Please don't kill Secerus at the end.
Please please please.
Author's Response: Hello! Unfortunately, I can't tell you what happens at the end, but I think you'll be pleased. :) Thanks for the review and I hope you keep enjoying the story! Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Great chapter (length=yay!), I really enjoyed reading it! I love that they're officially husband and wife :) looking forward to your next update, and i'm excited that you plan on taking them through deathly hallows - that should prove interesting...
Author's Response: Hello again, iwishicouldwrite! I'm so happy that you enjoyed reading the latest installment of the story. :) I hope that you continue to like the story. I think I've got some good things planned for the remainder of the tale. Thank you for the review! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Excellent as always! Sorry I haven't posted a review of the last couple of chapters, but I've been keeping up!
I think your perspective on Lucius makes complete sense. And you're absolutely right about the long discussions, too - they are totally necessary. And well written, too.
Author's Response: Hello, starkllr! It's nice to hear from you again! I'm glad that you are still reading and enjoying the story! :) Also, I am happy to hear that you think the part I've added about Lucius makes sense- the Severus/Lucius friendship will be very important in the later chapters. Thanks for the review and I hope you like the upcoming chapters! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
great chapter, I love how it was so long :) The dancing part was really funny, hermione and ron's bickering was so cute, and i loved celie's thought that snape dancing was sex personafied! When snape told the story that his mother brought him to dance lessons so he could make friends was so sweet, poor snape! i love the fact that he bought a ring for celie, and I can't wait for the next chapter - update soon!!
Author's Response: Hello again! Thank you for the nice review! :) I'm glad that you enjoyed this chapter so much. Thanks for the input on the different parts of the chapter that you found especially memorable. Just so you know, the next chapter is even longer than this one! :) Happy Reading! Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Excellent!! Loved every second!
Author's Response: What a nice review! :) Thanks for your encouraging words! I hope you continue to like the story. I look forward to hearing from you again. Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Love it, as usual. I really like the way you merge the stories. After all, this didn't happen but we can perceive the background of the books by the way you write.
Keep it up please!!!!
Author's Response: Hello again, Bastet! I'm so thrilled to see that you are still reading and enjoying the story! :) Don't worry...I won't abandon the story. The new chapter should be posted by the moderators very soon. I'm especially pleased to hear that you think my fan fiction plot is "meshing" nicely with the real plot of Order of the Phoenix. Thanks for the review and I hope you continue to enjoy the story! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Love love LOVE it! I just finished reading this all the way through, and I'm completely hooked! I love seeing this softer side of Snape, and Celie is absolutely wonderful. You've done/are doing such a fantastic job! I can't wait to read the rest! :D
Author's Response: Well, thank you for such an enthusiastic and complimentary review! :) I'm glad that you are enjoying the characterizations of Severus and Celie. I am having so much fun writing about them. I hope that you continue to enjoy the rest of the story! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
i must admit when i read the story summary i was a bit skeptical - a romance involving snape? but after reading your story i love it! You really explore the complicated man snape is, who is more than just dumbledore or voldemort's right-hand man. Celie is a very sweet character, and i love that she was able to penetrate snape's wall protecting his emotions. i love her muggle studies classes, the topics you chose for her to teach were very interesting. i think you were able to add her to the complicated OOTP plot very well, and i also love what you've done with minerva's character.
Celie's digging into snape's questionable past should prove to be interesting...but i hope they'll stay together (when they were dancing in her room and she said "you're not greasy", my heart totally melted! I love snape and i'm excited to see where this romance goes (looking forward to celie's birthday...) update soon!
Author's Response: Thank you for such a detailed and complimentary review! :) I know that the words "Snape" and "romance" don't sound as if they would go together, so thanks for giving the story a try! I'm glad that, after your initial skepticism, you are enjoying the story. I am thrilled to hear that you feel that I'm doing justice to Snape's character; this was one of the main reasons why I wanted to write this story in the first place- to explore the character that J.K. only gave us tantalizing hints about. In addition, I'm happy to hear that you are liking Celie's character. As to Minerva McGonagall...I always thought that she had a humorous side to her strict personality and I'm more than happy to show that! Don't worry, since this is a romance, our couple is going to stay together, but don't expect it to be easy! Stay tuned for Celie's birthday- it will be quite eventful! Hope you continue to enjoy the future chapters. :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Excellent as always!!!
Author's Response: Hello again, nevilleherosnape! Thanks for the review. I'm exceptionally happy to hear that you are still enjoying the story! Hope you like the future chapters! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Enjoyed the chapter.
