Chapter: Chapter 10: What Dreams May Come

This chapter made me laugh very hard. It was pure Dumbledore when he suggested that he might be the Ghost of Christmas past. If we've had four visitors so far, does that mean there are three more to come? I take back my guess on Hermione's grandfather. My new guess is for Severus Snape. Albus does need a middle name, after all.

Author's Response: I do love Dumbledore, though he's very difficult to write. He's always so blood cryptic, but also very wise, so it's a difficult balancing act to maintain. So you think Ginny will dream of old Snape, huh? We shall see!

Chapter: Chapter 22: Meet the Parents

I think this is my favourite chapter since Sirius appearance. I loved the way you wrote James and Lily, just how i imagine them to be. And that place Lily took Ginny to, is it the same place we see in the pensieve in Snape's thoughts? And when Lily said the second trial for Albus would be to turn somebody away from the darkness, was she talking about Scorpius Malfoy? If so, does this mean that Albus, Rose and Scorpius will be friends? And will they all be in Gryffindore, or Slytherin, or will this friendship reach between the houses? Or, will Albus befriend Scorpius on the train and turn him away from Slytherin before they even reach Hogwarts? Wow this chapter has given me loads to think about, it'd be brilliant if you wrote Albus' story too, but I guess that'd be quite a task. I also think it's a bit of a cheek an old spirit choosing to be reborn, aren't there any brand new spirits with no baggage? Anyway, can't wait for the more, hope the birth isn't too frightening for them.

Author's Response: Yes, the place Lily took Ginny to is indeed the wooded grove from DH where she talked with Snape when they were children. As for who the second companion is, you'll just have to wait and see on that one. I'm not telling yet, though there's been a lot of speculation that it's Scorpius. I've had quite a lot of calls for me to write a sequel in order to tell Al's story, but I haven't quite decided yet. I need to take some time away from this story first, I think, and give myself a chance to mull it over (or "Mule it over" as my son used to say when he was little). The birth will be coming up soon. Thanks for your lovely review.

Chapter: Chapter 21: Journey's End

This chapter was so real, and the bickering between the Weasley's as they waited for news and for Harry was brilliantly done. I'm really glad that Harry and Ginny had that talk, sort of cleared the air. I can understand Ginny worrying that she somehow caused the complications with the pregnancy because she hadn't wanted another baby so soon, I think many of us blame ourselves for inexplicable things because we need someone to blame. All the way through i've thought it really clever how you present Ginny with their lost loved ones in a way thats as real as possible. What i mean is, she doesn't realise she's asleep at first, she gets up for a glass of water, or appears to wake after a doze in the chair, or needs the bathroom. Thats how I'd expect such an experience, many dreams are jumbled absurd and unreal. Sorry I'm rambling again. Anyway, great chapter.

Author's Response: Actually, I once had a dream that I had gotten up to go to the bathroom, and when I woke up I was very surprised to find that Ii still had a full bladder. Strange the way dreams work, isn't it? I've read that dreams are sort of coded letter from our subconscious and it can be like working out a puzzle to analyze them. I'm usually better with other people's dreams than my own, though. And yes, those endless hours in hospital waiting rooms when everyone runs out of things to say until they start sniping at each other are pure torture. I've been through a lot of those (some fairly recently, if you read my AN) and I can always think of 4,896,037 things I'd rather be doing. I loathe hospitals - people die there! Thanks so much for your always thoughtful comments.

We get to find out about the dream next. Yay! Haha and Harry is going to have a good night...

Author's Response: A very good night, at least in my imagination, though your own can take it anywhere you please! Lol! Thanks for your comments.

Oh, I loved this chapter! Very well written. The chosen one thing sounds really interesting -is your story going to cover Albus' life - or is there going to be a sequel?? Please?? haha. Great job though.

Author's Response: I'm not going to cover a lot of Albus's life in this one, just the first few months or so and then an Epilogue that picks up when he's about 7 years old. As for a sequel, time will tell. We'll see. Thanks for the vote of confidence, though!

Chapter: Chapter 22: Meet the Parents

“We would have loved one another, you and I.” I think that is the most beautiful thing I have read in a long time. I think Lily would have loved her too and I am glad that you put that in this story. I can't wait to read the rest of this story. I like how Rose and Scorpius are also joined with Albus in his destiny. Happy writing! Cheers!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I agree that Lily and Ginny would have gotten on very well, but if she had lived, Harry and Ginny might never have gotten married. Or maybe they would have, but Harry would have been a very different person, wouldn't he? I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. It was incredibly difficult to write, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. Thanks very much!

