Chapter: The Potion Master's Birthday

GINA!

This is so funny and wond3rful. I lov3 r3ading lim3ricks as a rul3, and th3s3 s3t mak3 an amazing tribut3 to th3 much harangu3d Snap3.

Will you do th3s3 for th3 oth3r charact3rs? Pr3tty pl3as3?

~Natali3

Author's Response: Get this, Natalie: once, long ago, there was a time when I was active in Poetry Anyone. In fact, I even ran poetry challenges! One of them was a limerick challenge. I didn't write this for that challenge, but that's when I first tried my hand at limericks. Sadly, I have not done many since. I'll keep your request for more in mind, though. :D Thanks so much for the lovely review!! ~Gina :)

Oh! I was giggling at this and smiling at your rhymes (in a good way) then I was brought up short by the ending. That's really quite sad. Wow, I CANNOT feel sorry for Snape - I really cannot.

Gina, I like this poem rather a lot and do wish you'd join PA - you'd rock that place so badly. (yes, we're tied, but I do have a Snape oneshot somewhere ...) ~Carole~

Author's Response: Ah ha! I made you feel sorry for Snape! How about that! That last stanza was different than the original, which was written (I think?) before the last book came out. I was going to leave it, but the word 'grin' in the original just jumped out at me as far too casual, so I finally came up with this ending, which I rather like. And yes, I probably should be in PA, but you know me and obligations. ;) Thanks for reading this, I really appreciate the review! ~Gina :)

That was great! The rhyming really worked, as did the rhythm and the flow and everything. The word choices were great too. I loved this poem--I don't come across that many Happy Birthday poems that are Harry Potter, and I'm glad you wrote this one and wrote it very well.

~Soraya~

Author's Response: Hi Soraya - Thanks so much for reading this! I'm glad you enjoyed it and found everything worked. I remember it being a bit tricky to write a ballad in limerick form. It was tricky just rewriting the last stanza, lol. Thanks so much for the review, I appreciate it! ~Gina :)
