Chapter: Put Thy Trust On Egypt

I loved how you started this, with each year of Fleur's life since GOF.

Just reading other reviews I thought it was worth mentioning that I like how you wrote Ron as living with George about the shop. I think it's completely plausible that Ron and Hermione are still not living together. I don't think George or Angelina would have been over Fred by this point either so I'm glad you didn't write that they were living together. It's great as it is, otherwise it's just a list of couples.

I do think it would be worth changing Penny's name to Audrey.

I love the title, Abigail. This story was very different, very unique.

I love the way the story was started. How Fleur recounts her past, leading up to Bill, eventually to the present where she is married to him and has had Victoire. By the way, I really love how she got her name--- very memorable. It just shows how great the final battle was to their world.

And Philippe? What a little snot! A great friend, he is. And it seems that I was the only one who thought the romance was in the past, for he kissed me. I know that they were old friends, and since they had been catching up he had naturally known she was married. Or had she declined to mention that detail? Probably not.

I saw a flash of red hair in the light of the streetlamps. Bill. He'd seen. How did Bill know where to find her? How had he known that she would be in exactly that place, as if he were expecting her to do such a thing? It just strikes me as odd as how he could be in the worst possible place at the worst possibly moment.

I'd also just kissed another man.

Nobody had seen him. I really like these sentences. They're solitary, alone, and so in-your-face. They remind us how deep the situation really is. Good work.

I Flooed every member of the family — George and Ron's apartment above Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes — Percy and Penelope's house in Yorkshire — Harry and Ginny's apartment in Holyhead — Charlie's cabin in Romania — even Bill's great-aunt Muriel, whom I despised. I really like how you've incorporated the entire Weasley family, and everyone who lives together seems in accordance to what JKR said happened to the characters after Deathly Hallows. But something about George living with Ron, even after all these years, stuck out as odd to me. I thought that, especially after the kiss in the final book, that Ron and Hermione were going to get together. It always felt to me that R and H would get married before Ginny and Harry, or at least around the same time, and at least by the time Fleur would be twenty-four, three years after the Final Battle.

I really love the ending. Bill's return home is very sweet, and it just shows how great their love is. Very nice work.

I remember talking about this story with you, and I'm so glad I looked through the SPEW Story Updates thread before reviewing so I got to read it!

Fleur's clear strength is alluded to in the last sentence of each experience: I was honoured to be selected as the finest of Beauxbatons Academy, but at the end, only three of the four champions were left alive. It's kind of an oh, right, that! moment. You introduced that beautifully.

The little extra details you give the reader are wonderful, like that Victoire was named in honour of the victory over Voldemort, that Fleur was nearly strangled after announcing her pregnancy to Molly.

I also love how the whole thing leads up to the story itself, how Bill and Fleur's past together makes their present possible.

Ugh, Philippe is marvelously inconvenient. From the corner of my eye, I saw a flash of red hair in the light of the streetlamps. Bill. He'd seen. He'd seen, and he wouldn't understand. How did Bill get there in the first place? How did Fleur know it was him? It seems as though Fleur would have one more thought about that, like 'He was here to surprise me, and it was he who was surprised.' or something of that sort.

George and Ron's apartment above Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes — Percy and Penelope's house in Yorkshire — I love how your incorporated the whole family here. However, it seems as though Ron would be with Hermione and Percy with Audrey, in light of recent revelations, wouldn't you say? If George must have company, then maybe Angelina, his future wife?

I'd also just kissed another man. Aah, again that slap-in-the-face utter truth. I love that about this story and your writing.

That evening, Harry and Ron stopped by the cottage. They told me that they could find Bill for me, if that's what I wanted, but I told them no. Oh, how sweet of them! It's so Harry-and-Ron-Gryffindor, and so Fleur to refuse. *sigh*

Bill's homecoming is so utterly precious, I can't stand it. And smut! Their whole meeting is just guh. Still, though, the beginning is the best - Bill stroking away her tears, combing her hair, just loving her.

Your story was so perfect, dear; my nitpicks were, um, a stretch. Let me just say there's no way I could be gladder I advised you choose this pairing. Hee!

That was quite an interesting read. I rather enjoyed the dynamics between Bill and Fleur - quite believeable and very in character. I also like how Fleur is incredibly attatched to her child and how very in love she is with Bill. That was a lovely story about a lovly pairing.
