Chapter: The Only Goodbye

Well done. For me, Colin's death was one of the hardest hitting (probably the hardest after Fred.) You have used such good emotion, depth and imagery, I was able to picture his father as the milk bottle shattered on the floor. Congratulations on the deeply saddening, yet wonderful fic.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reviewing, I really appreciate when someone takes the time to let me know what they thought. It really was terrible how Colin died, and I suppose I'm pleased to hear that I hit the right note in my "memorial" to him, although it's terribly sad that I had to! Thanks again!

I think this was a great, very moving fic. I think that it was a very fitting memorial to this minor, but important character. It was a memorial that Colin deserved and you did it justice. I had tears in my eyes through the whole thing- the emotions were very well done. Good job!

Author's Response: I'm so happy you think this is a fitting memorial to Colin. That's exactly what I set out to do. I too had tears in my eyes as I wrote this - I just feel the plight of the Creevey brothers is not something that should be forgotten. Thanks so much for your kind review!

Very good. Especially for a first fic. I like that it looks at a character who is often ignored. We have seen fics about Fred's, Remus's and Tonks's death, but not one (that I have seen) about Colins.

You also write the emotions well. Colin was not a character I had much emotion towards, but you have made me feel for Denis.

Well done.

Author's Response: I'm glad I made you feel for Dennis - I wanted Colin to be remembered in some way. I agree - Colin's death is overshadowed by the final battle, and I wanted to make sure Colin wasn't completely forgotten. Thanks very much for your review (and sorry for the delay in the respsonse), I really appreciate it!

Hi, I'm so glad you got this approved - it's such a sweet one-shot! You already know what I think of it so this is just to say well done for getting your first fic approved and I hope there will be many more from you.

Author's Response: Thanks again for all your help! I have a feeling I'll be looking for it again very soon!
