Well I personally didn't like the ending. Since you know I'm all for lovey dovey happy endings, with little butterflys dancing around the meadow, and theres to people running across the meadow, and then the totaly hit there heads against each others since I'm not that cheesy. Here are the reasons why I didn't like it:
Ron didn't confess his undying love
Hermione didn't confess her undying love
They didn't end up together
(And heres the actually really annoying part for me) I don't know if your supposed to do it that way, and this could just be my hate for song fics like this which also makes me wonder why I read them, but you could totally tell what was going to happen next, and that really bugged me. I could have just read the song, and know what happend. All you did was add a little more detail. It was like I was reading a book, and someone kept telling me what was going to happen right before it happened rather annoying.

Anyway I'm done being a hag now, if you want you can just ignore this since I'm evil, and stuff. Ooh I hate writing down stuff on paper, I'm sorry for that. I don't like writers cramp either. I'm randomly talking about what you said in the end notes. This is probably cause I feel bad about beating up your story, or maybe since it has magic it beat up me. I guess I'll never know.

-Windy child of the meaness

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review! I know you don't think I am serious about this, but I really appreciate constructive criticism. I definitely don't think you're a hag for expressing your opinion, and I'm sorry that this story wasn't lovey-dovey enough. However, the song doesn't end happily, and it just didn't really seem fitting to me to give it a happily-ever-after. I usually write pretty light-hearted stories, so it was an interesting experience to write this, and I really appreciate the feedback. Again, I'm sorry you didn't really like it, and thank you for the criticism! (I really am sorry there wasn't any confessions of undying love, but I didn't feel the song really called for it.) Thank you again for the review! ~Katie

Hey Katie, guess who finally made it to your review section lol I'm in love with this story really. I enjoyed it the first time i read it and i enjoy it everytime I read it. there's something so profound and so sad in this story. The whole concept of love found, lost found again and lost again is very touching. I love your writing style, the way u incorporated the lyrics, and GREAT SONG!! it fits so perfectly well. Each and every line and its like you can almost SEE them in that booth sitting and talking, then making toasts.. its very sweet. Keep up the good work dear, and I'll check out the Hannah story once you're through :)
good luck!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the amazing review! I'm glad you made it to here, too, lol. I'm glad you found the story sad, but in a good way. I was afraid no one would like it because it was sad. I'm extremely happy to find that some people like that aspect of it. *grins happily* Thank you again for the wonderful review!rnrn~Katie

Just popping back in to say you are NOT a bad writer, you are a lovely writer! LOL.

Author's Response: Thank you. I have a problem with self-depreciation. But that definitely went toward my ego! I better go deflate my head, too. . . haha. Thank you again for the o-mazing review and all your support on the forums! ~Katie

Aww, this is good! Very well written. I'm not really sure why Hermione and Ron stopped hanging out, even if they didn't want to be in a 'relationship,' but the emotions themselves are really well written. Good job relating the story to the song, as well! I've always wanted to try a song-fic, and there are a lot of good songs out there, haha.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review! About the whole relationship thing. . . I was having some difficulties with that. I decided short and sweet was best, but now I wish I had explained it a little more thoroughly. The problem is, everything made so much sense in my head, I thought everyone else would catch on just as quick. . . I'm such a bad writer, lol. Thank you again for the great review! ~Katie

Well, its true that it does soften the blow to know that Ron and Hermione end up together in the books. I was really happy with Rowling for that. :) Anyway, I'll have to listen to that song that inspired this fic. And I promise, this is the last review! lol

Well, I knew the ending had to be that way because of the plot of the story, but the romantic in me still wanted Hermione to run away with Ron, or something like that. I know, unrealistic, right? Anyway, I just didn't want it to seem like I was too harsh about the fact that I didn't like the ending. I did and yet I didn't, if that makes any sense. Hope you write some more fics soon! :)

Author's Response: Yes, that does make sense, and I can totally see where you're coming from, wanting Hermione and Ron to have it made, but like you said, the plot didn't allow it. It was supposed to end the way I made it end, and although that ending made me sad, too, I consoled myself with the thought that in the books they ended up together, and that a lot of other writers have paired them up. So I figured it would be okay if I had one little story where things didn't go quite the way they were supposed to be. But that's life for ya. Kinda stinks sometimes, living, but I think overall it's usually pretty nice, don't you? Anyway, thank you yet again for the review(s), and I hope you have the chance to read more of my fics soon (as I haven't written any new ones lately)! ~Katie

