I know this has been up for a long time and I really don't want to be nit-picky, but I have a correction for the French. "Tu sais je t'aime tellement!" actually means: You know I love you so much! You would really say: "Tu sais combien je t'aime! Great story, though!

Unfortunately, along with my thanks, I must give you a sad bit of news: By Firelight is on hiatus indefinitely, and I don't believe it will be coming out of that state anytime soon. The truth is, I've made a transition away from Harry Potter fanfiction to something a little more modern/active/realistic. I speak of the TV show, Glee. I'm in the process of writing a Glee fanfiction now...
To tell you the truth, the reason I didn't respond for so long was because I didn't really know how to say all of that... I hope you're not angry... It couldn't be helped... There hasn't been new HP canon in four years, after all, and the next season of Glee starts in September. Author's Response:The Dementors had been spreading since the summer of 1996. They didn't actually know where the Order was, but they were pretty much in every city in Britain, doing what they do best. But they eventually came across Grimmauld Place, and when Minerva opened the curtain, that sort of got the Dementors' attention. Also, some of the protective spells were broken or weakened when Dumbledore died - not enough to let Voldemort find them, mind you, but enough to let Dementors sense their presence somewhere between Numbers 11 and 13 Grimmauld Place.

Usually I only comment the last chapter posted, but as I saw the end notes, I thought I could help a bit.
Correctly it should say: "Tu sais que je t'aime immensément! Pourquois as-tu peur de moi?"
Si, as a conjuntion, means "if". You can understand why it shouldn't be there. :p
Tellement is not right, not in this context.
If you need any help with the translations, feel free to ask. :p
(A little secret: don't trust that program. The problem is that sometimes it commits minor errors and the translation is understandable, but others it's just completly useless).

Another wonderful chapter that shows a completely different side of Draco than the one we know from canon. Two things grabbed me as I read. First, I loved the reference to his encounter with Harry and Ron on their first train ride to Hogwarts all those years ago. Getting to learn about how it felt from Draco's perspective is what grabbed my attention because I'd never considered how he viewed it. Second, Harry deserved to see Draco's apology to Ginny. As much as I like Harry and understand why he broke up with Ginny, there are some life lessons in those few paragraphs, hard ones at that, that he needs to learn and can do so only by being part of them. Keep the chapters coming... this is one of my all-time favorite stories!

This chapter was well worth the wait and I can sympathize with you over writer's block. Anyway, I can understand McGonagall's and Moody's reluctance to believe the Malfoys, but Dumbledore does have a valid point. I just hope that those two stop and think a moment before proceeding ahead. It looks like Ginny's already made up her mind about Draco and I'm glad he and Narcissa have her support.
Darn, I wanted it to keep going. Watching the gaps of the hidden treasures of Malfoy's life being filled in is riveting.
