Chapter: Chapter 1

Hey Jess! Now the results are out I can come by and let you know how great this is! You really excelled with this. The rhythm is spot on and I loved singing along to it. I also loved your take on the title and the way you worked in a narrative. That isn't easy to do so well done!

Author's Response:

Yay, I'm glad the slight misery that I felt because I put this off so long didn't go unrewarded. I'm just glad it didn't make the spork list, to be honest, lol. :D

Wonderful visit, Middle Earthling, and a wonderful challenge (no matter how aggravating, hehe)!

Wow!! This was great! The internal rhyming and everything was brilliant and I really liked how you based this on O Little Town Of Bethlehem! Happy New Year, Jess.

Author's Response:

This was originally written for the Carol Challenge in the Poetry Anyone forum, so the pickings were slim as to which carols I could do which weren't already done by someone else. :)

I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for reviewing as usual.

Oh, brilliant. Very good reworking of the song. I know this song pretty well and was able to sing along (yes I'm that sad), so you matched the rhythm of the original pretty well (I'd possibly cut either 'Merlin' or 'so' in the last line of the first verse because I stumbled a bit on singing it, but as a poem it scans very well.

Nice job. The effort paid off. ~Carole~

Author's Response:

Haha, Minna said the same thing about that line, but by that time, I had like... fifteen minutes before the challenge closed in my time zone, couldn't think of anything else, and yeah. I'll probably edit and cut the 'so' for the hell of it.

Glad you liked it, and I'm also glad it's over, too. :D