Well, I didn't like the ending of this fic, but I thought it was very creative. I really liked the way that you intertwined the song lyrics with the story. It definitely added an artistic flair to the story, and it also added a deeper meaning as well. I felt so badly for Ron and Hermione at the end of the story, and also, I didn't understand why they broke up in the first place. Did they just feel like they were too good of friends or was it because of the final battle? That part just confused me a little. But, overall, I really enjoyed the story and the song lyrics. Great job! :)

Author's Response: Thank you for the great review! I'm sorry you didn't like the ending, but that was the way it had to be. In my opinion. And I am the author, after all. :-) As to your confusion about Ron and Hermione breaking up: they broke up because they both thought they were just too different. They were seventeen and unwise. Now it's a couple years later and the realize their mistake, but they can't go back, now that Hermione's married and all. So a sad ending, but it kinda fits, you know? Anyway, thank you again for the wonderful review! ~Katie

When I saw the response to my last review, and saw the 'self-promoting' (which i really don't find that bad) i remembered that I had actually already read this one first and forgot to review! This was amazing and I loved how Ron could tell that Hermione didn't love her co-worker that she married and it seemed that Harry was perfectly in canon in the brief mentioning of him. Also, Rona and Hermione are in canon all the way as well!!!!!! I've only heard the Dan Fogelberg song 'Longer' on American Idol when David Archuleta sang it, and other than that I've never heard of one of his songs, so I definitely have to look out for this one! And anyway, this was really good. I think that Ron meeting Hermione on night after not seeing her for a few years was a really good idea and I loved it1 It really could have happened, actually! I hope you post more stories because you really are amazingly talented, so I hope I see more from you! (long reviews really are my specialty, aren't they?) {Becca}

Author's Response: *is speechless for a few moments after reading all the way through that amazingly, wonderfully, truly and terrifically nice review* THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! That review totally made my day (not to be rude to all the other reviewers that left great reviews, too, of course)! Yes, by the way, long reviews are definitely your specialty. :-) I was rather partial to the way Ron could tell Hermione didn't love the guy she married, too. And thank you so very much for the compliment on Harry! I was a little worried about that part. I was worried he'd seem to. . . I dunno. Non Harry-ish, I suppose. So it's good to know it worked okay! And I am REALLY REALLY REALLY glad to hear that Ron and Hermione are in-canon, too, because I was even more worried about them. I was afraid people would think Ron was too. . . grown-up and matured, but people really seem to like him! *is relieved* Regarding your Dan Fogelberg comment: Yeah, this is a really good song! Umm. . . *goes to find a link* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKUBuLzDtJU clicky (or Cut and Paste) that. It's the song, with a rather amateurish slideshow of all his album covers and some pictures. *blushes at the praise for her writing* Thank you for the amazing compliments! They have really boosted my confidence in myself, so another humongous THANK YOU for that! I hope to see more from myself, too, as a matter of fact! Thank you again for the wondrous review! ~Katie

Cool story. That is one of my favorite songs and you did a great job of blending it into your writing.

Author's Response: Wow! It's one of your favorite songs? Me, too! (Well, duh, Katie! That's why you wrote the story!) Anyway, thank you for the great review! I like to think that the story went quite well with the song (again because [duh, Katie] the plot line was based upon the song). Another huge 'THANK YOU' for the terrific review, and another one for reading! ~Katie

I love Dan Fogelberg, and that song is especially poignant for anyone who had a "what if this had lasted" sort of moment. You did a lovely job translating the moments of the song into your story, but I kind of have trouble imagining Ron as a glamorous Quidditch player!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! Actually, I have a hard time seeing him as a 'glamorous' Quidditch player. In my mind, he's a good one, but he's grown up a bit from the Trio's school days and he's really modest about it. He's sorta in the background, and really just kinda likes to be left alone. Again, thank you for the o-mazing review, and I am gratified that you read this (in my opinion) moderately-good little fic. ~Katie

I've never heard this song, but the lyrics seemed to suit your story and your mood. I think you really captured the maturity and wistfulness of the characters, which must have been hard because they didn't have either when they were at school. It was a sad ending, but it felt right. Brilliant job!

Author's Response: *is bowled over by the sincerity and praise*rnTh-th-thank you. . . *glances around to make sure you aren't talking to someone else*rnrnIt wasn't actually that hard to give Ron's character a little more maturity and to tone down Hermione's know-it-all-ness, but I'm flattered by your attention to that. rnAnd yes, it was a sad ending, but I felt that it needed to end that way. Like you said, it felt right.rnrnThank you for the amazing review, for reading the story and for the wonderful compliments!rnI apologize for how long this reply took to get to you; RL has been crazy this weekend.rnAgain, thanks!rn~Katie
