Very good. It's rather amusing at how much teaching managed to get done, despite attempted misdirection. :-)

I suspect that you may have meant "He looked at Dewey and Violet" instead of "He looked at Teddy and Violet" (given the context, as it's just after Harry addresses Teddy & Kai).

I rather liked the way Harry reacted to what happened, and yes, Hermione will undoubtedly find what happened of interest. :-}

The punishments do seem quite apropos, as well.

Chapter: It's All Fun and Games Until Someone Gets Hurt

I feel bad for Dewey Diggory, how he got hurt. Will any of the students. who got expelled come back to Hogwarts? Also will there be sequels for Hogwarts Houses Divied?

Maga Fan

Author's Response: You'll have to wait and see what happens to the expelled students! As for sequels, right now I am writing the sequel to Alexandra Quick and the Thorn Circle, as I have finished Hogwarts Houses Divided (the remaining chapters will be posted as quickly as they are validated). But it's possible I may write a sequel to HHD in the future. Thanks for your review!

OH MY GOSH what a cliffie!! I can't believe they managed to catch him, even for a short time! Oh, I hope the teachers catch him, and that Teddy's okay. And Violet checking on Kai was cute...

I cannot believe that this story has not gotten more reviews. I've been reading this fanfiction for the past three days and I've reccommended it to all my friends. Your writing is smooth and captivating, not choppy and slightly amature like some other HP fanfictions. You are true to the wonderful world that J.K. Rowling has created for us. I honestly can't wait for your next chapter! How often do you update?
Good luck on everything! Keep writing!

Author's Response: Thank you for your kind words. I've written well ahead, so there is always a new chapter in the queue. Basically, I update as often as chapters are validated.

Very nicely played. Keep every one guessing. And what is with Violet and Chloe, jealously? Hmmm. And wow she is only ten. You are a very good writer and I cannot wait to see what you wll come up with next.

You weave a very interesting premise. Four characters, four houses, where will they fall? I cannot wait to read the rest. Lovely.

OH MY, i never thought violence like this was to ensue. Poor Teddy . . and Kai . . and chances are they will be found out as the pink perpetrators! What a tragic and surprising turn of events. :( Guess I'll have to just wait and see.

Chapter: It's All Fun and Games Until Someone Gets Hurt

Just to let you know I am still reading and enjoying even if I don't get the chance to review.

I have been thinking (yes, very dangerous) and I thought I would give my opinions as to which house the 4 characters are in as they all seem to think something isn't quite right. I do not of course expect you to respond and give away the ending.

Dewey is in Ravenclaw, because of the 4 he seems to be the only one who questions things or wonders about things. He seems to be the only one who learns for the sake of learning. On coming to Hogwarts he wondered if the boats were enchanted to hold Hagrid. He seems to be the only one who has read above and beyond on Goblin history and unlike Hermione, I don't think he did this to do well on a test but just because it was interesting.

The other students I am less sure about. I originally placed Violet in Gryffindor because her moral compass is like that of Neville in book 1. But on further thought having a strong sense of right and wrong is not exclusively Gryffindor. All of the 4 know what is wrong. She acts as the voice of reason to Teddy's impulsive ideas and she is willing to be brutally honest with them when it comes to morals, but I am not sure if she is standing up to them the way Neville did. She does not for instance do this to her mother. I think Violet's overwhelming trait is her loyalty. She may be upfront about her mother's reactions but she will not say that her mother is wrong (to her friends) about having the wrong idea. Also in this chapter she mentions she does alot of observing to better understand other peoples' motives. This is alot of hard work, so I think Violet is Hufflepuff.

Kai is either Gryffindor or Slytherin. In the very begining it is clear he is looking for excitement and studying falls far short of this. I was tempted to put Kai in Slytherin because being number 1 seems important. I am referring to the flying lessons where he suggests that Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw can earn points by helping members of the other house. (I don't believe Slytherins have to be cut-throat to win). But Teddy's behavior might be more Slytherin plus it seems unsymmetrical to leave Teddy in Gryffindor. This is complicated by the fact that I can't think of any instance where Kai has acted brave although he was gallant by telling Violet to also run for help. He also is showing some personal growth by admitting to Violet that she caught on to Teddys' metamorphasis quicker than he did. Not sure if it's brave but I'll leave Kai in Gryffindor.

Teddy was the hardest because in alot of ways he does embody the Gryffindor ideals. He fought Roger Drocker when he was taunting Violet. He rushed to stop Slipfang both times that he saw him. Teddy's actions are impulsive and may not always represent bravery. I am thinking of his idea to get the House Elves to stop working. Clever and Cunning. If Teddy is a Slytherin, he is definitely a good one. It would also explain why he carried the grudge against Chloe in that subconsciously he recognized actions he would have done but not seen the consequences thereof.

The only minor problem to Teddy being Slytherin is canon. Albus Potter might not have feared Slytherin if Teddy were in that house. Just my 2 knuts.

As an aside I liked the way you handled the idea of forgiveness in previous chapters. You gave good insight into Chloe's motives without making her into a monster.

Author's Response: Thank you for your lengthy and thoughtful review! You make some interesting observations. I am not, of course, going to comment on their accuracy. ;)

It appears that Teddy has managed to illustrate that there can be a fine line between bravery and foolishness.

But then, I'd hazard a guess that the Pinkness might not be the highest priority once other Staff members show up.

Well done.

Chapter: Valentine's Day

Harry's letter to Teddy is just perfect.

I'm liking this story more and more with each chapter, especially because you write as much about everyday school life and the students' challenges as about the 'outside world of adults', it's like in JKR's earlier books.

Thanks for updating so frequently, please don't stop! I'm growing quite curious about those goblins...

Yeah, things do tend to "have a great deal more contrast" in one's youth. And the need to "compartmentalize information" tends to be rather less obvious.

I quite liked Harry's letter to Teddy. And Hermione's reaction seems right.

The lads' reaction to the (pink) room of requirement fits, too -- it's well understood (among those of the male persuasion) that pink is quite contagious, after all. :-}

I wonder if the Goblins have managed to "get over" the events surrounding the Trio's break-in (of the LeStrange vault in DH).

Well done!

Thank you so much for your latest update to Hogwarts Houses Divided. I really have enjoyed the story so far and look forward to the next update. You have definitely stepped up the action with the goblin rebellion, and I really liked Harry's reaction to Teddy's letter to the Daily Prophet. Thanks again.

Chapter: S.C.O.U.R.G.E.

I can't help but wonder if we will get to see the DA's letter some time. :-}

I also wonder how Hermione reacts to S.C.O.U.R.G.E. :-} (Somewhat conflicted, I'd guess.)

Teddy does appear to be getting away with quite a bit, though these things do seem to be pretty minor compared to what Harry & Co. got away with during their Hogwarts tenures.

Very well done.
