Aww): My poor Sev-la. I hate that sinking feeling of a lost friend breaking tradition: You don't really expect them to show up, you pretend that you think they will, and it hurts just that much more when they don't follow through. Sympathizing, I really want to hug him!
HAHAHA. He was singing the Hogwarts anthem XD I always wonder how that sounds to everyone else...
I have to admit that when I saw "twilight" in the title, my thoughts did jump to the book, but I'm training myself not to think like that, so I immediately was like, "No, that isn't it at all."
Yummy story! I love the emotion in everything, from Sev's to Bane's to Fina's, but not so much Lily's because I know people like that XD Keep writing, you rock at it!
Author's Response: Kinda hard not to think of Twilight when MNFF has a "Are you a sparkly vampire? Twilight quiz" banner at the top of the screen. I have to admit Lily's not one of my favorite characters, and I think everyone knows people like that--unfortunately. :P
this was wonderful!!!!!
Author's Response: Thank you! :) Happy holiday!
I haven't been keeping up with your stories as much as I used to (that stupid thing called college got in the way) but now that it's Christmas, I can catch up on my Kerichi fix! And this was the perfect story to get me back in. Wonderful telling of the story, and I love how human Severus is here. Another winner!
You've given me another reason to love Christmas! :) Life's like that, inconsiderately getting in the way of fan fiction, heh, but I'll always be grateful you get a break now and then to read.
From Harry's perspective in the books, until the end he was so consumed with viewing Snape as the enemy he couldn't see his humanity, but fan fic writers like me have always been happy to fill in the gap. :D
I hope you're having a wonderful holiday, and have a Happy New Year!
Your stories are always a gift!
Thank you! I hope you have the happiest holiday for being so sweet! :)
Now the mystery is solved. I only opened my e-mail this morning (and not fan fiction), then Fynn and I sat down in front of the television and took a nap. When I came back to my e-mail there was something from mugglenet in my junk mail that said something aout a new story in the subject line. Then my computer seemed to freeze up a couple of times so I said to heck with it and just went into fan fiction. That's when I discovered you had a new story. As always, I wish it had been longer. I felt Severus' pain when he heard the rumors of the betrothal ring. I felt his faint hope that Lily would keep the tradition of brewing before the Christmas holiday. I felt his outrage when Fina thought he was a Hufflepuff:) Finally, I understood how he had to plan for the future and do something, just anything to get through the holidays. Wonderful story.
Thank you for finding the story in the junk mail, perservering to read it, and feeling for Severus! He isn't the first or last person to emotionally invest in one person to the exclusion of all others and then mourn their loss, but his pain is no less for it. Self-pity tempted him to go home and wallow in misery, but self-determination led him to the forest.
I think you and I both know something about getting through the holidays. May you find moments of comfort and joy this year! :)
the story as always is beautiful, where the readers can imagine every moment that you write, to every last detail.
Thank you so much for telling me that! As a review "gift", it's perfect, something I've always wanted.
Have a wonderful, blessed holiday! :)
