Chapter: Prologue: Beginnings and Ends

Interesting. Ever since I heard about Dumbledore's prefrences and his "relationship" with Grindelwald, I've been wanting to read some fan-fiction for the pairing. I always procrastinated on searching for it, because I didn't want it to be a bad experience that would taint things forever. Then lo' and behold, one of my favorite and most trusted authors has put forth the exact thing I'd been thinking about!

I'm excited to see more chapters for this story! You have taken on a big project in this story, In my opinion. We don't know young Dumbledore all that well so it's up to you to create a believable guy and character! I think you can do it! good luck! :)

I was waiting for you to write something like this. :) Glad you got around to it. I found myself wondering how you envision Albus and Gellert while I was writing my own spin on it. Mine's just a short story, though, which got hardly any notice at all.

You're off to an excellent start. You've pulled off the young Dumbledore very well; I can still tell it's him, but I can also tell that it's a different version, not an old man in a teenager's body, but a real teenage Dumbledore. I'm very interested to see how this continues, so this story will be placed into my favourites right away! :)

Chapter: Prologue: Beginnings and Ends

I'm sort of blown away. Dumbledore as a young man was always hard for me to wrap my mind around, even in DH, but you've really got something here. Interaction between Dumbledore and Doge was smooth and convincing, and the nicknames got a laugh out of me. Dumbledore's reaction to his mother's death was particularly well done.

Have you ever read T.S. Eliot's 'The Wasteland'? There's a bit at the end of Part V, 'What the Thunder Said', that makes me think of the Dumbledore and Grindelwald whenever I read it...

Anyway, it was an elegant and aloof beginning, beautifully written, and I'd love to see how you handle Grindelwald's character.
