I love the story! I love reading! And Celie is my hero!!!!!!!
Author's Response: You are so sweet. I'm glad to have you as a loyal reader and reviewer! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
The romance begins... *squeals with delight*
Author's Response: I'm glad to hear that you think the Celie/Severus pairing is a good one. :) Thanks for the review! Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Okay I wanted to read this whole story before reviewing but I can't hold in my excitement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg! I live this so much! Another automatic favorite! I love Celie! I can't help but imagine myself in her place! I identify so well with her. Plus, since I'm reading the accidental family, I pretty much know her future, but I wanted to read her past. Great job!!!!!!!! I love you! You are my favorite author now! And since you took an unbreakable vow, you have to respond. :) how in the world did you ever come up with this?
Author's Response: My goodness, you have been a busy little reader this weekend! :) I just logged in and noticed how many reviews you have given me and I promise to respond to each one, but it may take a little while. Your enthusiasm in the series is greatly appreciated. I can't thank you enough for taking so much of your time and reading and reviewing my stories. It is so gratifying and exciting to see that someone somewhere is reading my work and enjoying it. Thanks for giving me a great boost of confidence! :) To answer your question, the idea for this story occurred to me one day while I was wondering "What would've happened if Harry had a Godmother?" Although Harry can be trying at times, he's always brought out the motherly instinct in me because he had such a crummy homelife with the Dursleys as an orphan. I always wanted him to have at least one decent person that he could call "family," so I created Celie's character. (The idea of a Muggle being inserted into the world of magic was just too tempting to resist.) Then, I started thinking..."What if Harry's Godmother was romantically involved with Snape?" That idea really generated a ton of possibilities because I knew that Harry would be guaranteed to have a royal fit when he found out. Also, the more I read, the more I was intrigued by Snape's character (and, of course, Alan Rickman's portrayal of Snape also played a big part!). When DH was released, I was quite mad that Snape had been so thoroughly taken advantage of by Dumbledore. (And don't even get me started on the injustice of what happened to him in the Shrieking Shack.) After reading the last book, I decided to embark on a one-woman mission to write Severus Snape a different (and much happier) ending. After finishing "The Accidental Godmother," I couldn't bear to part with the characters, so I described Celie and Severus's new life together in four sequels. Hence, that is the behind-the-scenes tale of how the "Accidental" series came to be. I can't wait to read all of your other reviews! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Oooohhhhhh snape and celie are in luv poor serius *mutters* always hated snape the slimy git
*shakes head sadly* seirious was a prat though i still like him better than the greasy ball of git
Author's Response: Thank you for sending me a review. :) I'm sorry that you don't like Snape's character; he features quite prominently in all of my stories. Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
me!
Author's Response: I hope that you are enjoying the story. :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Bravo! Another sad, yet wonderfully concocted chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you for continuing to read my writing! I'm glad to hear that you liked the chapter, even though it was sad. :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Gosh, this is heart-wrenching! I would be sobbing my eyes out if I wrote this!
Author's Response: Thank you for sending me my 200th review! :) Yay! To show my appreciation, I've commissioned Hedwig to deliver a jumbo-sized box of Chocolate Frogs to you, so be on the lookout! Thanks!!!! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Things are getting "hawt"! :-) Love it!
Author's Response: I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the story! :) Thanks for sending me a review! Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Thumbs up to your story and all the long, hard hours you put into it! Very creative! It's a shame J.K. Rowling doesn't read fan fics to get ideas. Snape was always the character who needed more "fleshing out."
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the story. :) Yes, it took quite a few hours for me to write this story, but I think it was worth it; I'm very pleased with the final product. To me, Snape was such an intriguing character. His presence really dominated each scene in the books that he was in. My objective in writing this story (and the sequels) was to try to give a little insight into Snape's character, since he makes fewer appearances in the books, in relation to the other HP characters. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Hey! That was an awesome story! I was addicted to it right from chapter 1 all the way to the epilouge. Loved your characterisation of Celie and your development of Snape. And the ending was absolutely fab. I'm so happy to see Snape get such a nice ending :) Thanks for writing such a good piece about one of my fav characters!
Author's Response: Thank you for such a complimentary review! :) I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the story, from the beginning to the end. Giving Snape (who is also one of my favorite HP characters) a happier ending was my sole motive in writing this lengthy story. It is so gratifying to hear that all of the time and effort that I put into writing this story was worth it! Thanks again for sending me your thoughts! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
i love your stories, i keep starting them over everytime i get to the end of your latest chapters.
Author's Response: I'm so happy to hear that you are enjoying my writing! :) Thank you for your complimentary review! Happy Reading! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Heard “In the Mood”? I've played it many, many times over the years, both on clarinet and baritone sax.
