Chapter: Admiration

God, I'm so not worthy. Um, This story is beautiful in so many ways. Gah, I don't even know what to say.

Ok, let's see if I can write you a proper review.

Well first of all, if your writing hiatuses make you turn out something that is this well-written, well then I say take longer hiatuses. Personally, I think this is a wonderful follow up to Endlessly, She Said, which as you know, I absolutely love. But there's something about this story that is just...better (wow, I fail) and not just because you wrote it for me. I think your writing has matured a lot, and it's really evident here.

Your prose is amazing. And I'm not just saying that because it's you. There are some lines in this story that I read and had to go back and read again just so I could take in the full meaning. This is the...third time I've read this (though the first one really didn't count as I was crying so hard) and every time I'm blown away by lines that have weight to them, that say more than what you take away at first blush. Like this one:

But now, with the sun slowly creeping up past the horizon, the trees swaying gently in the wind, the birds singing their repentant songs, time seemed to be moving too slowly.

I don't know what it is about that line, but it created so much imagery for me...almost like it brought me into the scene that you were creating and my god, that is such a feat. Like I don't know how to praise you enough for being able to do that. The best authors are able to transport their readers to their world and that line really does.

The characterization is pretty much spot-on. It's funny, because I think I know what you were trying to get at with Ron and Hermione and I got to tell you, you did it pretty much perfectly. Again, I see a lot of you in this story. I see all the good things that I associate with you: the understanding, the caring, the loyalty, but most of all the comfort and reassurance. To convey that much emotion without being overly sappy of fluffy takes some serious talent.

You convey so much emotion too. Obivously, this made me cry (I know, so surprising) but it was more than that. I mean the conversation between Ron and Hermione didn't feel staged, or overly showy like a lot of these can turn out. Instead, it felt you could actually imagine two people having this conversation. Sometimes, you don't even have to imagine. >.> I think creating that realness is definitely a strength of yours. This isn't's genuine love and caring.

My Rachel, I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this story and how much it and you mean to me.

And just so you know, you're the one that I admire and always will....yes, even when everything else is gone.

Author's Response: Okay, so first off sorry it took so long to respond to this review. Every time I began to I seemed to get distracted and eventually I gave up fighting the powers that be. Uhm, ANYWAY. >.>

Dude, I don't even know how to respond to this. I guess I will start by saying omfg, THANK YOU for the review which is quite possibly longer than the actual story. Seriously, you didn't have to do that. But I endlessly appreciate it. And am SO glad that you liked the story... and am also glad that you thought it was realistic, because that's honestly what I had intended. I wasn't even thinking about a specific time, either - I just wanted to convey a realistic conversation between two people... thankfully you thought Ron and Hermione happened to be in character, because, you know, that's the part that I always forget to think about when I'm writing. >.>

And dude, it means so much coming from you that you think my writing has matured... I can sort of see that as well... it's the same thing like when I go back and read old LJ posts and I'm like WTF? This clearly goes for fanfiction as well. *nods*

And dude, you did NOT just tell me to take longer hiatuses. Do you even know who you're talking to? SHIFTY EYES.

Uhm, ANYWAY. Thank you again for the wonderful review, my dear. ... I would use the Dig line but I'm trying not to be redundant. How's this: Because maybe, you're gonna be the one that saves me... and after all, you're my wonderwall. There. Not as Brandony but less cliche... but Dig still pwns. omfg, how freaking long does it take a person to say goodbye IN A REVIEW? Okay, I understand our analness [>.>] on the MAN to some extent, but holy crap this is the vicious cycle from hell. Well then, on that note. *LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES*

Rachel! *squishes*

Wow. That story left me just so warm inside (which is good, seeing as I have a bad cold). Ron and Hermione were characterized perfectly, and it was beautiful. It's hard to believe there was no beta; it's perfect. Suya will be happy once she sees this. :) *hugs*