Author's Response: Hello again, rambkowalczyk! I'm really happy that you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for the review and I hope you like the future chapters! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Looking forward to the update. I check every day! I love how this story depicts love among the middle aged--it's not just for beautiful teenagers!
Author's Response: Hello and thank you for such a sweet review! :) I'm thrilled to hear that you check every day for an update! The moderators should be posting the new chapter very soon. I'm so glad that you are enjoying the story. What an interesting comment that you made about the story being about "love among the middle aged." Even though Harry and his schoolmates get all the attention, it's important not to forget the other characters! I personally feel that the idea of Snape and Celie finding love as adults is more compelling than the notion of "young love." To me, there is nothing more romantic than when two people, who feel that their opportunities for love are long gone, finally find a loving mate. Happy Reading! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Oh, it's getting better and better! I always read this with a smile on my face... it's so good to see Severus learning to trust again, and discovering that yes, he deserves to live and love, too!
Thank you for writing this, and for keeping so true to canon Snape, while developing the unseen, barely hinted at romantic at his core.
Author's Response: Hello again, SadiraSnape! I'm thrilled that you are still reading and enjoying the story! :) I am also very relieved to hear that you feel as if I'm keeping Severus close to his canon representation, while inventing his unseen side to fill in the missing gaps in his character. I try hard to correctly depict Snape, so he seems as true to the books as possible. Thanks for the review and I hope you had a pleasant holiday! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
And have a jolly merry christmas yourself dear writer!! Your updates will be sorely missed, but since I'm going on holiday myself... and won't be able to get too cozzy with any computer, I will be able to survive!!
Loved this chapter. I specially liked how you described the way Sirius is growing on Celie -like a fungus!!! LOL
Also, the way both of our sweethearts were insecure and thought the other was about to end it... I was cringing and wincing in fear of the dunderheads actually ending this baby relationship out of silliness!!!
I think I'm as looking forward to this mid-night caps as Severus...
Author's Response: Thanks for the review, Kaiserin! I particularly enjoyed writing the scenes with Sirius- he is kind of lovable in a warped way- and I'm glad to hear that you must have liked reading them, too. Like you, I'm also relieved that Severus and Celie got themselves straightened out before they did something rash! Unfortunately, they'll face more relationship hiccups before the end of the story, but rest assured, this story is ultimately a romance between them, so don't worry...Hope the future chapters don't disappoint! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
I really love this!! Have a happy Christmas!
Author's Response: Hearing that you are loving the story is an extra special present for me this year! :) Thanks for your encouragement and support! Merry Christmas to you, too! Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Wonderful, wonderful! Don't leave us hanging, like the mistletoe in Sirius' hand!
Author's Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed the chapter! :) The next chapter should be posted any day now. Thanks for the review and I hope that you continue to enjoy the story! Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
First of, had I not read this chapter being entirely alone in my room, I'd probably be locked up in a loony house somewhere. For I kept giggleing, whooping, hollering, pulling on my hair and clapping at the screen...
I absolutely LOVED that Sirius lesson Celie and Severus taught there! LOL! That was bloody brilliant! ^.^ Celie simply ROCKED! The taking notes line. Pure bliss.
Actually, I could have died happily just with that on the chapter... But, thanks Merlin, kept on!! And gave us that lovely, adorable, sweet declaration!! Snape was just so... argh! And Celie getting irritated and shooting him down for the wrong reasons... it was the perfect mix between corny and tart! Just, perfect! Simply, right!!! You rock!!
"You are a delightful nuisance.” I think that's got to be one of the sweetest compliments ever. At least in Snapeland! ^.^
Also, the little things were appreciated, like: Hogwarts, A history. Hermione is the best!! LOL! And the Remus/Tonks little details you showed.
PS: I literally squealed when Sirius sang Cecilia to her!! That's my name too, you know and a friend of mine used to tease me ALL THE TIME with it!! It's a good song too! LOL! I just hope Cecilia doesn't break Severus' heart! One more thing: Severus, Severus, Severus!! LOL!!
PS2: In case you haven't noticed... I'm loving this fic!!!! ^.^ Thanks for the early Christmas present!!!