Author's Response: Hello again! I'm glad to know that you've heard of - and actually played - "In the Mood;" it is one of my all-time favorite songs. Thanks for continuing to read the story! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
I truly am enjoying this story. The only thing I'd try to talk you into changing if I were your beta is the overuse of "wisely" when someone is reacting to something. It stands out because you rarely use any other adverbs in describing how things are said or reacted to.
Author's Response: Thank you for sending me a review! :) I'm glad to hear that you are liking the story. When I go back through the story and reedit it again, I'll keep your suggestion in mind. I hope that you like the next chapter! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Hey Ruby. Thank you so much for writing this story! Snape has always been my favorite character so to have a chance to live inside his head for awhile has been awesome. You are so talented and I hope to one day see your books in a store. I would be your #1 fan. Please keep writing and know that you have a gift for this. This is by far the best store on this website. Well done!
Author's Response: Wow! What a wonderful and complimentary review! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! :) I am so happy that you are enjoying the story. Snape is also my favorite HP character; after reading Deathly Hallows, I was determined that he should get a happy ending, so I began writing my "version" of how it should have ended. I really want to thank you for all of your sweet support - it really made my day! :) I hope that you enjoy the rest of the story. Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
I just love Snape's snide comments about The Golden Trio. And, about Ron not being the dunce he had thought he was. LOL
When Celie got all upset not wanting to choose between them it reminded me of Lily's situation. She had her friendship with Snape but also her romance with James who Snape was at odds with. Was that intentional?
I'm glad Harry could try to be adult about the situation.
Author's Response: It is so much fun to write from Snape's point of view - I'm glad that you enjoyed his snarky comments about Harry, Ron, and Hermione. :) You brought up an interesting point about the similarities between Lily and Celie's situations - I didn't intentionally bring that up to compare Celie with Lily. When I was planning this story out, I thought that it would be really intriguing to write a story in which Snape gets involved with Harry's Godmother - what would be a funnier situation for both Snape and Harry? Thanks for the review! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Loved Celie having the final word with Lucius. Punch in the jaw! Brilliant.
Great story. Did you have this all sketched out before you started writing or did some of it come to you while you went along? Nice job.
Author's Response: Thank you for another complimentary review! :) I also loved the part when Celie punched Lucius - he deserved it so much! :) I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the story. To answer your question, before I began writing this story, I had planned out most of the main plot from the beginning to the end; however, as I wrote each chapter, the little 'extra' bits came to me, so I could flesh out each chapter and make them more descriptive. Thanks for all of your support and enthusiasm! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Again, really enjoying the depth and detail you've gone into with everything. One thing, though, I think you should have mentioned Slughorn earlier when you discussed Snape taking over DADA. Later on Snape mentions Slughorn and I did a little, "Oh yeah, he was the potions teacher after Snape."
I thought the earthquake death was interesting. At least her mom was happy!
Author's Response: Hello again, Amelia Bones! Thank you for taking the time to send me your thoughts! :) I really appreciate it and I hope that you enjoy the next chapter! Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Oh my gosh, I'm thoroughly enjoying this story. I'm soooo glad you just undressed Snape in one fell swoop and didn't indulge us in pasty white skinned details. Their consummation outlined on the Marauder's Map. LOL!!!! Brilliant! I was imagining what was going on in all the rooms of the castle. Umbridge "Aheming" with her kitten plates on the walls. Ron and Hermione arguing. Draco with her official badge on looking for rule breakers. None of them knowing that Professor Snape was giving Miss Morton a right good shagging! LOL Priceless.
Author's Response: I'm so happy to hear that you are liking the story! :) I really enjoyed reading about what you thought would be happening around the castle on the Marauder's Map while Snape and Celie were occupied. Thanks for sending me a review and I hope that you like the next chapter! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
It's me again. I love the way things are going. However, I have a question. Why did Snape call Celie Ms. Norris when he is saying good nite at the end of his last visit on this chapter?
Thanks, I'm just curious.
Author's Response: Hi! I'm glad to hear back from you again! :) To answer your question, Snape called Celie Mrs. Norris when he left because he was making a joke about his suggestion that she imagine him to be Filch when they had to dance in class. Since Snape would assume the role of Filch, he was teasing Celie by calling her Mrs. Norris. Thanks for the review and I'd love to hear from you again! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
I agree with you in the "what if" scenario. I cried when I read the end of Snape on DH and I'm really enjoying this "alternate universe" you are giving to a character who most of us might have hated during most of the series, to only cry for his misery and his death at the end. I think you did a great job and can't wait to keep reading the rest of you stories =)
Author's Response: Hello again, vanesitarifa! :) I'm thrilled to hear that you are still reading and enjoying the story! I'm glad that you are liking the alternate universe that I created; I was initially worried that people wouldn't be remotely interested in reading about Snape, but I'm so relieved to know that there are readers who are enjoying it. Happy Reading! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
