Such a bittersweet fic. I liked your characterisation of Draco, and how he came to change. Hermione Granger had just saved his life with her own. - I think this line really sums up the whole fic and it's really beautiful. Just a small thing - you wrote Never again would he belittle those below himself. - this seems a little weird, as his whole realisation is that they aren't below him... perhaps you could say "Never again would he belittle those he thought to be below himself."

I loved the part where their blood mingled - it really symbolised Draco's change. I also think you did a good job of mixing in the song lyrics - they really added.

Just one thing - perhaps you should have put in an AU warning because Hermione dies? After all, that isn't canon.

Anyway, this was a beautifully written and haunting fic, but also a great tale of redemption.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you very much for this awesome review. I really like your suggestion about the line, thanks for letting me know. I will look into editing that and the Warning section soon. Thank you again for an insightful review :D

This was truly the sweetest thing Draco could have done. Draco never really struck me as evil, just misguided. But in this story, he knows what is right at the end.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it :)

This is very well-written.
The poem running through it all makes the message hit home.
The story overall is very powerful... I cried at the end.
Really excellent job!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading, reviewing, and the kind words :) I'm glad it got such a reaction!

This story is so sad! But it's really good, too. I love Draco's realization - I love how it's not sappy, and he doesn't have to fall in love with Hermione to see who she is, but that he just realizes he doesn't wish for her to be dead. Also, your writing style is very descriptive, and your extensive vocabulary really lets the reader see everything. I also really liked the songfic aspect of this fic - even though I've never heard the song! I thought it really added to the atmosphere you created. Just one thing, I think you might want to add a "DH Disregarded" warning to your fic. But I really enjoyed your fic - even though it made me sad.

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I'm glad to hear that Draco's realizations were reasonable; I tried really hard to make it believable. I absolutely love "See the Sun" by Dido. It's very, very lovely and I definitely recommend it :) I hadn't even thought about that warning. I can see why I should include it. I'll see about adding it on somehow. I'm happy you enjoyed my story, thanks again!

this was inspirational, to be honest. this fic did make me feel that Draco was human, and it's this kind of fic that gives people hope, despite the somber ending. i really do hope that more people read this. excellent job!

Author's Response: :) Thank you so much. I'm happy you found it inspirational, that means a lot to me.

That was... beautiful. And sad. And it made me want to cry -- which I eventually did. Great work.
