like, and you have written it exactly the way i imagined it. it would be interesting to see a scene with the trio too
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! I'm glad you're enjoying this so far :) There is only going to be a tiny bit of all three of them together but they will in appear alone and in pairs quite a bit. I hope that's okay!

Chapter: Never Look Back
This is really very touching. I think Percy's place in the Weasley family is so interesting, because he really doesn't fit in much at all, but I like the thought that the newer more mature Ron would reach out and help. Bravo, up to your usual high standard!
Author's Response: Thank you for reviewing :) Yeah, he is almost the least-Weasley of the Weasleys in a way. Still, he was always a Weasley at heart so I hoped the family accepted him back after the war.

I thought this was a great first chapter, it was well written without skipping out the level of emotion required to make it authentic. I look forward to more
Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing! It wasn't originally this angsty but I quickly realise that it had to be. More shouldn't be too far away :)

Chapter: The Ones Left Behind
Nice! I always enjoy reading my favorite authors' take on the days after the battle, and dealing with George is such fertile ground. I like how you've written Ginny, though I have a hard time with her and Harry not mending things up straight away. Its probably more realistic, however, for thee to be unresolved tension and angst. I can't wait to read the rest of this story and your future stories! You're becoming one of my favorite authors on this site!
Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing! Oh wow, thank you! I never think I spend enough time on here for people to remember me so I'm unbelievably flattered :) Post-DH George is a minefield - he's sad, yes, but he still has to be George. I always thought Ginny would be angry with Harry after the war. More of that comes up later in this fic though. Hope you enjoy the rest of this!