What a beautiful chapter. It was nice to finally meet "Lily Potter". I do think she and Ginny would have loved each other.
Please keep on with this wonderful story. I think its wonderful that Rose will be there to help Albus with his quest. Is the other one of the future trio Scorpius?

Author's Response: I do think Lily and Ginny would gotten on quite well. Though of course if Lily had lived, Harry's situation would have been very different, wouldn't it? It's interesting to speculate. As for the third member of the "new" trio, that will be revealed in a future chapter. Thanks for your comments!

Yay! I figured Lily would show up eventually, but James I never thought of. Great chapter! I'm on to the next! The mods are REALLY getting this story out quick. Cyber cookies for the mods and you for this wonderful story! Glad to hear your Father is getting better. I hate hospital waiting rooms too. Cheers!

Author's Response: Yes, they are on an efficiency drive lately, aren't they (the Mods, I mean). Indeed, dozens of cyber cookies (or biscuits as the Brits would say) for all the Mods. Thanks for commenting.

Okay, best yet! The legend, and Rose and Scorpius, I'm very impressed. The complexities of the plot amaze me. I really hope you write the sequel...*kneels to beg properly*

Author's Response: I haven't quite decided whether or not to write a sequel. I definitely need a bit of a break first to let my poor fried brain recuperate before I attempt anything that amibitious. We'll see. But thanks for the vote of confidence.

Once again fantastic chapters!!!
classic lines:
"Honestly!" Lily rolled her eyes. “Can’t you even make a compliment without flattering yourself?”

“That’s Potter calling Black a kettle."

lol, absolutely great!

Author's Response: Glad you liked it. Couldn't resist the 'Potter calling Black a kettle' line. It was almost too easy. Thanks so much.

Chapter: Chapter 15: Puzzles, Plans, and Portents

i am so nervous about what happened to Harry

Author's Response: Ah, he'll be okay. You know Harry. He always comes out of it all right. rnrnP.S. I just realized on your last review you were talking about the dream with Dumbledore! Sorry about that, I was on a different wavelength with another dream. No, the Dumbledore dream won't be the last, but the others are pretty cool. At least everyone else thought so. And they are finally explainied near the end, so it's all okay.

i can't take amymore of these dreams

Author's Response: This is the last one. Ginny is about to give birth, and she's been having the dreams because of the pregnancy. This one is pretty special, too. I think you'll really enjoy it.

Chapter: Chapter 8: The Name Game

I take a break for two weeks to sit my finals and finish all my term papers, and I come back and there are a dozen new chapters waiting for me! I cannot tell you how happy that makes me! As for my guess, is it going to be Hermione's grandfather? That would be very strange though, seeing as Ginny has never met him in real life.

Author's Response: No, Ginny is not going to dream of Hermione's grandfather. I put that in there because of the crown symbol and also to drop a hint about the name Hugo. I'm glad I made you happy. Have fun catching up!

Chapter: Chapter 21: Journey's End

Excellent Chapter!!! I'm really happy the mods have been updating this fic faster lately otherwise I don't know what I would do in all the suspense/wanting to know what comes next.

Author's Response: Nothing like a little suspense, is there? I like a story that keeps me turning pages, so that's the way I try to write them. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Thanks so much for your review!

Chapter: Chapter 21: Journey's End

Now I am starting to understand the title Great Expectations, considering the possibility that Albus may be the next Chosen One.

So Ginny finally meets James and Lily. Wonder how that conversation is going to go. Will Chapter 22 appear tomorrow?

Author's Response: Don't know if it'll appear tomorrow. It'll depend upon a couple of factors, but I'll surely try. It'll be soon, at least. It's probably my favorite chapter in the story and includes some very touching moments. The title also comes from a comment in an earlier chapter when Harry reflects on "the weight of great expectations" which have always burdened him, but in this case the burden will be felt by someone else. Also, of course, it's because Ginny and Hermione are both "expecting." Thanks for your comments.

Finally I'm getting around to leaving a review...i've been following this story for a while now, it's even on my favorites for the last for weeks. I absoloutely love it, but I especially like that you update so frequently! Please please please keep that up!

Author's Response: I had already written most of it before MNFF finally got around to posting new chapters, so I have quite a few in reserve. YOu may have to wait a bit for the last couple of chapters, as the writing is going very slowly, but I am nearly finished with the story so you'll have quite a chunk to read while you wait for the end.

Awsome chapter! Thank you, thank you for having Ginny dream of Harry's parents. Very much looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: You're welcome! Ginny's conversation with her in-laws is one of the most touching in the entire "dream series" in my opinion. I think you'll enjoy it. Thanks for reviewing!