Author's Response: Hello again, Kaiserin! I'm glad to see that you've returned to the story! :) Since I haven't heard from you in a while, I thought that maybe you had stopped reading it, so I'm really excited to hear from you again! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the chapter so much! Poor Sirius; he is so much fun to have around and I really hope he doesn't require therapy after seeing Severus kiss Celie! As always, thanks for commenting on the smaller aspects of the chapter, like Hermione's gift to Celie, the "taking notes" line, and the interactions between Lupin and Tonks. It is my hope that those "little touches" add a little something extra to each chapter. I'm relieved that you found the last scene when Severus and Celie make their declarations "perfect"...it was hard to write, but ultimately worth it! :) How funny that you have also had the "Cecilia" song sung to you! When I was brainstorming this story, I heard that song on the radio and I had a mental image of Sirius singing it to my unnamed female character-- that's how Celie got her name! Don't worry: Celie isn't going to break Snape's heart! Anyways, glad to hear back from you and I hope you continue to enjoy the future chapters! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
I can’t tell you how much I’ve been enjoying this story and the recent updates – the anticipation would’ve just been too much otherwise. Wanted to go back and leave my comments on this particular chapter, though, as it’s my favorite so far. Severus’ double-entendres are absolutely priceless, especially when his subconscious keeps surprising him. That alone underlines how far he’s out of his depth here. Still, it’s nice to see that you’ve drawn Celie as just the sort of woman who appreciates his caustic sarcasm.I wouldn’t worry too much about deviating from canon with respect to Severus’ love life. JKR’s version where he pines away inconsolably for Lily – and Lily, alone – was rather unrealistic, to my way of thinking. It’s only human nature to try again, even if he stumbles uncertainly due to his past scars. It’s just one more aspect of the man’s prickly nature that a woman would have to navigate – and thus, fits his profile perfectly.
Author's Response: Hello again, LA Moody! I'm so excited to see that you're still reading the story! :) Thank you for such a complimentary and comprehensive review! I always appreciate input from readers, especially when the reviews are as detailed as yours. I am glad to hear that Chapter 14, Part II was your favorite chapter- I didn't receive too many comments on this chapter and I was worried that it was a flop. I am completely enamored with Snape's sarcastic tongue and am very relieved (and ecstatic) to hear that you thought his lines were "priceless." :) Also, thank you for your validation of the whole Severus-Celie relationship. Initially, I was worried that some readers would not care for the deviation from the canon, in regards to Snape "getting over" Lily, so it is refreshing to hear that you, along with other readers, are okay with this change. Thanks for spending the time to tell me your thoughts and I hope you continue to enjoy the story! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Excellent as ever!
Will we see more of everyone else's reaction to Celie and Snape's relationship? Harry, especially, is going to be awfully conflicted about it, I'd imagine.
Author's Response: Hello again! I'm thrilled to see that you're still reading and reviewing! :) In answer to your question, we won't be seeing everyone else's reactions to Celie and Severus's relationship for quite some time. The reason Snape is being so secretive about the relationship (remember the spell he put on Celie's memories) is because no one can know about it- otherwise it would jeopardize Celie's safety and Severus's ability to be an effective spy. (This information will be explained in the story in the upcoming chapters.) Since you're such a loyal reader, I'll let you in on a little secret: Don't expect the news of the relationship to be revealed to Harry until the end of the story, which is a long time from now! And, yes, Harry is going to be quite shocked when he finally finds out about it. Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
I liked that kiss, and I like the way they are sort of circling around each other. And having him called just as things are getting interesting...
And whether you were going for this or not, she does come off as a bit...naive about Voldemort, as much as she does know about him, she doesn't seem to really KNOW...
Author's Response: Hello again, ProfPosky! It's good to see that you're still reading and reviewing! :) I'm so glad that you enjoyed the last scene of the chapter. Poor Severus really does have bad luck getting summoned at that exact moment! :) Yes, you are absolutely correct; Celie is naive about Voldemort and the evil that he is perpetrating. As she gets closer with Severus, and as the story progresses in coordination with the canon, Celie will see first-hand how terrible Voldemort really is. Hope you enjoy the upcoming chapters and thanks for the review! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
Wow! Origannaly, I thought," Ew!! Snape/OC? Gross, cuz, personally, I really dislike Snape, but now, you have me inviting all of my friends to come and read this fic, and I've NEVER done that for any fic before! So, GOOOOOOOD JOB!!!!
Author's Response: Hello! I am very touched that you like the story so much that you are recommending it to others! :) That's a real compliment and I thank you for it! I'm glad that you are enjoying the story after being skeptical about it at the start. I know that "Snape" and "romance" don't really seem to go together, but when the idea hit me, I knew it would be interesting to pair Snape up with Harry's Godmother, since he dislikes Harry so much. I hope that you continue to enjoy the story. Thank you for the review! :) Smiles, Ruby Emeralds
