Author's Response: Wow! Thanks so much for reviewing the fic! :) Yep yep, it does go back and talk about their years at Hogwarts - in fact most of the story follows their time at Hogwarts. And yes, it does start from the first year. :D I wanted to focus more on the personal struggles each protagonist faced while growing up before things got very serious and Voldemort blotted out everything else.
