Chapter: Chapter One - Confrontation

This is a horrible story. I'm not meaning that you're writing is horrible, for I absolutely love it. I mean that it's horribly depressing that Harry Potter's son has come to this, and that it ends with Harry Potter losing to his son who has no intention for good in this world.

Author's Response: Well, I'm not quite sure how to take that, but thank you for reading this story and for taking the time to leave a review! I'm sorry that you found it so depressing. I want to write more now so you can see what drove Albus to this point and what happens next. Albus isn't evil, after all - he's suffered a terrible loss, and just the slightest push drove him over the edge. Without spoiling much, I'd say he's not that far gone. ;) Thanks again! ~Gina :)

Chapter: Chapter One - Confrontation

An interesting tale, and I like the fact that it steps forward, many years into the future, and thus bypasses a lot of the usual next-gen cliches. The confrontation between Harry and Albus was dramatic and emotional, and the ending was quite a surprising turn.

It only suffers from being confined into a single one-shot. You had to shove a lot of backstory into a few paragraphs, leaving too much third-person exposition in places that would have read better if revealed over the course of several chapters. If you ever do write those other chapters, I'd love to read them.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the first review! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I am very glad I avoided cliches (that gets harder and harder in fanfic sometimes) and am thrilled you found the confrontation dramatic. That was the impetus for the story, I actually dreamed it! I know there is a good bit of back story, which is why I waited so long to submit this: it's been finished for months, but I couldn't decide whether to submit it as a one-shot or go ahead with more chapters. I added a bit more backstory than I might have otherwise to make it a one-shot, but there is more and I appreciate knowing that you would be interested in reading it - it makes me want to write it! Thank you so much!! ~Gina :)
