Chapter: Talks with Plants and Crumple-Horned Snorkacks

Cute! There's no many Luna/Rolf fics out there, and this is a great one! Luna/Rolf is a favorite pairing of mine, too. Thanks for the great read!

Chapter: Talks with Plants and Crumple-Horned Snorkacks

Well, first off, your summary made me laugh. Before I even started reading, I was giggling - a good sign, I was sure.

Now, I just love the idea for this. It's really original, and keeps the reader thinking throughout the whole thing. There were parts that made me smirk, smile, and feel sad. Sometimes at the same time.

I love the perspective from which you told the story. It would have lost some of its charm if it had been told from third person, or from Luna's point of view. Rolf's voice is entertaining, and his regard to things is rather humourous. I absolutely loved his reaction to the Crumple-Horned Snorkack, and to Luna's reaction to his. It was sweet, and sad, in a way.

I loved the ending. I wasn't expecting a appearence of a CHS (see, I'm too lazy to write it out all the way.), and I loved how that developed the ending. I actually nearly cried when Luna said she didn't believe, because it's part of who she is. It really shows us how she reacts, as an older, more experienced person.

I absolutely luurrvved the last line. It was sweet, and made me smile.

Overall, a fantastic story, and I absolutely loved it.

Meep!

Aww, Tash, she’s so in-character! I love how innocent and carefree she is. Honestly, Luna’s so hard, and you’ve got her down pat so well. Rolf seems to have a good character, too. Nicely done. I like the idea of him being able to hear plants talk, and Luna hear animals – and the way both seem to feel happy around Luna. She’s just that kind of person, isn’t she.

And the Crumple-horned Snorkack outside the window! Awesome! But I feel so sorry for Luna, for her not seeing it when Rolf did.

And the ending lines are pure magic. “Luna, don’t ever stop believing.” “What are you talking about? I never will.” “What are you going to do tomorrow?” “Look for Crumple-horned Snorkacks, of course!”

All I can criticise is that in quite a few places your tense switches from past to present and back again. That happens in a few of your fics; I think that it’s because you type so fast. My theory, anyhow.

As per usual, I am totally jealous of this fic and I would steal it, if only I had the technical know-how! Applause for Tash, the awesome author!

Love Phia

Ah, I loved this story! (And I'm reviewing it, which is not something I do often, so that's good!) I love how it's narrated from Rolf's point of view, which is unconventional, but I think you pulled it off well [: Especially since he's not quite, well, canon, per se.

I'm a little iffy on the Luna characterization, she seemed kind of... too carefree, not enough pensiveness, but that could just be my inner Luna scholar shining through xD And she may have changed, too, I guess. In any case, it's still an excellent fic!

Good Luck!

Author's Response: Yeah, Luna's characterisation annoyed me here too, but she refused to be written any other way. So I let her be. She's not consoling anyone this time round, anyway. x)
