I love this story! Bringing in a Jewish character was really original and created a very new and exciting twist to Hogwarts. I also love how you've intertwined both the Muggle and the magical world. Can't wait for the next chapter!

MY one quibble is - why do they have to send all the way to Prague for kosher meat? There are and were observant Jews in England!

Wow, this story is really amazing. Usually I don't read the historical ones, opting more for post-Hogwarts, but you really know all of your history and stuff. This is ridiculously good. Thanks!

Chapter: Chapter Fourteen: The Coming of the Wars

I loved this last chapter. Dumbledore's brilliant isn't he? You've kinda brought the magic back to his character that he lost after DH, i'm afraid he was starting to look a little too flawed and human for my liking. Anyway, what a coincidence, or was it, that Zippie is going to stay with Edward over the summer, did Dumbledore have a hand in that too I wonder. And it also seems as though Millie is willing to put her grudge aside for Zippie's sake and i'm glad. You've left me with a feeling of hope, I know there's a war coming and difficult times are ahead, but this chapter gave me hope, maybe it's the flyi8ng at the end. Can't wait for the epilogue.

Chapter: Prologue

I've been reading this story since about the 13th chapter, and I must say (slightly premature) congradulations on finishing such a good quality work. It was a fun read, well written, and showed a good amount of developement in what stood out as the main focus--navigating the overlap of two different cultures in a time of extreme political tension and cultural changes. However, one thing stood out that made this a hard read--the romance plotline. As far as I know from canon, there were no indications of Harry having any Jewish relations--though of course he is an orphan and thus knows less about his family history than most would. Still, I'd think something like Tziporah's life at Hogwarts might have been mentioned to him at some point in the books--perhaps as advice on fitting in, or as a story by Dumbledore about a family member who likewise went to school in a generation whose lives were interupted by the tides of war. While if things work out this way (and I'm hoping that the epilogue can shine some light on this) I can acept it as a minor breach of canon, or even something that simply got mentioned "off-screen", I don't see how the fact that he was a Potter was integral to Edward's character--an OC with a similar personality could have played the same role, and not raised this issue. I realize it's a nitpicky point, but it resulted in me reading the story with half my brain (the part that enjoys reading for pleasure and follows the story) cheering every developement in the E/T plot and the other (the rational canon obsessor/analyzer) cringing at every new chapter. I'm interested in seeing how this story ends, and if this issue will be address. Overall, as I said, you've produced a fine work, and I congradulate you.

That was beautiful. What a charming, bittersweet ending. I can see how wrapping it up with an epilogue that can do it justice will be a challenge; part of me wishes you would write more stories about Zippie and Edward, but I think this one was pretty complete. This has definitely made it to my small list of all-time favorite fanfics.

Chapter: Chapter Thirteen: Betrayed

This is a really wonderful chapter!

I'd like to put the "horns" into some historical context, its certainly not made up by the author! In fact, if you look at Michaelangelo's sculpture of Moses, which was commissioned for the tomb of Pope Julius II, you will see that this revered Biblical figure has horns.

The reason is commonly given (and I quote Rabbi Hillel Goldberg) "Michelangelo's Moses has two horns on his head because Michelangelo's Bible, the Latin Vulgate, mistranslated Exodus 34:29 as "Moses had horns" instead of "Moses' face shone." "

Thank Merlin for friends. That was so scarey. Zippie was very inventive, first years don't know so many defensive spells so a levitation charm came in very handy. I'm sad to hear that the story is nearing a close, I've really been enjoying it, can't wait for the next chapter though, hope Millie now sees that Edward is a good guy, and I hope Zippie won't have to leave Hogwarts. Will you be continuing this fic as a series or will everything be rounded off in the epilogue?

Author's Response: I've glad you liked the story (I put a lot into it, so it's very nice to hear that), and I'm sad it's over too. But I just couldn't keep it up much longer, so I thought I should end it while it was still good. I don't plan on making it a series, simply because then I'd have to get into the romantic stuff between Tzipporah and Edward, and you can't even imagine how awful I'd be at that. But I promise the epilogue will round things off nicely.

Chapter: Chapter Four: Aboard the Hogwarts Express

great story! the only problem I have with it are the inaccuracies regarding the religious practice. is she orthodox? because if so you have a LOT of mistakes. other than that, awesome. It's amazing.

Author's Response: I'm really sorry about the mistakes. Zippie is supposed to be orthodox, but the problem is, I'm reform, so I know next to nothing about the really serious religious practices, and I did hardly any research (I had a feeling it would make it hard for me to write). So unfortunately this fic isn't accurate - it's mostly meant to entertain.

Chapter: Chapter Thirteen: Betrayed

It really surprised me that anti-Semitism was enough to unite the three "good" houses of Hogwarts in hatred. Another shock was the Hufflepuff boy's use of the Cruciatis Curse; I wonder what will happen to him. How old is Edward? It seems their is some kind of ship between them, but from what I remember I think he's really old. Thank you so much for your update and I look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: Yup, well, anti-Semitism is scary stuff - powerful, too. And the cruciatus curse just shows how awful it really makes a person. Edward is in 2nd year and Tzipporah is in 1st, so their relationship is (at this point) strictly friendship. But if you're waiting for more than that, hold on for the epilogue!

wow. crazy! for some reason I thought this story would go longer than you seem to have planned. I really like this story; I always wonder about muggleborns and how what they learn as kids affects their attitudes as members of the magical community.

That was an exciting chapter, and it was nice to see so many other students coming to Tzipporah's rescue. The idea of Hitler Youth Muggle-born wizards never occurred to me. The wizarding world's ignorance of Muggle culture explains why none of the teachers thought to do anything about the swastikas.

This story is perfect:)

I love the combination of muggle/magical historical events, romance (Edward and Zippie), and the suspense. I can't wait to read the next chapter because the cliff hanger you left!

It also helps that it's very well written and error-free- keep updating!

Nazism and pure-blood fanaticism? Not a good combo! That is, if that is what the Nazi students believe in too, along with Nazi beliefs.

No! Don't let Zippie get hurt, please don't let them hurt her! She's going to think Edward betrayed her confidence isn't she? Apart from the last paragraph I absolutely loved this chapter, Zippie and Edward are getting on so well and she's finally found something she's truly brilliant at, your descriptions of the flying were amazing by the way. Until the next update I'm going to believe that the Ravenclaw scum will capture Zippe, she'll contemplate Edwards involvement, he'll rescue her ergo her faith in him is restored, and Millie will finally see that he's a wonderful person. Meanwhile her father will escape and make his way to England, and they'll all live happily ever after. Sorry, but i'm going to extreme measures to ensure that the last paragraph of this chapter, the one that struck such fear into my heart, will not plague my every thought until the next chapter is up.
